Had a backed up mainline that I had 2 other rooter companies "clear out" but few days later clog up again.  Decided to go with Hammond's Rooter cause of the great reviews and it paid off.  John showed up along with his son Jake and spent time to run camera up the mainline both ways to show me what the problem was in multiple areas.  The other rooter companies just want to punch threw and getting it flowing, get paid and go... John and his son took there time to go thru and clear out everything in all the trouble spots.  I like that he was on time, very patient in explaining everything and stuck to his quote for the job even though they spent several hours on the job and didn't tack on surprise fees vs the other 30 min blow and go rooters that came before that only cleared the line for few days only to plug up again.  I've dealt with many, many plumbers as a property manager and it's not often u find one that is up front and honest so when u do find that needle the haystack u better hold onto it.  Will be calling John at Hammond's Rooter from now on read more

He did not answer his phone or respond to the texts I sent asking if he was coming. If he couldn't make it, the least he should have done was to let me know. He is a fantastic plumber , who came to my house 3 times to diagnose and replace a hot water recirculating pump that was installed by another plumber, 2 weeks before, but didn't work.. He finally proved to the manufacturer that the pump was defective, after exhaustively testing it , replaced it and got my hot water system to work. John has immense plumbing knowledge , integrity and expertise and I highly recommend him. A new and completely different plumbing job in my shower is planned for in a few weeks. Tonight when I came home from work, I discovered our toilets had clogged! And the bathtub! And nothing was going down! The good old sewer main clog, a familiar sight if you've lived in the great old houses of Torrance. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach, preparing myself to call many plumbers and be stuck with no working toilets tonight. So I searched for a plumber on yelp, and see all the usual plumbers... but then I saw Hammond's Rooter. I've never heard of them before, so I decided to give them a call. John answered the phone, and let me know that he'd get a plumber out as soon as possible - Jimmy showed up at my door 30 minutes later. In my years living in Torrance I've never had a plumber come to my house 30 minutes after calling, especially not at 9pm on a Friday. John ended up having to come over too, so they could snake the drain from the roof. They worked their butts off, and did a fantastic job. The price was very reasonable, too! I called John at 10pm on a Saturday night because there was water backed up into my shower. He picked up first call and headed over after I told him of the problem. I was new to this property so I didn't know where all the clean out pipes were. After working for almost two hours at a pipe that was too far from where the clog was, we called it a night. Seeming that the job was a failure, the very next morning I found a hidden clean out pipe that was 10 feet from where the clog was suspected. Right then I texted John of my discovery and he replied he would get to me first chance he gets. He arrived soon after and was able to fix and finish the job in about 10 minutes. The kids were playing out front today and our son brock a water line...it seemed like a nightmare until we called John. Main line clogs are rampant where we live in the South Bay and happens to just about every homeowner at some point. After looking at several different plumber reviews, we took a chance on Hammond's and we're happy we did. Hammond's was the first plumber that didn't try to convince us we needed to replace the main line, unlike other plumbers who have unclogged the drain in the past. They just came over (after doing the same job at a couple other places), cleared the line, and explained what was clogging it. The fee was very competitive and John was courteous and pleasant. I also appreciate working with a small, local business. While it took a couple hours for them to be able to come out because they were busy, I'm glad we waited. During a recent major remodel of our Torrance house, we were informed by our prime contractor that our 40 year old copper plumbing was totally shot and in need of replacement. John Hammond's team came highly recommended and spent a full two weeks ripping out the old copper lines and installing new PEX transmission tubing and custom copper points of use. He communicated with us daily on any issues that arose as well as some excellent upgrades and recommendations -- all within the initial price quote which, was at a very fair market price. It was a total pleasure to work with his team which was extremely courteous and professional throughout the job. Rather than focusing on doing the job "fast" they instead to the time to make sure they did the job "right". The final pressure testing of the system proved the quality of the workmanship.
