After they started the job it was discovered that they were unqualified to remove the ductwork and insulation properly. I wasn't aware that houses built in the 1960's used asbestos and throughout the house. The asbestos needed to be properly removed before any repair work could be performed. However the company gave me the impression that they were skilled and licensed to perform the removal. It was never mentioned to me that specific steps needed to be taken when dealing with asbestos. While removing the damaged ductwork they disturbed the asbestos thus making the house uninhabitable. Tony's company was brought in to perform the test for the asbestos. Asbestos was detected. Tony was very professional and helpful to explain the situation and provided information of what the next step entailed to resolve this matter. The testing report and procedure 5 plan was prepared by Titan. The report and work plan needed to be submitted to the SCAQMD for approval. His knowledge regarding this matter was absolutely first rate. He helped guide me through this difficult process. I would highly recommend employing Tony's expertise if you are ever get involved with this situation. You will be in good hands.

They did not have a diagram in their report showing where their samples were taken , and their report was riddled with errors. Phone calls and emails did not produce results. The bad reviews were correct about this company. My public adjuster insisted on using them. They dragged their feet from the very beginning by a couple of weeks, and again for the report, and now the report is flawed. And no response from the company.

Good communication and quick scheduling. I was able to have a technician come out the same day I called to schedule. The technician was extremely friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions while he was concentrating on the testing, set up etc. He was careful with his words meaning he didn't cause any unnecessary stress or anxiety. He wasn't pushy and was conscious of the cost while also recommending what samples are needed or suggested. He was clean and careful. Cons: Expensive compared to other mold testing companies. The invoice can quickly add up. I originally planned for about $800 ($500 base fee plus $75 for 4 samples). I added on asbestos test and that brought my bill to over $1300. In some ways I see this as a positive though because you get what you pay for (I hope and can't compare to any other company). My whole house wasn't moisture mapped as I was told it would be. The tech said they only focus on the reported areas of concern. Not a big deal but would've been nice to know. I kept getting rescheduled by 15 minutes. The tech was running late then running early so that was a little confusing. I jokingly asked them if I get compensation for the changed appt time since I signed the contract already (they charge $150 for any changes). They said no. The report is a bit confusing as it was the first time. The most annoying is that in the asbestos report they suggested further testing. Likely costing another $1000 or more. I thought I was already paying for the best testing. This feels a bit like a trick in some ways. Overall I'd go to JLM again. I suggest to do some research beforehand though to know exactly what you need done (AND WHY meaning are you renovating or just wanting to know for health reasons etc) so you don't get unneeded tests or costs.

I'm a certified fire & smoke restoration professional with various other certifications and have been in the industry for a decade, and the last 5 as an owner. I spent the previous decade as a professional firefighter, earning degrees in Fire Science and multiple certifications in emergency medical aid, EMT and other fire based related safety training. When the fires hit I was able to help many families, but unfortunately saw many companies either knowingly taking advantage or unknowingly giving incorrect information to victims. While providing emergency services structure and contents cleaning, for ash, char and other debris or contaminants. Blue Sky Environmental Consultants were the only company I saw that correctly identified ash and smoke as the carrier of these toxins and properly stating that comprehensive testing on the makeup of the ash is the only way to determine toxicity as it applied to proper coverage from carriers. All other companies came in, did a lead and asbestos only test with no byproducts of combustion test and put many people in bad situations that lacked context. The lead regulations are designed to apply when demo or removing lead based paint or structural products that contain lead or asbestos are being removed or replaced. As an emergency services company while I agree that ideally a company that provides niche lead services would be nice, when only cleaning the company need not be an abatement company. While they did recommend a licensed abatement company they correctly explained the regulation and its application. !

Alex Arreola, property field adjustor from the insurance company, Steven who is one of the manager of claims at Residence Mutual/Western Mutual decided with Corry Ennen from Signal Restoration Company they will NOT pay us the correct amount of money based on the detail work from Patriot Lab which took photos, and various samples which was submitted to the lab. Keep in mind my mother has breathing problem. After Alex and Corry BOTH gave us clearance we could move back into our home and several stages of deep cleaning was completed. Blue Sky Environmental was brought to our home on January 17, 2020 (15 days later) after we have moved back into our home. Mr. Patrick Moffett, Blue Sky Environmental walked around our home after is was deep clean for several days, his walk through was without taking any simples. His sole purpose was to total argued Patriot Lab Scientific testing was incorrect based on him NOT taking any chemical samples to minimized payout cost. Mr. Moffett, Blue Sky Environmental did a visual 45 minutes walk through our home while holding a black book taking notes here and there. These above companies EXCEPT for Patriot Lab are at minimum NOT following the policies of the State of California Insurance Policies and laws. I am wondering how how did you charge to sell your integrity? Was the cost worth it? It is never too late to do the correct thing? We have the chemical lab report. This is not the first time you did this. If the insurance company knows to call you to throw out lab tested results, this proofs it is not your first time. Companies without morals and integrity eventually gets in trouble or close down. You came to our home with out a test kit, so you were prepare to not do testing on the fire residue.

I have to say, it is extremely rare to find someone with this level of work ethic and dedication to their craft. You can tell Mike truly loves what he does. If you're looking for peace of mind and want to know the exact condition of your home, you will not be disappointed. Mike truly sets the bar for what one should expect in a home inspection.
