Avoid like the plague. Driest and funkiest tasting bbq I've ever had in my entire life. Ribs cracked when separating them, burnt ends soaked in sauce but had very rough after taste. Beans looked old and onion rings were burnt and crumbly. Brought all this up to server and the manager didn't offer any type of remedy. Don't go here. Very impressed with this bbq joint! I had the baby back ribs and they were delicious, so good! Their house sweet barbecue sauce was great as well! My wife and grown daughter had meals off the junior options and had plenty as well! Very good sized portions I had fries and beans left over just because there was so much food. We are long term loyal customers of the establishment, but had a BAD experience last evening. We went thru drive thru to get burnt ends. Were told we could not buy just burnt ends. We have used Half Sauced for catering our parish fishing tournaments for the last six years. They always show up on time with setup and delicious meals. We have tried other options in the past and this is by far our best option. We set a date and give a preliminary number and adjust the night before. When i walked in the groups in the restaurant at 11:30 on a Friday were a K-9 unit and a group of construction workers in high viz orange -- an excellent sign. The service was quick, the portions were large, and everything was incredibly tasty. The brisket is more of the thick-sliced, dryer kind than the shaved fatty kind, which is prefer. A great, casual BBQ restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we got except for the baked beans. We were looking forward to them, but they were SO oversmoked that they were inedible to us. I am sure some people like them that way so, to each his/her own. We got the sampler platter of meats, a pork steak, spoonbread, fries, and coleslaw. We also got the mayo-based coleslaw, which was good but we didn't notice the spice mentioned in the menu. The service was great and the waitress was really accommodating when we had a sort of last-minute request. I am gluten-free and our server Annabelle was very accommodating and made sure to let me know to leave the ramen off of the slaw. Best thing in this plate was the burnt ends and baked beans. Baked beans had a nice smokey flavor to them. Burnt ends - first time eating them but it was very tasty and with with a little bit of spicy bbq sauce hit it just right. Brisket was a nice cut of piece but a little dry like the pulled pork. Ordered ahead for a Memorial Day lunch at home. For a group of 6 we ordered 3 full slabs of ribs and 2 pounds of brisket. We didn't order any sides as we had all that at home. However, I saw their steak fries and they looked good! Their salad also looked good but seemed like a basic garden salad. Both the ribs and brisket were very tasty! What a great find during our first visit to Osage Beach. They have a great menu to choose from with traditional sides. I tried the burnt end sandwich and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. My sandwich was one of the best I've had. Great sauce that did not take away from the taste of the meat. It was a perfect portion with no fat! What topped it off was the quality of the bun. It stayed intact through till the end. I chose not to add any additional sauce but the have three more to choose from. Ok, so I've only done the drive thru so I can't speak to the ambience. However, I have returned to the drive thru twice! Service is great! Respectful, kind, helpful... just remember it's not fast food so you have to wait. But not long at all! The food is AMAZING! I absolutely love their smoky beans. We tried the sampler which included three types of meat. Between the two of us. We tried burnt ends, brisket, ham, and ribs. Every single one was tasty! We were looking for something we hadn't tried before and saw this on yelp. I can't believe we have not been here in the years we've been coming to the lake! Excellent. As you walk in the bbq trophies and ribbons let you know that this is the real deal!! I had the HUGE pork chop and plenty to share and next day lunch. Very tender and perfectly cooked. Husband had the burnt end sandwich. Again very good! Slaw was a nice break from the richness of the meat and the onion rings which came with a really nice horseradish aioli kind of sauce. But we were never greeted (not that it matters to us) but all the people that worked there saw us and made eye contact, but we didn't get seated. We waited about 15 on the benches waiting, because they had a sign stating " please wait to be seated". We were being civil and following the signs, but again we waited 15 minutes before someone asked if we've been help. 15 minutes is a long time when your hungry. This is ok bbq! Definitely not Texas amazing bbq. This restaurant is hard to give a rating too! We loved the service! Our waitress was great. My wife and I came here on a Wednesday in the early evening around 4pm. At the suggestion of our waitress we split a 2 meat platter. The platter includes 2 sides. We ordered 2 side salads with French dressing to start our meal. The salads were extra and not included in the platter. The salad was iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, 2 slices of red onion, 1 slice of cucumber. The salad was ok and we were not impressed with the dressing. We think it could of been bottled Catalina. We chose pulled pork and pulled chicken for the meats. Our sides we chose pit beans and creamy coleslaw. Shortly after ordering our waitress let us know they were out of coleslaw and the owners make the coleslaw. They also ran out of carrots for the cole slaw. We replaced the coleslaw with homemade onion rings which is a 2 dollar up-charge. We also got an order of spoon bread (corn bread with cream corn). The spoon bread was a pleasant surprise with a sweet cornbread taste and very moist. We also liked the onion rings a lot! The rings had nice sweet thick onions. The batter was crisp and had a good flavor. The rings were hot in temperature too and fresh! The disappointment was the flavor, portion, and taste of the meat. Where's the smoke? This is the big reason for the 3 star review! The pulled pork was really fatty and didn't have a lot of good meat pieces. The pulled pork was dry and didn't have a good smoke flavor. The pulled chicken was ok but covered in sauce and a bit dry even with the sauce. We liked the chicken better than the pork. I'm thinking the meats we were served maybe were not fresh but I don't know. The meats are served on toasted bread. We didn't try the bread. The pit beans were ok but definitely not packed with flavor or heat like they are in Texas at other bbq restaurants. Also, pit beans come free in Texas at a lot of good Texas bbq restaurants. The waitress let us try a few pieces of jalapeño sausage and it was ok. A highlight of our meal was the sweet tea ! Great sweet tea here! We got a couple glasses of tea to go! Overall our rating goes like this: 5 stars for the service 5 stars for sweet tea 4 stars for onion rings 4 stars for spoon bread 3 stars for side salads 3 stars for pit beans 3 stars for pulled chicken 2 stars for pulled pork We may give this restaurant another chance someday when we are back in the area at the lake of the Ozarks. read more

Parents took me out to Half Sauced for the first time.  My side salad came out first 1 tub of ranch, the waitress went MIA and I needed more ranch. She was not to be found. Had to stop another waitress to get me more ranch and remind her we are missing our appetizer. Random waitress said ok and went back to tell our table waitress. Table waitress comes with the ranch and says we just got a bunch of to-go orders so they are still making it. No apology but telling it straight. You can't expect us to be happy when you disappear and it's part of your job to communicate with your guests. Yes you are busy today but you should treat your table with just as much respect as you would your team and boss.  Ordered cheese fries an appetizer took them 30 mins to bring it out the fries were great! Had cheese pull that I never seen on fries.  Half slab of ribs and fries: ate nearly the full slab until I dropped a rib on the floor. It was meaty too so I was pretty sad about that.  Food makes up for the service. Communication is all that is needed. Once they got the to-go orders out she was much better about checking in on us.
