There's a zip wire, a climbing wall, some form of big swinging disk thing and numerous other structures bringing unadulterated joy to me...and probably little kids as well. During the day this playground is absolutely rammed with screaming children as mothers discuss the latest issue of glamour or yesterday's tea party. This is the time to avoid, mainly because you'll look a bit weird swinging with a load of 5 year olds (careful those of you with innuendo based minds). In the evening though, or better in the small hours of the morning, this is a drunkard's paradise. Everything becomes so much more amazing...and more difficult. Whether it be the swings, the climbing frame or simply the spinning disk then it is a joy. Also the playground is one of the best places to meet fellow boozehounds, there's a real community of idiots there. A word of warning though, when on the swings, make sure you don't look at the hypno-disk, it will definitely make you feel queasy at the least. Several paved paths within the park are good for scooters and kids' bikes. It's pretty quiet here. It has never been crowded when we've played here. The playground has baby swings, a tire swing, slide, merry-go-round, see-saw, and large climbing pyramid all set on a recycled rubber (soft) surface. There are also benches inside the playground area. The hedges shield the park from the busy road below and the other 3 sides are surrounded by tenement buildings. It always feels very peaceful here!

Sporting the sort of climbing frame I quite fancy a go of myself, the area has a nice wee playpark and plenty of room for running around. Being near Partick police station it should be safe, however it can be a little shady at night and is best avoided after dark.

I liked one lioness/panther sculpture in particular that had been presented by a John S. Kennedy, not sure what the S stands for. The paths could be confusing on first attempt, though I found I could consult my phone to help me find which path to take. A number of critters were out in the greenery the few times I walked through in July 2019. The hotel where I was staying had a small parking lot that was first-come first-serve, so I did most of my exploring on foot. Kelvingrove Park was one option if I wanted to take in the nature of Glasgow and did not want to walk along the street.

Instead, it has a few select simple but highly child friendly, entertaining traditional ploys or 'toys' (is that the correct word?). These are: a slide, a swing (with protective seat for wee tots) and a spring(y) bike toy. Maybe not quite the thing for thrill seeking older kids but for little 'uns pretty perfect. It also has more than enough benches for parents (possibly for those times when there's a domestic in progress?) and a well designed litter bin. I've managed to have a rather pleasant day out with the boy and his two young nephews here (though, the pub lunch after handing them back to the parents was the best part of the day...). So all in all, a lovely, local, play park for young kiddies and given how quiet it often is when I walk past, one which is often overlooked.

A promisingly stressful day spend keeping beady eyes on a litter of running children was rather less stressful due to this little number. The children, still ran right enough, but at least the younger ones were suitably entertained and mesmerised by the castle like play structure, so ran around that for an hour or so. Meanwhile, the older children were entertained and mesmerised by watching oh-so-cool teenagers in the skate-park. Now for the history. This skateboard park seems to have been here forever. In a way, it has - well since 1951. Since then there has been a roller skating/skateboard arena here with renewed versions being unveiled in 1978 and finally 2004. There is also a substantial play area with slides, swings and a whole variety of hide-y wholes in a multicoloured wooden castle structure. There's a soft play artificial surface below for safety precautions too. All areas covered, so it's all good for the kids!

It's insanity squared and multiplied by infinity.. with ice cream around it's face. Plonked in a wee unassuming patch in fair Partick, the exterior of this joint lies. It's a darn durty lie. For behind the single door lies an epic sprawling area of soft play and what feels like a land of marshall law. Kids rule here. Parents can be found covering in corners supping on quadruple espressos, rocking back and forth muttering something about the apocalypse and how nice it might be right about now. Oh please dear reader, please do not take this to be a negative review or indeed that I don't love spending time with my kids. Please just show this review to a parent and see if they begin nodding and a tear forms at the side of their eye (or both). It serves food. It has seats, it's a little rough around the edges, but that's never a complaint you'll here from a 3 year old as they whip through the place dressed as a princess on a Peppa Pig trike with chocolate stains around their mouth and devilment in their tiny little eyes.... the apocalypse could be nice right about now

This was out first visit, having been to Wonder World a good few times, but choosing to come here as it opens earlier. Comparing it to somewhere like like Wonder World is always going to be a tough gig, basically this place has it's pros and cons. Pros: - serves a good cuppa and at £1 for a large mug is cheap! - wide range of toys, from ride ons to trucks to giant dance mats for kids to play with on top of the soft play area - breakfast rolls looked good (I never tried one) but all are under £2 - lots of seating (& highchairs) including a few comfy if worn couches - staff are lovely Cons: - smells a bit damp (I feel a bit blurgh just writing that but I really put me off) - areas of the soft play are really quite worn out & in need of replacing - some of the toys need cleaned or binned! - there are signs everywhere in relation to food - they don't like you bringing your own food in, totally understand this when they sell food, but show me the parents of a small child who don't carry bribery snacks?? And when your child insists on eating that exact thing are you supposed to leave? All in all this place is pretty okay for the entry fee charged. I can't help but feel it could be improved quite easily though with a bit of care and attention.

The park has a long history and has been around since 1895. The area reviewed is the playground area right in back of House for an Art Lover. It's large and spaced out with winding paths and different interactive exhibits. The cool thing is you can play on every sculpture in the garden so this is one of the few times you won't be telling your kids "no touching" around art pieces. The seesaw and slide look like they are made from scaled up erector sets and have really nice colors. I could not find the elephant and the large wooden structure is fenced off so it seems like someone must have gotten hurt there.

(apparently, the tourism board should also sound like a 14 year old girl...) I'm not going to beat around the bush here (heh), I walked 15 minutes out of my way to go to this park. Sure, I was headed in the general direction but this gal can't pass up a good FTR (First To Review), and so park trekking it was. And as parks go, this one is pretty spiffy. Maybe not walk 15 minutes out of your way spiffy, but it's clean, the play space is bright, spacious and apparently "not for adults" and they've got a nice little set of picnic benches for when it isn't crazy cold/windy/raining (i'm told this magical moment happens in June). Not a destination park in any sense, i'm sure it would be a lovely find if I lived in the neighbourhood and a great spot to take the little ones!

George Square Gardens is located just in the middle of some of the ugliest buildings in Edinburgh…read more(you know who you are Appleton Tower) However, this garden is well laid out and surprisingly big. If the Meadows are too crowded to be in then by all means come here to chill (just turn your back to the Library). There's a Labyrinth thingy on one side- it's not really a labyrinth more like a self-meditating maze and often I have seen people concentrating hard as they walk around it. I myself am probably too shallow to understand its meaning on finding my true self and so have instead raced friends to the end of it (each starting at a different side). During the Festival this Garden gets even prettier- they put large paper lanterns, a bar and wooden swings around and it's great to chill in with a great buzz of people!
