She was patient and asked questions, and within a short time indicated someone could be at my house in about a half an hour, discussed what was the likely problem (something to do with pins in the mechanism), discussed replacing the component and the cost. They arrived a few minutes before the half hour estimate and the replacement was completed and they were out of here in less than 15 minutes. Half price locksmith is as very quick and helpful for when I was shopping for quotes on changing my locks. What I loved was that they quoted me an exact price on what I needed done by having me take a picture of the locks I needed changed instead of a "guesstimate" unlike mosts locksmiths do.! Not only was the price exactly like they said it would be once their services were complete but the price match compared to all the other quotes I received was almost "half priced" just like they advertise in their company name. 6/18/16- I locked my keys inside my car in a parking garage in Charnow Park, Hollywood. I immediately started to panic since this is the first time I have done this. At that moment I was goggling locksmiths in the area. I called another locksmith that quoted me $75 and would arrive in 45 minutes. I also called another locksmith that obtained my information first then told me they would call back with a quote. I logged into my YELP app, not knowing if locksmith services would be listed, I then saw Half Price Locksmith. I sent them a message "Locked my key in my car. Jeep Liberty 2005. I'm in 300 Garfield St. Hollywood, Fl. How much?" A minute later, Sharon T, business owner, responded with $49 Total", I asked how long will they be? and she replied "20-30 minutes, tech on the way in white Honda pilot, I'll call you when he's there." PERFECT!!! Sharon called me and told me the tech was by the car garage (I was on the third floor), and that he could not get in because the lot was full. He walked up to where my car was, identified himself, and within literally 5 seconds, my car was opened. I gave him the cash and I was on my way. DO NOT CALL!!!! THEY WILL LIE!!!!!!!! THIS COMPANY DESERVES ZERO STARS. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN A POSITION TO GET SCAMMED. PLEASE call a legitimate locksmith, especially a company who will not quote you a price of $65, only to arrive at your house when you're locked out and quote you a price of $140. There are decent businesses which will charge you the quote that they cite. This was a BAIT AND SWITCH to people who were in a vulnerable position (locked Out with a crying baby who desperately needed to be fed). They threatened to drive away. The company SPECIFICALLY asked that we DO NOT CALL COMPETITORS once they quoted us one price. We happily agreed. They then BEGGED us to call competitors after the bait and switch. Once again, there are plenty of honest businesses out there--- this is not one of them. ********UPDATE********** The company claims in their response that they had no choice but to charge us more than the quoted amount and that the up charge was a fair price once they saw our ONE front door lock. Moreover, The response also cites our location and time of day as a reason for the price. This would be FINE (especially since We would have paid anything at that point). However: 1- We were never told that there was so much as a possibility that we may be charged a higher price. 2- When the owner quoted $65 she was aware of the time of day and our location (20 minutes), and 3- we were not given the actual price until AFTER we waited with a very hungry, tired screaming baby AND the owner specifically confirmed that we had not called anyone else ****We would have paid ANY price (we don't know what a locksmith charges and we were desperate). However this company never gave us a true estimate and there was a very dishonest bait And switch. For Sharon's clarification: BAIT: the price of $65 during the phone baited us to use their services. SWITCH: once we we're baited with the initial quote, the price of services suddenly changed but we were desperate and in a vulnerable position with no other locksmith at our door, so we Were unable to refuse to use this company. ***Please Do not repeat our mistake. I locked my keys in my car and decided to do a search on my phone to find a locksmith. The 1st locksmith company I called, said they would send a technician right away. The tech even called and said he'd be there in 20 minutes. With perishable items in my car, my wait time soon turned into 1hr and 15 minutes( I was pissed). The guy who showed up, looked shady and when he arrived, said that it would cost $175 to open my car. I looked at at him incredulously and immediately told him I was no longer interested in his services. Thankfully the next service I called was Half Priced Locksmith.
