I paid $6.50 per bagel for 3 bagels with lox spread. There was next to nothing on the bagel -- barely a schmear! This is consumer fraud. read more

Died and went to lox bagel heaven. Given great bagels are commonplace on the East Coast, maybe I am a little biased (and living on a very underrepresented bagel coast) but a hot everything bagel straight out of the oven was pure bliss. Great crust, warm and fluffy on the inside, nothing more I could have asked for (also why have we never put coarse salt on our everything bagels in CA?!). Yes, it's not the cleanest (hopefully just looking) place. Yes, it takes forever for the bagel to be ready. 10/10 I would return. read more

It's a shame because this place was a staple for me growing up. Not only did the prices increase significantly in the last few years, they now also add a 4% service fee for card transactions (which is illegal with debit cards by the way). The bagel itself was tough and bland, which is an achievement for one of the most seasoned bagels (everything) and the amount of schmear (or lack there of) for the price is farrr too little. I'm glad I returned for one last time but it's a shame that this place has also gone to shit =\. read more

Not good, dirty inside, and a rip off. Advertisement of "healthy breakfast for 8.99" vegeterian omelette is 3 eggs with brócoli mushroom tomato Munster served with butte bagel and 16 oz coffee. Um not it's actually there version of a veggie omelette which includes no cheese or broccoli. When checking out I asked if it comes with coffee and bagel and was told no. Then why advertise as such? Also super expensive for crap. Not for me and could do a much better job. Also can't even fill up your coffee cup completely because of how the dispenser is set up. read more

Hampton bagels is exceptional. Their bagels are good, drinks are good and don't expect to pay too much. A nice average deli. This is necessarily in EH because everything always costs so much. If you are looking for a cup of coffee and a bagel, Hampton bagels is the way to go. read more

The guys that work at Hampton Bagel are real friendly. The place is really clean and they have a good variety of fresh bagels everyday. I ordered a egg & Lox sandwich with onions and cream cheese. I didn't like the egg and lox scrabbled and cooked together. I think the sandwich would of been better if the lox was placed on top of the egg. Next time, I will order it that way. The bagel was fresh. read more

There are a few things that come close to a real Long Island bagel. An everything bagel from an old school bagel shop is what makes for a prefect breakfast. Hampton Bagels satisfies the bagel urge when you are in East Hampton. They serve something called a flagel, which is a flat bagel (healthy version??). I prefer the old-fashioned bagels myself, but if you are looking to consume less bread the flagel may be an option. I find the word flagel to be ugly and unappetizing... it sounds similar to Flagyl, which is prescribed for dysentery. One order of everything bagel toasted with egg, cheese, and bacon. And your day is off to a good start! read more

Today though i tried my customize bagel with regular cream cheese ( its good but i love what i usually got with strawberry cream cheese). Obviously a family business because a cool young kid was handing out samples outside. I don't remember seeing any obvious place to sit so I believe it is take out only. Ordered a variety of bagels all fresh. Note that it was not first thing in the morning and they were still fresh. Got chive cream cheese which was also very good. A far cry and less expensive and better than the designer bagels available on Newtown lane. Need to support these small family businesses so they don't disappear. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. The worst customer service and disorganization hands down. If you call in you order you still wait like 10 15 mins. I paid $7 for an egg sandwich that costs $4 anywhere else. On top of that my bagel was very hard and they are cheap on their overpriced toppings. Literally 1 piece of ham and 1 piece of bacon and 2 eggs on a bagel costed $7.11. I could understand if it tasted good but it didnt. I usually go to one stop but I didn't have the time. I'll make sure I have time the next time I get breakfast. read more

Not the best bagels in the world, very unorganized inside. I fully understand it's summer and they are very busy rocking and rolling with orders but I noticed it happened 2x to customers in front of me that they were over changed for items. I'd go back if I had no other options read more

These bagels are fresh and delicious! I just had one for breakfast. (Though I personally didn't go in and purchase one!)

