We had to find a nursing home for rehab purposes and we were given some names in our area and we decided here since it was so close to our home. There was a few staff there that were somewhat helpful but there were two nurses (one in particular) that were horrible and made me cry several times when I left there, knowing that he was not in good hands. I wish I knew the names and we did finally mention it to the director but we were afraid that she would treat my dad worse so we didnt push the issue. She was short and walked with a limp and worked nights and the other had glasses and they seemed to work together at times. Both of them made this such a bad experience for us and I tried to avoid them if I could walking in different doors so I didnt have to see them. The one with the limp was horrible, never helped, never made eye contact, did not say hello, and made you feel like you were bothering her if you did ask her something. I was always so nice and I had to bite my tongue from wanting to tell them off. I still think about what an awful person she was and that she should not be in the field of taking care of people so I feel the need to let others know not to come here if there are other choices. There were alot of other things too including the urination smell, the same program that they had on the TV every day for the patients (even they mentioned it) and the lack of help every night which seems to be a universal problem. I had to throw away pants that he was wearing because they wouldnt change him and I could not get the smell out after washing a few times. They didnt seem to care about these people. It was depressing. We have since left and glad that place is behind us but hoping this will help others.

Our relative used to be in independent living. When she went into memory care two years ago, things…read morehave gone downhill. Mind you, independent care wasn't the greatest, but it is very, very difficult to transfer a loved one with dementia to another facility. Therefore, we are still at Heritage Crossing. We have addressed issues with them several times. I had addressed an issue a week and a half ago in regards to my loved one that her room was filthy. Her bedsheets were filthy and they needed washed. The person I addressed this to was River, which is a new memory care director from what I'm told. My husband also was in contact with Rebecca, which is the director. I myself have tried to call corporate several times. You will never be able to get a hold of them. Ever. They make it so that all you can do is leave a message. UNLESS you are looking to sign a family member up at one of their communities then they will talk to you. Fortunately, I was able to get through with Amy who handles the billing and she was getting in contact with Caitlyn who is a vice president up at Corporate. I had to call Amy back today to let her know that I still hadn't heard from Caitlyn. Amy assured me that Caitlyn would call me back that she is very busy. Mind you, Caitlyn was made aware through Amy what my issues were. But Caitlyn is too busy. I gave Caitlyn plenty of time to call me back. Once you are a resident there and you are paying them $7000 a month for memory care, this is what you are subject to. Please see the pictures below. The first picture is blood and urine on my loved ones bedsheets and linens that have been there for at least two weeks. They have not been washed even after I asked. The napkin that you see on the bed is "stuck" to her bed. The picture of the floor and the toilet... that is feces on the floor and on the toilet seat, there is also dried urine. The clothes... They fold them and then they throw them wherever they can in the room, not organized at all. The room is absolutely disgusting. I have several more pictures that I will be sharing online. This is just one instance. I have several instances. I am absolutely at a loss for words and thoroughly disappointed. Not one person... not one has reached out. Instead, it is going to be my responsibility to clean up after my loved one that I paid them for. Beware before you commit to this facility. Talk with a residents family, especially back in memory care that has been there for a while. You should be able to get all aspects of the community. Not just what they tell you to get you in there.

I used to work at the restaurant called radius and sometimes in the bistro. As a waitress. At first it was great money and the hardest part was remembering the members names and preferences. But, there are many cons to working there and for me they eventually outweighed the pros. The schedule you are given isn't really up for debate. There are so few servers that they absolutely need you and no one can cover when you are sick really. Which sucks for the rest of the servers left there because then things get hectic. Also, you pretty much can expect to be forced to work Sunday mornings, Christmas, Easter and thanksgiving. Even if I absolutely had to call off they really didn't take no for an answer. My biggest problem is corporate. They have no idea how a restaurant runs and how many employees you need or how to pay them. Many times my check was messed up and they ended up blaming it on us saying we didn't keep track of our tips right so we owed them money. I was forced to give them $900 at one point. They also ended up taking away tips because we were making too much money. So now it's hourly. My thought process was, if they expect me to work holidays (which are the busiest ever. So hectic.) I'd like to be tipped. I got very unmotivated because I used to make so much money on holidays and now that they pay hourly i was doing 20 times more work for the same pay. I also noticed my pay check never seemed to add up to the hourly they said they were paying me. I swear it was minimum wage. They ended up messing up my check 3 times and I said I would quit after the 3rd time. And that's what I did. Besides that the food there is great lol

Due to some unforeseen medical issue, he lost use of his left leg and was in a lot of pain when trying to get up and move around. Prior to his next day doctor's appointment, contacting insurance or going out and purchasing one... I called up Chippewa Place and asked if they had a Walker we could use. Spoke to some very nice young ladies that told me they had an extra one and he could have it. How lovely, generous, kind and caring! Picked it up shortly after and it was in remarkable condition. More than what I had in mind and it made a world of difference. They wanted nothing in return other than helping out and being wonderful people. Thank You So Very Much!

I have been a resident for 12 months. The new owner has put the rent up $300/single and $400/double…read more(a 16.4% rise for 2025). The new owner is a "for profit" LLC and claims the increase is to keep in line with 'current market rates.' In the mean time, the food services has been reduced and the quality of the food sourcing has gone to the lowest possible provider. The continental breakfast appears in advertising, but is not provided in the lease and is only a 'courtesy' from the landlord. The new, absentee land lord from NJ, also has struck out wording from the former lease which would limit incremental services charges to be passed on to the resident. They are in it for the money and residence safety and well being are not the driving concern to providing senior independent living. There are better landlords in the Cleveland metro area which will not price gouge current senior residents with indiscriminate sur charges. Chippawa Place has lost it's reputation as a quality care independent living option and is now under the Horizon umbrella of facilities.

He is more ambulatory and more safe with the umbrella of 24/7 assist available if needed. The communication with family regarding special events, changes to diet, or other important notifications is exceptional. The directors are highly competent and accessible.
