Food was cold and not seasoned very well , was hoping for some good ribs but unfortunately they were not

This place is mediocre at best. Baked beans were so smoked they were inedible almost like they were scraped off the bottom of a burnt pan, burnt ends were chewy. I've never had burnt ends that weren't moist and tender. Other people with us did say the ribs and onion rings were good. I personally would never go back. We were at a store next door and the bbq smelled good. That was definitely where the good stopped. After 45 minutes of waiting they seated a table of 6 next to us. 15 minutes later we were told it would absolutely not be more than 5 more minutes. 7 minutes later she said that our food was coming up, she was taking care of our drinks and asking the manager to take care of the food. After making two trips to bring the food to the table next to us, she brought out our food. The bbq was dry, and apparently the manager said no, because we had to pay. read more

We were staying at the Margaritaville resort for a family reunion and had read some great reviews on HalfSauced and called them to see if they could do an order for 40 of us later that night; Not only did Andrea and the HSB crew get it done, they got it done in an incredible way. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken and ribs for our gathering and they were all amazing, the pulled pork and the ribs were my personal favorite. For our sides, the obligatory creamy cole slaw was fantastic and the baked beans were also killer. I didn't personally have the green beans but the entire order of them was devoured (guess they were pretty good). Hands down amazing! Sweet bbq sauce and mustard bbq are delicious, meats are smoked to perfection, and the sides were so much more than expected. Met the owner (Andrea) as well, super sweet and very genuine, you can tell she loves what they do. We plan to use them to cater our wedding next year in the Ozarks, cannot wait to have the food again! Oh and the front sign is hilarious! read more

We placed a catering order for pick up right when they opened on a Saturday. When we arrived there were 3 people waiting for them to open. They got them seated checked with us, confirmed everything in the order and then insisted they carry it out to the vehicle for us. I can not tell you the number of compliments we received on the food. They even called the next day to make sure everything was good. They price was very reasonable for what you get and the quality was excellent. read more

So let me start with saying this is my first trip to Missouri and I am use to the BBQ in the South (the Carolinas). My son and I both got the 4 meat sampler and had them add the Smoke Sausage. Our wife's both had the Half Smoked Chicken. the chicken was very good. Now on to the sampler. Very disappointed. The ribs were basically burnt and dry. Almost as if they had been sitting out for a good long while. Brisket, very dry. Burnt end, not the best I have ever had, but certainly not the worst. Pulled pork, dry and no smoke flavor unless you decided to smother it with sauce. Smoked Sausage, it was ok, but kind of hard to mess that one up. The beans were cooked a way I was not familiar with, but they were ok. The potato salad was pretty good. I guess with all the talk about BBQ (Kansas City style), I was expecting much more. Pretty disappointed.. spent 10 minutes in the drive thru watching all the employees mill around and NOONE acknowledged me sitting there. If your not going to give your drive thru customers service too than please don't have one. Or at least acknowledge that someone is sitting there. Grrrr read more

Everything we had here was so good! Our waitress was incredible and very informative. We had a large group so we had a variety of items they offered on the menu...brisket, ribs, pulled pork, smoked turkey, pulled chicken. You can't go wrong with any of these choices! This was some of the best smoked barbecue I've ever encountered, including my own. We got there during their busy time, but the staff was prompt and friendly. We didn't have to wait for seating, and barely had to wait to order. Annabel was a great waitress, not too overbearing and not too neglectful. Cheerful and charming was she. The food was plentiful and priced right. Their pit beans could be a meal in and of themselves. Go there if you are in Osage Beach. It's worth it. read more

We got the combo meat but had double pulled pork (excellent flavor and moist), pit beans (I ate that down quickly. Oh so good), and the potato salad which had some nice flavors in it. The BBQ was really good. Had the sampler platter. Brisket was tender, burnt ends were near perfect, and the ribs were nice and tender. This is real BBQ not imitation. Easily the BEST brisket I have ever eaten! The brisket didnt need a knife, they were smoked to perfection and made me shut up and eat . The ribs were extremely tender and fabulously tasty. Our sides (Cole slaw, potato salad, baked potato, fries, pit beans, & spoon bread) were well made and plentiful. The service was excellent, welcoming and accommodating (one of us made a lot of substitutions ). The worst part of the meal was when the food was gone. Super slow service the day we were in but good food and quite a vaue for the money which is not the norm in a lot of the KC places. $6.95 order of onion rings app was huge and an order of cheese fries the same (don't recall the price). BBQ was good and Smokey. Had the burnt ends but sampled the pulled pork and that was probably what I should have had as it had much more of he Smokey flavor. read more