Hampton Bagels has been around for a long time in East Hampton. Its located on North Main Street, so you need to find parking on the street or in the tiny little lot on the side of the building. The store is not the most modern nor the cleanest, but its a bagel place - someplace you go for a quick breakfast or sandwich to go. The food is good, its not fantastic, but its still pretty good. During the season, expect a long wait time. Its the Hamptons, par for the course. Out of season, you can usually be in and out in less than 10 minutes. You can also call ahead to place your order - a good idea for skipping the long lines. The people behind the counter have always been very friendly. They can be overworked at times when the store gets busy, but they've always been nice to deal with. read more

If i could post 0 stars i would...as a lifelong local of east hampton ive watched this buisness decline dramatically over the last two years. After my latest experience there its safe to say i wont be going back, the staff is rude, the food is very poor, and they refuse to provide an itemized receipt to even show the customer what the price is for each item they are paying for, basically allowing them to charge the customer whatever they feel like at the time of check out. read more

Bob has been operating this bagel shop locally since I was a child. (I'm 26) every batch of bagels is made fresh everyday, what he doesn't sell he donates to the local food bank. If he knows you he will always say hi, even though he is almost always extremely busy. People tend to think he can be a bit mean but he's just extremely forward; no bs. I've been a employee and a customer, and he always puts he customer first but he will always stand by his people. The coffee Is amazing, his fresh squeeze OJ is heaven. The bagels are fluffy and delicious, always. His hot sandwiches and grill are the best around. Nothing gets better then here for breakfast or lunch. Percilla has worked there since I was a kid and she is the nicest lady I have ever met. Nothing gets better then bobs bagels. Don't listen to the other reviews, they're probably rich snobs from the city that don't understand the nature of the island and get sour when they don't get their instant gratification that their maids and service workers give to them. -Local Reviewer. read more

Horrible service. Average tasting bagels and not very clean. Waited in there for 30 minutes. Took at least 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me at the register. Not only are they short staffed but they are incredibly unorganized. One person is doing 20 things while others are doing meaningless tasks, and it seemed like there was only 1 person actually tending to the bagels. They need to get rid of the online purchases because they can't handle it, up their staff, and clean the place up a bit. Will not be going back!! read more

Love these guys. Best bagels in East Hampton if you think you're getting a better one in another place like Mary's Marvelous, here's some info: They all get their bagels from Hamptons Bagel. Great egg salad, tuna salad, and sandwiches too. read more

Delicious bagels served with friendly, Mom-and-Pop style service! If you're enjoying a bagel in the Hamptons, chances are that you are eating a Hamptons bagel. The counter staff treats their customers like family. The specialty sandwiches are delectable--and very reasonably priced (if you are familiar with what things cost on the East End). The comments criticizing the cleanliness of the establishment fail to take into account that in addition to counter service, Hampton bagel is a major supplier of bagels to the haute eateries of the Hamptons. When you walk in, you are immediately observing the long and involved process of preparing the perfect bagel. The layout of Hampton bagel allows the customer to observe this process directly. Out-of-town customers who are accustomed to a different rhythm of life, confused about the difference between servants and service or lacking in the patience necessary to wait on a line while other customers are being served should look elsewhere. read more

Unsanitary is the primary reason for one-star. I can't believe the health inspector hasn't straightened this place out. It's gross what goes on if you watch for a few minutes. The inability to get orders correct and the hostile owner and general treatment of customers as necessary evils are all secondary. Based on visits over the course of a year I was regularly seein staff wear latex gloves that they do not change despite touching dirty things and themselves. They count change and handle cash with the same gloves they then go make the next order bagel with. They touch everything in the store, including their noses and wipe sweat from their heads with the gloves they grab your bagel with. I thought it was just a training issue, but when I asked the owner about it he got visibly angry as if others had brought this up before and he was sick of hearing it. He growled something about the cost of gloves and it being stupid to even mention the problem. It is just frankly disgusting. Aside from the health hazard there is the bizarre requirement that before signing your credit card receipt you have to literally circle the total basically acknowledging it is correct. I suspect customers were getting over charged so often the owner was tired of arguments with customers who later noticed and wanted refunds so he came up with this brilliant workaround. There are other weird thins like this but there's no point in listing them all. Bottom line is you usually just leave aggravated and sorry you gave them another try. The overall vibe is awful and not at all like the other businesses in town. It's unfortunate because the bagels are actually good. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. The black girl who runs the front ( I will find out her name ) is the rudest, most unpleasant person ive ever encountered. I have paid 4 different prices for the same order on different days. These people are slow, RUDE and seem to make up their own prices depending on how they feel at that given time. I come in evey morning ( reluctantly) to get my same order, I pay a different price every morning. What kind of Business are these people running? I walked in this morning to 4 employees chatting it up as a line formed, I waited patiently as they enjoyed their time....5 minutes pass and i am greeted by this womans blank, lifless stare. I ask her what the price is for my cream cheese, she says 1.52... I got the same size cream cheese yesterday for 1.20...but okay... THE ONLY GOOD EMPLOYEE IS THE OWNER BOB....which is a total shame because he is in the back all day. BOB, if you read these, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of that girl in the front, she has made me slowly become a Goldbergs customer which is a shame because i like your bagels better. Please can your front staff, they are destroying your reputation. read more

