Well, it's definitely the place to go if you want a high school reunion. Their rib quality has definitely decreased over the years, but their potato skins are still awesome. This can be a townie bar sometimes but I always have a good time here. They have great drink specials every day and above average food for being a bar first. I love their thin crust pizza and they have a great special for it on Tuesday's. I have had many of their appetizers and sandwiches and haven't been disappointed, the All-Star sandwich is top notch! Inside they have a lot of tables to sit at and there are also a couple pool tables, dart boards, a punching bag game, buckhunter, and a TON of TV's. All the makings of a good bar. Great place to go and watch sports games. This place is especially fun in the summer months because they have a HUGE back patio with another bar outside. Every night of the week they have Sand volleyball leagues playing on their two large courts that are overlooked by the patio. I play Vball during the week there and have come in on the weekends and it's always a good time either during the week or on the weekends. Good subs; wait great subs! Great thin crust pizzas. Cold beer (albeit served in a plastic cup) but they are one of the few places with Miller 64 on tap! The employees here are always nice and friendly and totally enjoy going here. In fact, I believe I need to stop in on Saturday. Halftime is definitely a townie bar, but I've never felt out of place here. They have really good food, and we always make sure we order cheese balls as our appetizer. The thin crust pizza is very tasty, and I've even seen other bars in McHenry advertising that they now serve Halftime pizza. When you walk in be sure to check out the wall for their current drink specials. They have prices that you rarely find in places these days. They have plenty of tvs for sports, but it's not the ideal place for the extreme fantasy football fans that want to watch every play of every game. read more

Just ordered for delivery.. We live about 10 minutes from them. They took 1. 5 hours to deliver. Told us it would be about an hour. The driver was lost... Didn't bother calling us or the restaurant to let them know he was lost. We called to ask were the food was and they kept saying it was on its way..... Our pizza was delivered cold. We sent it back. Halftimes in Johnsburg is your typical sports bar. The food higher quality than most, and as long as it's not packed and under staffed the service is pretty good for a sports bar. If you have found yourself sitting here wondering what to order try the "All-Star." It's a beef sandwich with mozzarella cheese, and there is something about the way they make it. The roll stays crispy on the outside but the cheese and beef make it soft and delicious when you bite in. Apps are good, burger is par, and the pizza is also very good. Just picked up our take-out order and you can see them back in the kitchen no one had masks on or gloves on and the one guy was coughing and food was being flopped on prep area which is also a big no-no. Greatest potato skins ever!!!! They literally scoop out the potato, and fill it with bacon. 4 cheese pizza is really good too, and I normally wouldn't get just cheese. Chicken ranch pizza good also. Sandwiches are good too, though their burgers can sometimes be hit or miss, but the chicken and steak sandwiches are usually good. Regarding the food service, delivery is a better option than trying to eat there, unless it's during the week, or not a peak time, like Friday or Sat night. good luck getting a waitress then. read more

Bar food. All you can eat ribs is just that, you don't get seconds on fries or slaw. Tried a pizza slice within our group and tasted yummy, could have been bc I was still waiting on my ribs....I'd try it again but not make a special effort to get there. Our food this evening was amazing, as always. Our waitress wanted nothing to do with us. She would walk away making snarky remarks under her breath, acted frustrated with us, and also cleared our table while we were outside. If that doesn't ask you to leave, I'm not sure what does. Our table works in this industry and have never received service like we did this evening . Maybe she needs a week off to reevaluate whether or not this is the industry for her.