We finally got around to trying Half Sauced last weekend. It was a very good choice. I could complain that they were out of ribs and pork steaks - probably their biggest sellers - but most good BBQ places do tend to run out in the evening, so I figure it comes with the territory. There were four of us, two adults and two kids, so we decided to build a family style BBQ dinner. We weren't all that smart about it as we duplicated a couple of items. Anyway, we ended up trying the wings, ribs, pulled pork, brisket and burnt ends. They were all at least very good. The pork and brisket were a little dry and definitely required sauce, but all of it had a great taste. My favorites were the wings and burnt ends. The kids didn't want to try the burnt ends due to the name. Okay, more for me, then. For sides, we had fries, cheese fries and pit beans. They were also all really good. Food was good! I ordered the Pork Belly Burnt Ends special (first night they made it) and it was amazing (even great cold according to my boyfriend)! Boyfriend ordered the burnt ends and smoked chicken and he felt like the sauce over powered the flavor of the meat. I'm from Indiana, so get me into the South and I'm impressed by pretty much any BBQ you throw at me. I met some friends for lunch at Halfsauced and yep...was very impressed. When I walked in the door I could smell smoky meat. My first thought was, "Oh my gosh, they are actually cooking the meat here!" Feel sorry for us, Southerners. I went with the pulled pork sandwich - seemed like the right thing to do - with the smoky beans. Friday night 6:15 showed up, put our name in for a family of 5. After 25-30 min we were asked if a booth was fine. We have young kids so that worked. We were guided to a dirty table that they had to bus and clean first. Sat near two other couples in booths that came in after us, but were seated before us. We already chose what we were ordering while we waited so as soon as the server came we began our order. After the first person ordered, we were given a two minute warning that a table of 12 just ordered so he's not sure how long it will take??? (That's how restaurants work right? People order and you prepare the food, in the order it comes) It's a BBQ place! Hopefully the food was cooked over the last several hours. We were told they were busier than expected?! So you were expecting only a few customers to come to your restaurant tonight for dinner? Seemed like a strange comment/excuse for food being slow. I would think you are prepared everyday for a full restaurant several times over. 7:02 food came. I didn't mind the wait, but the staff stressed several times that it was long. We got the sampler - brisket and burnt ends were good, pulled pork good, ribs were quite dry. Sauces were nothing award winning, run of the mill. Put beans tasted like smoke. Apple sauce was good. Server walked around and made verbal notes to himself, 'you need more water' not 'would you like more water'. Most of his talk didn't seem to be to us. AMAZING!!! I had the beef brisket sandwich with 2 sides. The beef brisket was moist and cooked to perfection. I requested the fatty side of the brisket and a lady came out and asked me how I knew to order it that way. Our local bbq place back home gives us a choice and I thought that was an option everywhere. Lots of flavor. The sides I had were beans and onion rings with spicy horseradish. Yummy. We were excited to try this place, and I really wanted to rate it much higher. The environment was cozy, and wait staff was friendly at first. Our order was taken rather quickly, and then it all started going down hill. We waited over an hour for our food, and when we asked our server for an update, she snapped at us saying she did not know. She further complained about not getting any communication from the back, and the inexperienced cook. When the food finally arrived, it was a mixed bag. My wife and I split the sampler plate. This entree was great, the brisket and burnt ends were amazing. My daughter got the kids cheeseburger, and it was horrible. She refused to eat more then 1 bite, and she loves burgers. I thought she was being picky, so I took a bite, and it was gross. I could not pinpoint what it was, but it was just bad. We notified the server, and she offered to bring us something different. She said the pulled pork sandwich was the fastest option, so we went with that. Well, unfortunately it never made it out to our table. The server kept coming by saying it should be out soon, but it was obviously not the fastest option, since we waited 20 minutes and then finally told the server to just stop the order of the pulled pork sandwich as my daughter just ate off of our plate and everyone else was done. My son got the BBQ nachos, and he was not thrilled with them. My in-laws got brisket sandwiches, they loved the brisket, but not the sides (cole slaw). And my father in law never got the baked potato he ordered (and paid extra for). Lastly, the ice tea, was really watered down and not enjoyable. The brisket and burnt ends were great, but that could not make up for the poor service, bad burgers and sides, and lackluster nachos. Food was good. Bake beans was excellent, smoked flavor with chunks of smoked pork. Creamy Cole slaw was ok, missing something as it still had strong taste of raw cabbage.
