My father was in need of Medicaid as he was suffering from MS. Yes, he was already advanced in his…read moreMS after struggling with it for over 20 years. However he was of good mind but needed advanced care. In March 2023 we moved him to the Manor and their care was decent through April. However when my father became Ill, with what he thought was maybe a bad cold, he asked for a doctor. The nurses did not have a doctor come to see him, as he came, but passed him by, by mistake. Two days later, my father calls me - has a terrible cough, I called and asked the front desk to make sure he gets the doctor on Thursday - they assured me he was in good hands. The doctor doesn't come on Thursday - Friday my mother, who was also not feeling well goes to check up on him and he is deathly ill. They missed the window for someone who had Pneumonia to get him a doctor, despite him asking for one twice that week, and tried to pawn it off as unnecessary. Of course, he goes to the doctor and he has Pneumonia. Unfortunately, he has a bounce back weekend that gave us hope, but the he the pneumonia was so bad with coughing he couldn't swallow as he had had this for 7 days before seeing a doctor - only when we called to have the ambulance take him. We called, THEY did not. There are many mistakes I've made in life. Choosing this nursing home, to take care of my father I count among the worst mistakes of my adult life. They they knew he had MS, with the #1 cause of death being Pneumonia - which they assured me they knew what that looked like.... well, they ignored his pleas for a doctor and - while MS complications are what killed him, with Pneumonia - their lack of care was the reason he lost perhaps 6-12 months of life. The only reason I did not sue is I was advised by lawyers that the case was not strong enough as he was already pretty sick, and we knew Covid and or Pneumonia would have to be aggressively treated if found. We also abided by his instructions that he did not want to be intubated, because the odds of people with secondary progressive MS coming back from that was less than 1% If you are looking for a place to die, they're a place that has kind workers that may make that happen. For us, in the end, they proved to be completely incompetent and cost me months perhaps a year more with my father. Consider this a warning. BTW, Medicare, once we were able to apply for it, approved his care post-mortem. He literally wasn't there long enough for the paperwork to be able to be filed and approved.

Great place to get bedsores!…read more My father and mother were raked over the coals during COVID by this place - charging him 13,000 a month for care. Robbery. My father required a hoyer lift, and could not go to the bathroom on his own. Unfortunately they left him alone, so long for so often that he developed bedsores from being unable to move, unable to be changed on time. They almost dropped him in the hoyer lift more than once, when my mother, who was staying with him, warned them that if they didn't take more care - she would record them almost dropping him so it was on video. This was just before the right to have a camera in facilities - the manager said that if she tried to record them for them to put him down and deny care. I should have gotten a lawyer, instead I got him out of there. Damage was done, both to the pocket book and bedsores. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Update for Tyler's Response: Thank you for reaching out to me. Unfortunately, I hadn't thought about Yelp and google for leaving a review till now, as my facebook memories of conversations with my father and mother came up again and the strife we had at your establishment. The bedsores he had the rest of his life - because as the skin thins from them the skin is never the same - that he accrued under your care remained till the end of his days. The video that Mom sent me at the time, where the aids put him down when she pulled out her phone to record, ignoring his pleas for care, still is haunting. If you have your ship in order now, that's fine. Good for you, but however, I wouldn't trust your company, recommend your company for anything. When we moved out, we saved almost 6,000 a month from what you charged us a month during the pandemic, where you kept upping the care costs to over 13,000 a month. We moved to somewhere with better care, that was 7,600 a month for his care and for mom to stay with him. I never had my parents calling me, pleading with me before you, nor after you. We suspected this was all reprisal at the time because people thought they had called the Omsbudsman and complained. However, THEY had not, but they sure had thought about it - but were concerned things would get worse. In hindsight, I wish we could have called them immediately when they started to have problems. That is what I would recommend to anyone with issues with your facility, call the Ombudsmanif you have any problems. For anyone curious about them you are in: Ombudsman Region: Region 10B, which covers Portage, Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties. Phone: 800-421-7277 or 330-899-5250 It's fine to get your ship in order now - and I truly hope you have, but people have long memories. When you cheat people and hurt people - they remember. Dad has since passed, and Mom is not in an assisted living. I'm sorry you don't like the review, but it's here, and I stand behind it.

The building itself is always clean, homey and well-decorated (non-institutional). Much thought has been given to creating a pleasant experience for visitors and residents alike. Garden areas are wonderful during spring, summer and fall for walks, bird watching, gardening. There are plenty of events, celebrations to meet various interests/abilities. They have just built a new addition which was handled in such a creative, thoughtful way -- residents' lives remained normal and calm despite construction. Plus, it is beautiful! Most important, I am thrilled with the level of care, concern and genuine affection/compassion the staff provides and exhibits toward my mother, as well as the other residents. Patience, understanding, creativity and sense of family are very evident whether a resident's family member is present or not. Nurses and caregivers have gone out of their way to meet my mother's needs and mine as well -- so I'd don't need to guess how she is doing. They share anecdotes of what she's said or done during the day; if she's happy, sad; ate well/or not so well; was up all night or slept well -- without my asking. This is very important to me as her primary caregiver. They are truly extensions of me and do it better than I ever could at this point in her journey. We are both blessed to have found such a wonderful place for her to live.
