We don't write this review lightly as we were regular customers of See and Be Seen.  We have always…read moretrusted them with our daughter's glasses since she was in Grade 2 (now 6).  Their service had always been great helping our daughter pick out glasses that suited her and making sure she felt comfortable in what she was wearing.  The price point was always higher than what we wanted to pay but we didn't let that bother us cause she would be a glasses/contact wearer the rest of her life so we wanted to make sure she was somewhere that made her comfortable. Unfortunately our recent experience is one that will ensure was our last visit to this establishment.  Our daughter, for the first time, snapped her glasses in half at the bridge.  We rushed to See and Be Seen Liberty Village to sort out a new pair for her.  They fit her quickly with a new pair of glasses for almost $900 and told us that they would typically be ready in 7-10 days but that they would put a rush on it so hopefully it would arrive earlier.  Seven days later we reached out to the store to find out if they would be arriving soon only to be told that they were still in the lab.  We were assured that someone at See and Be Seen would follow up with the lab because there was a rush on the order and provide us an update but worst case it would arrive early the following week.  We never heard back. On day 11 (early the following week) we still had not heard anything about the glasses so we decided to follow up.  Again we were told the order was still with the lab and there was no update.  This is when we realized no one had originally done the follow up.  At this point we escalated the issue and were told that they would follow up with the lab to ensure there is a rush on the order and get an estimate on when they would be delivered.  We requested a refund and was told the Director would need to address this.    When speaking with the Director we were told no refund could be done as the lenses had already been ordered and that the original timeline was 7-10 business days but could be as long as 10-14 business days.  We reiterated what we were told in store but was told repeatedly that would be impossible as their staff are all trained on business days. We asked to speak to the owner of the store and to this day have not heard back from them.  Our biggest issue is the lack of accountability from all parties involved.  My wife, daughter and I all heard 7-10 days but apparently that would be entirely impossible from their perspective.  To top this all off their best advice was for us to buy another pair of glasses (with a free lenses offer) for situations like this.  I'm not sure how many people can afford a $500 pair of glasses as a back up.  We finally received the glasses on day 13 after they had finally followed up with the lab.  I'm sure other people have had great experiences with them as we also had in the past.  But this last experience has certainly been the most ridiculous for us and will be the last time we purchase from this establishment.

The optometrist is amazing: she did a full and professional eye exam, she took her time with a very caring approach and explained me everything she was doing. They got many models and famous brand and some frames are even as low as 200$. I highly recommend this place!

I had purchased a couple (pricey) sunglasses online; when I received them, the arms were too wide. I googled eyeglass repair shops and this place was among the first couple establishments suggested. Desperate for any form of help and/or advice, I stopped by the place. The owner (sorry, I forgot his name) was so incredibly helpful. As challenging as it was to make adjustments due to the style of the glasses, he was able to figure out a solution. I was so ecstatic!!! Not only did he amend the alignment of the temple arms so I could now wear my glasses, he did so expecting NO COMPENSATION! I was so eternally grateful, I persisted to INSIST he accept my offer of payment. Afterward, he gave me a lovely token (glasses care products). I'm am in AWE of his kindness and professionalism! I can't stress enough how important this is as I'm well aware eyeglasses are a high margin, high reward industry I've always been reluctant to purchase eye-ware at the same storefront. My reading/working glasses were also a great fit and I'm growing very attached to the fit and lens choice.

Horrible experience at Eyes by Design. I trusted Jennifer's professional advice upon purchasing my…read moreglasses. She suggested me to take a picture and see which frame looks best, which was unprofessional and shows her lack of expertise. She did not explained the pros and cons of the frames and make recommendations based on my prescription. Without knowing I was provided with bad advice, I paid $850 for the Gucci glasses and ended up getting a pair of $800 Kate Spade glasses that causes pain to my nose bridge and behind my ears, leaving deep red marks. Submitted a Google review with full honesty that their staff Jennifer suggested me to purchase the Gucci frames. Jennifer then lied about this situation by replying back saying I chose to purchase the frames despite her recommendations. This experience shows that Jennifer does not take accountability for her mistake and put blame on their customers for what happened.

Booked an appointment for my teenage son to have eye exam at Bailey Nelson Queen East in Toronto…read more After the exam yesterday the doctor did not want to speak with me. I actually tried to speak with her. I thought that was odd. The manager of the store relayed the message that my son could benefit from Blue Light glasses. We then went through the process of selecting those. Fast forward to this afternoon. The store manager calls, leaves a voicemail, telling me that they have made a referral and that my 15 year old knows about it. He didn't. I call back and ask what's up. I'm told that the doctor, in an abundance of caution, is concerned enough to refer my son to another level of clinic to assess the issue that he brought to their attention. The manager called because she felt the doctor behaved oddly by not speaking to me. While I'm happy for the referral, I am a bit disappointed that, between the doctor and the store manager, I was expected to hear of the doctor's concern via a teenage boy. Anyway, all of this is to say you may want to consider a different shop. In my experience optometrists elsewhere do actually speak with parents of kids about what is necessary to keep the kids healthy. This place sort of does that, though you may have to wait 24 hours and hope that the manager comes to feel a bit off about the doctor to the point of calling to let you know herself
