You can sit where you want which is a huge plus, I think more Stadiums should do that. At half time you can buy stuff and got pitchside. Take pictures next to the pitch. It's great, I recommend it!

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - even though I go to Hamilton fairly regularly when on tour or travelling, I've only visited this stadium once, and I wasn't impressed. I actually thought the old one was a little more grand and fitting for a club of this size. The facilities are shiny and new, but just not big enough. And the turf grass makes you feel like you're at a training match. I will go back and see the stadium a second time, though, as I always try and visit stadiums whenever I drive through towns. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later. Also, when back in Scotland I plan to take more pix, and add more stadia! So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** This is the new stadium of Hamilton Academical, and it's very modern and cute. It's in their red and white colours and holds just 6k people since opening in 2001. It currently has "Tigerturf" which sounds fun but is actually just plastic. In fact, the only reason the stadium has 6k capacity is that it's the league minimum. The stand that took it up to 6k is a temporary one. It's a fine new stadium though and serves the purpose.

If pets could drive, then there would be a lot of fur on the roads, but where would the Fur Park?…read more First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I watched Motherwell play here when I was a kid. It was one of only 3 Scottish stadiums I went to as a kid. We were standing up and it was pretty freezing and hellish but still fun. Then I saw Motherwell play here again during the 00s when I was at college in Oxford. They'd jazzed up the ground a bit and the supporters were louder than ever. I have been back twice this decade, in 2011 and 2014, neither time to see a game, but both times to relive old memories. The stadium looks as old as always... if it ever gets a major face lift I might give it five stars, because I love this team. But it certainly is a place that generates a fantastic atmosphere and I feel lucky to have been here. So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** Motherwell's stadium holds almost 14k people and has been around since the old days of 1895. It's not too far from Glasgow but let's not hold that against it. It's a big, awesome stadium although the corners are open and they need to fill those in to improve the atmosphere. It's coloured beautiful red and yellow like the team. The Scottish Women's Football Team calls this stadium home, too.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I was lucky enough to visit this stadium shortly after it opened, in 2000. Then I was here again in 2011, and I have to say they let it go a little bit in just 11 years. It needs a bit of a clean up and some more fans to fill it on match days. One of these days I'll experience a full live game here, but it's definitely not a great stadium and has an artificial pitch. However the Airdrie fans make quite a ruckus. So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** The stadium has hosted Airdrie teams since 1998, and is known as New Broomfield to some. It has an artificial pitch. Queens Park played here for awhile. It's new and modern and fancy and a lot of people say it has no atmosphere. It's a lot bigger than a lot of Scottish stadiums. It hosted Motherwell's European adventures recently.

Clifton Hill is in Niagara Falls... no?…read more First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I saw Albion Rovers play here and it was like watching my own amateur team in Buffalo, NY play in the park! I wanted to jump in and help. They played well but it was just funny to see them in such tiny surroundings. It was the mid-00s. I had a good time, and people were nice, but the stadium doesn't really exist, it's slated for demolition... so it scores 2. So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** I don't know how anyone can really call this a stadium, it's just a park. American high schools have a lot more seats than this 1k capacity "stadium." Shame because the team that plays there is so cute. It's been slated for demolition for ages but it still lives on as one of the smallest league grounds in any country anywhere in the world. It's been around since 1919, and amazingly Hamilton Academical and Dumbarton once played here briefly but right now it's just Albion.

The fault lies mainly at the door of the local population, in one of the biggest towns in Scotland (Coatbridge). This once thriving steel town is a shadow of it's former self, with town centre no longer an attraction to many. Local infrastructure now means that football fans can jump on a train, bus, car, etc. and be in Celtic Park, or Ibrox Stadium, in around 15 - 25 mins. depending on their allegience. The choice is watch Rovers vs Berwick Rangers or one of the Old Firm perform in the SPL - it's a no brainer.
