We have gotten carry out/drive thru from here twice in the past few months; both times were very good! First time we decided to get the BBQ Sampler Platter. All the meats were delicious! Very well smoked and you can tell it was all made with love! For our second go around, we decided to keep it a little light and just got a 2meat BBQ Plate with BRISKET (it was a little dry, but it was also the end of the night, so that could be a factor), and BURNT ENDS (absolutely delicious, as always!). For our sides, my girlfriend got POTATO SALAD and she seemed to enjoy it. I chose french fries and it was a huge portion! We live about an hour away, we've been here twice now, and both times were great. He loves their ribs, they literally fall right off the bone. I got both and very glad I did. Food came very quickly. The potato salad is awesome, as most places potato salad is bland to me. The burnt end sandwich had a good portion of meat, a little bit of sauce with some raw onion and pickles on the side. The bun was super fresh and soft. The waitress also brought a four pack of sauces: sweet, spicy, mustard based, and ketchup. I tried a little of the sweet and the spicy. I really wanted to give a good review from what we read from other people but we were not happy. I originally had it at 3 stars but my son convinced me to put 2. When we first pulled up we were not sure if they were open because not many cars were in the parking lot and the open sign was not on. It was 6:30pm or so. I've been to many BBQ places around the country and this one was just sub par. Joe's in KC is my favorite. Couple things, they were out of grilled chicken breast. There was no chicken strip basket that included fires other than the kids menu. We had to order separate. All of the items came in a red basket which I've never seen at a good BBQ place. Most come on a tray. I think our sever was new. She was very overwhelmed with 3 tables. The other server had 2 tables and they couldn't handle it. They even made a comment how they needed more help. The one sever asked the other for a salad with ranch and she replied I can't help you. When our food came out the meat was just ok. The pulled pork was the best. I had to ask for the sauces. The sweet sauce was very good. My wife and I ordered the baked beans for our side and they were so smokey flavored we couldn't eat more than a bite. If you like inhaling campfire smoke on purpose then you might like them. When I asked the server if the beans were always that smokey, she said "I don't know, I've never had them". ‍ I thought for sure she was going to ask if we wanted something different but she did not. All of our water glasses were empty and I had to ask her while she was walking by if we could get more water. Then she was doing other things and never came back. 10 minutes later I had to go to the front register to ask for more water. While I was at the front I mentioned to the other server about the beans and she replied "I have nothing to do with the beans, that's her (and pointed back to the cook in the kitchen). I'm guessing the lady she pointed too was also the manager because when I told her, she then asked if we wanted a different side. One word- PERFECTION. I'm not big on BBQ but my husband is and we both LOVVEEDD it. He got the burnt ends and said they were the best he's ever had. We had the wings and they were so tender, they melted in your mouth and had the perfect flavor. My kids were all able to enjoy them and so did the adults I honestly was blown away with everything we had. The pulled pork soooo sooo good and all of the sauces were amazing Seriously, there was nothing that we had that we even thought was ok. We were blown away with it all. Oh, and if you go here, be sure to order the beans and the Cole slaw because YUMMMYYYY. Thank you so much to Crystal who suggested it all and was so very sweet and made me feel at home. This place wasnt on my list because we were going to visit the wobbly boots instead but yelp recommended it and it had good reviews so we came. Let me first say that my husband doesn't usually eat bbq out. He does his own bbq so when we eat it out we are typically disappointed. I ordered the bbq nachos full order with pulled pork and my husband had the two meat dinner of burnt ends and pulled pork with baked beans and onion rings. My bbq nachos were huge! For $10, it was a much bigger portion than I expected. I used the sweet and spicy bbq sauce on the table and both were very good. The cheese was a cheddar not a typical Mexican restaurant nacho cheese but it went perfectly with the pork. The pork was amazing and I found no fat. My husband said the burnt ends were so good and he was impressed because he knows how much time it takes to cook those. His baked beans were very good and had the three bean medly in them along with some meat. His onion rings were just ok. Maybe too much batter. My husband said he didn't think he could do better and honestly that is saying a lot!
