Oh my goodness! Last evening I ate at hamburger mikes and I was blown away! I wanna start by saying I was an avid meat eater until last month when I switched to a plant based vegan lifestyle. I say that because I was invited to a "hamburger joint" by a friend and when I got there was I ever shocked! Multiple vegan/vegetarian items as well as a vegan special! An impossible burger "meat" turned into a philly with vegan mozzarella and peppers onions and mushrooms in a pita. Soooooooo amazing! I let 2 of my meat eater friends try it and they were amazed! We had a coupon and extra sky miles otherwise I wouldn't have bothered eating here. What we ate proved my suspicions right. The wife had the 1/4 pound burger with sweet potato fries. I had the 1/3 pound burger with onion rings. If we hadn't loaded them up at the condiment bar they would have had no flavor at all. I had mine on the Texas toast. I hate that this restaurant isn't closer to my area, but I was glad to discover this hole-in-the-wall place anyway! Being a vegan, it's always hard to eat out, but here I was able to get an impossible burger with daiya vegan cheese (which also comes with a vegan bun or a lettuce wrap, if you want, as well as vegan mayo), a side of fries, and a sweet tea. My friend also ordered one of their milkshakes, and it was love at first sip! Everything was really tasty, and the staff were super friendly and nice. The whole place had a welcoming atmosphere. I enjoyed my visit here. It gives me an old school diner feel. Everything we had was pretty tasty. I would recommend the burgers. They were seasoned well and you can customize the toppings with the cart next to the counter. There sign says they have the best burgers in town so my wife and I had to go check it out. The burger were really delicious and I love the fresh topping counter. I got the 1/4 lb burger with Swiss cheese and Mushrooms with onion rings on the side. My wife got the 1/2 lb with American Cheese and fries on the side. Everything was fulfilling and oh so tasty. You can ring a horn by the door if you liked the food and We did. We will definitely be coming back. P.S. If you're looking for a good home cooked burger, and tired of those franchise burgers (McDonalds, Burger King) I highly recommend coming here. The customer service is on point, and you're able to build your own burger with a toppings bar located on the wall. This section always looks clean and is freshly stocked with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. Other than the burgers, I also recommend the Philly Cheese Steak--which I also think is excellent. The steak meat has a good seasoned taste, which a lot of times is hard to find when a restaurant doesn't specialize in making philly's. When I first caught this ad in the local mailer, I thought to myself "Best hamburger in Henry County shouldn't be that hard to do". Well, apparently it is because I'm sure that you could get a better burger at Ruby Tuesdays, Chili's or any other number of places. Was it disgusting? No. I would say it's about average. He advertises Angus meat which is fine, but in my experience Angus meat is not that great. Angus is sorta bland & tasteless, which is exactly what the burgers ended up being. Any trained chef knows that the whole Angus craze is all just marketing and it's not that different than normal beef. Certified Angus Beef brand has many imitators with sub par specifications...but that's another story altogether. Back to the burger...The buns are really good size and taste good. The meat was tender and the patties are a decent size but again, not that tasty. Now he does give you a free condiment bar where you can load up on everything, which is fine but that's not why I get a burger to begin with. One Yelper below says the patties are frozen and I don't know if that's true. I will say that the sweet potato fries tasted like the ones we buy in the frozen section at the store. They dust the fries with confectionery sugar which makes them super tasty! The service was great though, every one in there was really nice and courteous. It is a little pricey for what you get. I mean when someone says they are the best, I expect the best. We recently bought some organic meat & made our own burgers on the grill that would beat this place easily. One last thing I would do if I was the owner would be to get rid of that old carpet in the place because as soon as you open the door you can smell that thing! read more

