Don't waste your time unless you're bringing in a Rolex, patek or luxury watches. Not necessarily the watch shop for the average joe. More of a higher end, I guess caters to their own. read more

I have bought six watches from Alan Furman. I trust his professionalism. His prices are really fair. I wouldn't buy from any other Watch seller. read more

Great customer service. Able to accommodate a same day battery change. Done within minutes!

They carry many quality watch brands at excellent pricing. Knowledgeable staff supporting Alan!

We could not have asked for a better experience! Alan Furman is the most wonderful jeweler out there! He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and patient with us during the entire process. We bought my engagement ring, and both of our wedding bands through him. We cannot recommend him enough!! read more

What an experience. Our sales associate, Brian, was knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and above all else, patient with us. Not only were they able to beat the best online price that I found, but the presentation of the watch really made us feel that we made the right choice in dealers. If you are looking for any kind of high-end jewelry, you should give Alan Furman & Co. a try. They are terrific. read more

Five stars is an understatement!. I have bought and sold watches with Alan Furman. They have represented me in selling a a watch on Sothebeys. Important Watch auction. Advised me on selling a gold Audemars (a major success), provided service on a Pre Moon Omega (1967) and sold me a watch at a great price. Alan has provided me with hours of expert advice in selling fairly 'exotic' watches and is always interested in talking watches and providing incites. I highly recommend him as a source for high end luxury and exotic watches! read more

Absolutely, without question as reputable as can be! Alan Furman has always been very fair and able to find what it is you need if he doesn't have it in his own inventory. I've done business for year's with them and is my one and only "go to" when needing a particular Rolex or, simply to send one of my watches in for repair or basic service. It's a real comfort to me and my family knowing Mr. Furman and his team will treat you right, keep you posted on any inquiries and ALWAYS be competitive and fair in their dealings....My family thanks you for your honor and service! Called AF today to enquire about a watch. Was told it is discontinued (it isn't) and then asked if I wanted the round or rectangle model (they are only made rectangle). Then I was told they have to give me a call back later to give me any pricing or availability info. I just don't know about this place. read more

I have bought three watches from Alan Furman. Each experience has been excellent with astounding prices! Definitely recommend.

I made my first purchase from Alan Furman & Company over 20 years ago (Rolex Submariner). I was very satisfied then and I am even more satisfied now. Alan Furman & Co., uncompromising desire to provide excellent customer service, regardless of what the task at hand is bar none, as they don't settle for anything less than 100% satisfaction, by doing what needs to be done with the highest levels quality, integrity and professionalism. I dealt with Sergio and Alan regarding my custom order of a very hard to acquire Panerai, as no one has them in stock, the wait times from various local Authorized Retailers to the Panerai Boutiques can take anywhere from a couple of weeks, to a month and in some instances even longer to be delivered. Both Sergio and Alan paid very careful attention to all my wants, my needs and made them happen, without any hesitation on their part. Alan Furman & Co., staffs' courtesy, professionalism and attention to detail is something rarely encountered into today's society. Alan Furman & Co., was able to make the transaction happen in five days from order to delivery, which included the weekend. My Panerai was ordered on a Friday and it was delivered to my front door by the following Wednesday. The transaction by far, was one of the easiest transactions that I have ever experienced, especially with all the demands that I asked for when I purchased my Panerai. I wanted a Panerai that was "factory fresh", "not tried on" by anyone and handled as little as possible. Alan Furman & Co., did exactly as I requested...they delivered to me a "factory fresh" Panerai, which was packaged with the upmost care to ensure that it arrived safely. The Panerai is truly phenomenal and to say that I love it is an understatement. The outstanding price for which I was able to purchase my Panerai from Alan Furman & Co., was unbeatable. I was able to purchase the Panerai as well as an additional the Factory OEM watchstrap and deployant, which I wanted for a substantial amount less than everyone else wanted for the Panerai alone. It was a true pleasure to work with Alan Furman & Co., not only did they meet my needs, they went beyond what I expected. I truly look forward to dealing with Alan Furman & Co., again. read more

We bought my wife a Rolex watch for her birthday from Alan Furman. The price was more than fair and the service we received from Alan and his staff was top notch. He kept in touch with us through the whole process. We needed an extra link in the band and he installed that before the watch was shipped to us. Upon arrival, my wife needed another link because the band was still too tight so we contacted Alan and he shipped the link to our jeweler in Lahaina Maui while we were vacationing so he could install it for us while we were there. This kind of service is exceptional and we really appreciated it. Thank you and your staff for what we consider special treatment during our purchasing process. We would highly recommend Alan Furman if you are considering purchasing a Rolex or any fine watch or jewelry. read more