Too bad there isnt a MINUS button!! My best friend lives in East Hampton and everytime I visit she says we should go to the other bagel place but this one is closer so we stop here. NO MORE!!! I was in town for 3 days and each day we stopped in to get breakfast. If nothing else they are consistent! Consistently miserable and Consistently slow!! This morning as I was leaving town I stopped to grab coffee and a bite to eat. 3 people behind the counter and about 6 customers. All 3 people looked absolutely miserable as if they were held at gunpoint to go to work, NO ONE SMILES IN THERE OR SAYS GOOD MORNING!! I think they may be severly under paid. The gentleman was ringing up and I stood behind the paying customer. After he rung the guy up, he looked at me, closed the register and walked away. I stood there WAITING about 10 minutes to pay for a coffee n a muffin. I finally ran out of patience and asked if I could JUST PAY!! No one said Sorry for the ridiculous wait for no apparent reason. She just rang it up n took my money like I OWED HER A FAVOR.. A guy standing next to me said "and I called my order in and still have to wait"....its not even like the prices are reasonable. There is no sense of urgency albeit 6 people or 20 people! This is the last time I will be giving them a single red cent of my money.. perhaps everyone else should rethink this place as well and go the extra mile to pay fair prices for service with a smile because this place is JUST HORRIBLE!!! read more

why do I even go back there.... once again service is extremely slow.... and I was not going to write a review, but after I got to work and was about to eat the bagel I ordered, they gave me the wrong order. This place is so dirty. Today was the last straw for me at this place - I will never go back there. I was the only customer in there, yet it took 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me and take my order. That's not even the worst part....the guy who finally took my order had been counting money, wearing the same disgusting, sweaty latex gloves that he wore when he made my bagel. I could actually see the sweat dripping from his hands, out of the gloves. Then he returned to handling money, wearing the same gloves. What's the point of even wearing gloves if you do things like this??? I hate confrontation, so I just paid for the bagel, walked outside and threw it in the garbage. I'll never be able to eat another thing from that place after this. read more

The worst . . . Service brings this establishment to less than a 1 star for me. I've been a patron for 20 years. 2016 staff is the worst, they do not listen, they get your order wrong, they get mad when they've given you Swiss cheese on your bagel instead of cream cheese, attitude when you ask for a softer bagel that's not hard as a rock . . . Definitely did not ask for attitude and bitchiness with my bagel order that I'm paying for and I did not feel that spiking my bagel as hard as she could into the garbage was appropriate behavior. This is referencing the middle aged Hispanic woman behind the counter. Needs to be fired. The younger gentleman that's been there for years is great though. I recall boycotting years ago, what was I thinking going back. Learned my lesson. I'll take a Goldbergs line any day of the week. Done. read more

The place is seriously disorganized. The lines are out of control for no apparent reason. But we love it anyway.

Last time I came here this place totally scammed me, whenever I come in here it's always at the end of my overnight tour as a paramedic so I never really pay much attention to the prices, I just want to get my food and get home asap. Last time I was here however I ordered a breakfast sandwich, a sausage patty on the side for a treat for my dog, and also got a large bottle of simply lemonade. The total came to almost $16. I said to the cashier that that couldn't possibly be right. She got very irritated and called over a colleague to re-enter my items into the register. This time I watched the prices as she entered them because they were not written anywhere for me to see. The breakfast sandwich was $4 and some cents, the juice $5 and some cents, and the sausage was $1.50. So I did the math. Even being generous to the store and assuming the unknown cents were on the high side, say $4.75 for sandwich and $5.75 for juice that comes out to $12 even. The grand total was still almost $16. This means they charged me approximately a 30% sales tax. I don't know how many other people they are doing this to but it seems like the register is set up to do this automatically. I will not be coming back to this bagel store and if you read this review and decide to go anyways I recommend keeping an eye on the prices and total you are being charged. read more
