They asked us to sign in & offered water or soda from the mini-fridge (much appreciated on this hot day). Within 10 minutes, we met with Sonia. We tossed her we were bringing in organized coins from a deceased family member but had no clue of value. I was glad I'd organized our coins by type & year. Sonia was able to quickly look at all & determine only 3 coins were worth more than face value - for a grand total of 25 cents! But we didn't feel disappointed. We left with more knowledge, a printout to help us evaluate coins in the future & a card for their sisters store that handle mis-struck coins (which we set aside). I'd also note that the other customers left with smiles on their faces, too. Hearty recommendation for Sonia & Congressional!

They are a business that needs to make money and it's more likely that you're overvaluing your stuff. The person I worked with was very kind and professional, and I'm happy to support this local coin shop in this tough environment, given the recent (silly) tax changes in Maryland that will hurt these local stores.

Three hours and $15 later, it was ready for pick-up. The band looks excellent and fits even better. Things to know about CK Jewelers: 1) You have to be buzzed into the store. The shop is small and staffed only by Chris and his son (I assume it's his son). It's also located in the lobby of a busy office building with lots of foot traffic. Having to be buzzed in to gain entry is their extra security measure. 2) At first, Mr. Kourkoulakos may seem grumpy; even gruff, perhaps. He's not. 3) Aside from doing repair work, there's a lovely selection of bijoux for sale as well. Small, family run shop + convenient location + great, speedy service + fair prices = Yay! Extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and loud customer service…read more I visited this store today expecting a routine appraisal and was met with some of the most dismissive and unprofessional treatment I have ever experienced at a retail establishment. The employee, a middle age womanwho assisted me made assumptions from the moment I walked in and treated me with complete disdain. Rather than handling my transaction with basic courtesy and privacy, she was rude, handle my item carelessly, and practically flung my ring back at me. To make matters worse, instead of walking back over to speak to me directly and discreetly, she shouted the appraisal value at me from across the showroom floor in front of other customers and security. It was degrading, loud, and completely devoid of basic customer service ethics or discretion. Regardless of how a customer is dressed or what service they are seeking, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I will never return to this establishment, and I strongly advise others to take their business to a jeweler that actually values professionalism and treats human beings with respect.