I recently purchased my first Cartier with Alan after much internal debate over which vendor to use for the purchase. Although Alan is not the cheapest option, the premium one pays over say Jomashop or eBay is worth every penny. The Customer service was exceptional. I first spoke with Sergio who explained why the price was slightly higher than competitors (full papers). I decided to order the watch and Sergio emailed me and soon called me back to ensure every detail of the order was correct. He was completely candid about the time it would take to procure the watch and apologized for what ultimately was a 2 day wait; which he had disclosed when I first inquired about the watch. When the watch arrived at their shop, Alan called me and helped arrange for shipping to a local FEDEX so that I wouldn't have to wait at home to sign for the watch. Alan also called when my bank failed to give him proper notice of the wire transfer and helped me sort it out so that the watch could be expedited to me. As for the watch, its beautiful, perfect, authentic and worth the price paid. I will happily make my next watch purchase through Alan Furman, A+ service. read more

I purchased a watch from Alan Furman & Co a short while ago. I spoke to Sergio over the phone and through email. They did not have the watch in stock, but were able to order it for me. Sergio was extremely professional and helpful every time I called or emailed. He even was able to overnight the watch to me to have in time for a special event. Alan Furman & Co was recommended to me by a friend who also collects watches and I am thrilled that I have found such a reliable and honest company with competitive pricing as well. I think for serious watch collectors, or anyone who understands horology, Alan Furman & Co is a great jeweler to do business with. I look forward to purchasing from them again in the future. read more

Alica helped me purchase a watch for my wife last December 2018. Saved some money off MSRP. Private setting takes the pressure off and loved the personal service. Alan has a great thing going here and have been back a few times. I would highly recommend if your looking for a luxury watch like Rolex. They can also do customized bezels and dials which is a bonus. read more

Alan Furman & Company is now the only place I shop for jewelry, including watches. Best prices anywhere.

I read that Alan Furman provides great deals on watches but their service leaves much to be desired. That was our experience. I inquired about a 20K Rolex. We spoke with a gentleman who may or may not have been Alan. He was friendly and told us he could ship the watch to us in 2 days. Told him we wanted to check on thing and call him back. We call back ready to purchase the watch minutes later. A female answers and says he is not available. We give them our number and was supposed to call us back that day or the next. Never heard from them again After this experience, it confirmed my belief in you get what you pay for. As a result, I decided to go with a local authorized dealer in my city. I recognized that even though I would pay more money, I will receive that level of service that is afforded to patrons who will pay that much for a watch. read more

I was looking for a hard to find Rolex and checked with Alan. I traded in my current Rolex and Alan found my new Rolex, from my first meet with Alan 48 hour later I was wearing my new Rolex. Very fair deal on my trade in and price on new watch. Alan and his staff are great to work with and I will be doing business with them in the future. Thanks to Alan and his staff. Tom read more

My wife was living in Washington, DC when she purchased my Rolex Datejust from Alan Furman in early 2001. Working in the DC region, she was familiar with the store's excellent reputation and highly competitive prices. I have treasured that watch since then and have sent it to Alan Furman for periodic routine service and maintenance. We have always been highly satisfied with our interactions with the staff at Alan Furman, and when we decided to purchase another Rolex watch - this time for my wife - there was no hesitation in our deciding to purchase again from this store. We value the fact that Alan Furman is not simply a store selling watches or a jewelry store with watches as a sideline. Alan Furman offers watch servicing and repair as part of their Rockville, MD operation. As an example of the tenure of the company's staff, the person who assisted us on this last purchase, Darryl Whipple, assisted us during a visit to the store in 2002. Darryl is equally knowledgeable about watch sales as he is regarding service, which instills confidence when making a purchase. It was a pleasure working with Darryl on our recent Rolex watch purchase and on my watch's periodic servicing. The Alan Furman business model allows customers to purchase watches and accessories at a price that does not include the markup charged in company stores to cover office rental in high-end luxury shopping centers, excessive staff and the cost of a large inventory. We value this opportunity to save on the purchase and it allows us to purchase items that are nicer than what we could buy at a high-end mall boutique. The bottom line is that we would never think of going anywhere besides Alan Furman to purchase a new watch or accessory or to have our watches routinely serviced to maintain them in perfect running order. We recommend Alan Furman without hesitation. read more

Went here to get watch batteries replaced after looking online. $35 per watch. Yikes!! Way too much $$$. I had two watches - a Seiko, $35, and same price to replace my Timex. Wasn't worth it. If you have lots of money and very expensive jewelry, maybe this is the place for you. read more