I've noticed a mixed bag as far as reviews. I have never been to the original store so my perspective is solely based on this restaurant. I personally like the owner. He is no nonsense, and pretty funny. It is a dry humor, but appreciated. Anyone that has a problem with how he is speaking to them, is probably speaking to him in the same manner. What they may be forgetting is that this is not a chain or franchise so if you are being rude or belligerent he may not grin and bear it like a franchise. I find this refreshing. You aren't paying for the ambience. All the furniture and decor is relatively cheap. I'm fine with this because all I care about is the food. I don't want to pay for ambience. The food is very good and simple. It's a standard burger joint, with several other options for those that do no want burgers. Probably no more than 10 items on the menu. The burgers are very good, but not great. However, for the price you are paying I would say the burgers are great. You definitely get a good bang for your buck. I think the best thing about this place is the condiment station. It allows you to make your sandwich just the way you like. And don't forget about the desserts. Their desserts are amazing. How do you want your burger well done or well done? That's what their slogan might as well be because I requested mines medium rare and it was well done. It's pretty irritating ordering the largest burger they have and it coming out extremely well done and dry. So I receive my inedible burger after waiting 45 minutes for it and there were only four other people in there. Thank God they had a patio because it's only May but I guess because of the open grill area and the AC being on 70 it was boiling hot inside the restaurant. I asked for iced tea and had to wait twenty minutes for the cashier to make it. I thought I had been passing this place for years since the huge hamburder on the side of the building had been implanted into my psyche, but the owner confirmed they had been opened for only 10 months...lol...anyway, I had been telling myself for a while that I would definitey stop in to see if the burger really was the "best hamburger in town." First off, we were greeted by the friendly gentleman at the register who I thought was Mike, but appears from the other reviews, it may have been Bruce. Regardless of that, the service was excellent. There was quite a crowd and that boosted my confidence in the establishment. I loved the fact that the burgers could be ordered to individual preference, they had different types of cheeses including provolone which is a rare find in the south and some interesting sides including the Irish Chilli which was very tasty! The toppings bar was also very clean, stocked and well kept. The onion rings were delicious, too. Hubby ordered sweet potato fries and ate most of my onion rings instead. I do agree that for the price, the sides are small, but other than that, the overall experience was great. The ambiance is good for a quick comfy bite in the neighborhood between shopping or running errands and I'm glad to that it's fairly close to our home. read more

I went in the other night when I got off work and I was extremely disappointed. It was my first time there so I had no expectations. First no-one even acknowledged me entering the restaurant and when I get to the counter this tall guy just looked at me. Not, can I help you or anything. Then as I'm about to order he answers the phone without even an, "excuse me". After he gets off the phone, still never acknowledged me he goes to the back. Needless to say I wasn't going to spend my hard earned, so I left and will NEVER return! With me being a barber I let all my clients know also. I am definitely a fan of Hamburger Mike's. The Angus beef hamburgers here are really tasty. Made from 80% angus beef sourced from a local Buckhead meat market (yeah I asked) the buyers are juicy and hit the spot every time. The burgers are cooked to order and passed to the customer to dress at the toppings bar... I love to support locally owned businesses and Hamburger Mike's makes the task an easy one. I've eaten at other locations before but this was my best experience. Everything was done right. I got the hamburger + hot dog combo. Both buns were buttered and grilled. The burger was cooked perfectly. All the vegetables were fresh, green and washed. Every necessary condiment was included. (Yes, that means mayonnaise when you're talking about a burger!) The fries were hot and had a light crispy coating. When I took a bite it made me think of what great fries would taste like at a fair or carnival! Oh and the employees were very friendly and helpful. I met my friend for lunch and we both got an Impossible Burger. The place was clean. The staff was courteous. Our food was prepared quickly. We were AMAZED at how good this burger was. I saw the raw patties, so I know what I'm talking about. I would expect a restaurant that specializes in burgers enough to put in their name to use fresh meat. The onion rings were awesome. I'm certain their frozen prepared too, this place seems big on just being so so, but the onion rings were great Thank you for having so many side items for your combos, some of us get tired of only being offered fries, so it was a nice change.
