Unfortunately, he has also experienced an extraordinary number of serious health problems. These have included panosteitis, TPLO surgery, severe hotspots that became large and ulcerated (we paid dearly for a dog dermatologist and for specialized light therapies to heal his skin), pancreatitis, dietary issues requiring lifelong expensive special food, discoid lupus erythematosus, and optic nerve hypoplasia that has left him blind in one eye since birth. It feels like every time we finally identify and learn how to manage one chronic condition, another one appears. His medical care has easily exceeded the already high cost of purchasing him. Prospective buyers should be aware of our experience. Our king GSD is a lovely dog, but it has been heartbreaking to watch him suffer through so many painful and expensive medical problems.

He wasn't fully house trained, had some digestive issues, and my resident dog was very stressed. With an upcoming move and job search, I knew I couldn't give him the stability he needed, so I reached out to rescues. Tami, initially responded quickly and asked for photos. Once I sent them, though, the tone shifted -- she began questioning why I was giving him up and seemed to judge me for not being able to make it work. When I explained my situation, she stopped responding altogether. I left that exchange feeling really discouraged. I've always supported rescues and even fostered myself these past few months, but this interaction turned me off from rescuing in the future. I know not all rescues are like this, but it was a reminder that communication and compassion really matter when someone is reaching out for help. I'm sharing this in case anyone else has gone through something similar -- and to say, if you get a cold or judgmental response from one rescue, don't give up. There are rescues that will support both you and the dog with kindness. Thankfully, another reputable rescue met us with grace and has offered help. I only wish the Maltese rescue had chosen not to reach out after we filled out their long surrender application, instead of leaving us feeling judged and unsupported.

Maisie needed socialization and had anxiety at the time of adoption. We work and continue to work with her to help her confidence. I got to take her home the same day and care for her myself . She is recuperating nicely. They had the best price of anyone that was local to me. I chose to wait for her since I had an 1.5 hour drive and the location is within walking distance to Carlsbad Village and the Ocean and it was a beautiful day to walk around. 3 days after the surgery I was preparing to submit my claim to my pet insurance company and they had already done that for me. Excellent Customer and Patient service. I would give them 10 stars but you only allow 5. Surgipet make a stressful situation very easy and pleasant for me and my girl.

Very easy to communicate with…read more This was my first trying run this place on October 3rd. I was hesitant because my fluffy cat hadn't been to a groomer in years ( they closed) and my short hair kitty had never been to a groomer at all. I let the groomer know this and let them know that the short hair kitty doesn't like his hands being touched, so I wasn't sure if he would get his nails trimmed. Not sure if I needed to be there or not in case a blood bath would happen They reassured me that Angel is great with cats and that he would be fine. I got there about 7:50am and Angel let me go in early with the furkids. The place was nice and clean and no vibes! I dropped them off and Angel told me it would take about 3 hrs and he'll call me when they were done. I waited out front in the car with my Mom. When they were ready, they called and I went inside to pick them up. They looked fantastic and smelled so good. They were calm, no look of discomfort or panic, so hopefully things went well. Even after a week of being home, they still smelled great and the short haired baby smelled good a week after that. They also both had matching bandanas which was adorable! We'll go to this place again and hope they make a closer location.