So here is the deal. His prices are good. Better than most. He's not an "authorized" dealer so he keeps prices lower to compete. But they lack in customer service and etiquette and that experience that one expects from a retailer when purchasing a $40,000 item!! I mean I get a warmer feeling and more of a thankful sincere appreciation when purchasing a $100 tie from Bloomingdales than a $40k watch from these guys. I'd give them 4 stars for price but id give them 2 stars for their lack of understanding of how to treat and cater to the luxury watch shopper. They need to learn this from places like Ritz Carlton or Bloomingdales or frankly any grateful appreciative store owner. read more

Excellent , no-nonsense dealer with a HUGE inventory. I was able to execute a super smooth transaction with Mr. Furman for fine watch. Spoke with him on Thursday at 5PM. I would give Alan Furman &Co 10 stars if that was an option!!! I have been purchasing fine watches and jewelry from Alan Furman for over 20 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The entire staff is professional, very knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. They have outstanding service from the moment you make the initial phone call. The entire process is stress free and I am always pleasantly surprised at the quick turnaround. I have recommended Alan Furman to many of my friends and family members and all have been extremely happy to find a jeweler they can really trust. I look forward to working with this top notch company for many more years to come! read more

One of the only places in the area that specializes in servicing Hublot watches. We dropped by last week with my husband's Hublot chronograph. After signing in, we waited for only a few minutes before a technician came out. He looked at the watch, listened to the movement, asked a few questions, and actually fixed the watch for free, since it was a minor issue! He was very professional and courteous, and we will definitely use them again in the future. And the watch has been running great all week. :) read more

I can't speak highly enough about Alan Furman & Co. We have purchased five fine watches from them and they have been a joy to work with on every purchase. Every watch has come in perfect condition, they privately meet with you to size, and then ship for free to your home with great packing care. Their selection is great and customer service beyond compare. If you live in Northern Virginia, I can't imagine shopping anywhere else. All five watches, all automatics, are still running well and look great. read more

I have saved well over $100,000 by shopping at Alan. When I need to buy jewelry for any occasion, I just call and ask for Alan. Could not be happier with my whole experience! Recently purchased an engagement ring and wedding band from Alan. I have no experience with purchasing any jewelry so was worried about how I would fare trying to pick out a ring. He personally called me to find out exactly what we were looking for. Once I arrived he had a variety of options and made the whole buying experience very smooth and easy. Customized the ring exactly to our liking! The quality of the ring and pricing was exceptional. He kept in touch throughout the whole process and once the ring arrived called me to make sure it was up to our standards. Highly recommend to anyone looking for any type of jewelry, watches, etc. read more

Friends and family of mine have trusted Alan Furman for years. I recently made my first purchase and couldnt be happier. First, I was pleasantly surprised when I called and Alan himself answered the phone. He was very friendly and helpful in completing my order. Second, the process and fulfillment of my order was very smooth. They were able to accept my payment, size the watch, and overnight it to me the next day. Now that I'm on the market for another watch, I will only be shopping at Alan Furman. Not only do they have the best prices you find, but I save another 9.5% by purchasing from out of state. read more

Misleading. I have a vintage Rolex that needed servicing and cleaning. I have had it for years and it has been a useful and enjoyable watch. I called A Furman in advance, and was referred to Darrell Whipple, who told me that they do all their repair in-house and that they could easily handle this. So I sent them my watch and about a week later Darrell sends me an estimate for $800. The estimate included a notation that because of age, the watch "cannot be corrected to its original accuracy." I called to speak with Darrell because I wanted to understand whether after $800 the watch would be a useful timepiece or just essentially a piece of jewelry. In other words, what was the degree of inaccuracy I could expect? Darrell couldn't answer that obvious question and kept referring me back to the written estimate, which of course had spawned my question because it was ambiguous on the very point that mattered to me. Darrell eventually admitted that he was the actually not the watch repair technician. When I asked to speak with the technician, I was told that wasn't possible because the guy doesn't want to deal with customers. After more discussion, I persuaded Darrell to ask the technician for some additional information so that I could decide whether it made sense to go forward with an expensive servicing that might not work. This took several days and caused me to suspect that the technician was not actually a Furman employee, but that Furman instead outsources repairs. When Darrell finally got back to me, I asked him that question and Darrell was evasive. Eventually, however, Darrell admitted that the technician is essentially an independent contractor who does work for a variety of shops. Maybe this won't matter to you, but it does to me. The internet is full of self-described vintage watch repair "specialists." I was reluctant to use one and preferred a local shop. But it turns out that I was just wasting my time and should have cut out the middleman. I asked for my watch back and will start over. read more
