Half Price Books is a wonderful second hand book store that has all kinds of books, CD'S, records, and DVD'S. I came here to find a book that I needed, and unfortunately, they did not have the book I wanted, but I was able to find other books and a record for my friend. This is a really neat store, and the staff is helpful and willing to lend a hand to help you find the book you are looking for. They even buy books, CD'S, and DVD'S off of you that you want to get rid of for their store, but don't expect to get a good amount back on your merchandise. You can find pretty much all the latest best sellers and old books that you want at Half price books. It is a great bookstore to browse in at your leisure.

So hey, apparently there's these stores that sell... books? I thought every book was grown in Amazon warehouses but boy was I wrong. See books are now sold in stores too. Half Price Books sells them for... half price or even less! Oh, but they also sell CDs, and DVDs, and vinyl, and consul games -- all for very cheap. Where have I been that I didn't know these places existed?! And one final thing: for the Christmas season they had a Christmas section up front with books and DVDs... and... in this Christmas movie section... they had... the 1988 Christmas classic... DIE HARD. Enough said.

Photo for proof of both what they are selling and the listings online. Shameful

Half Price Books has been horrible for years now with regards to buying AND selling. Today was the peak when I saw a BOOTLEG BLU RAY SET being passed off as legitimate for 4 times the price as they go for online. $200 for a bootleg, with no legitimate version. It's a bootleg collection, if the person putting prices out here actually did their research maybe they wouldn't have this issue. This was the final straw, I will not be returning.

The journal and planner I bought on my most recent visit.

I've long been a fan of the Half Price Books chain, a chain started in Dallas in 1972. You could…read morepretty much say I've grown up with Half Price Books. I'm pretty stunned that I've never reviewed this location, though I don't frequent it nearly as much since I moved into Lawrence Township. I grew up in Pike Township and this really was my location for many years. In my opinion, it's one of the most accessible of the Indy HPB locations and I've always been pleased with my experiences here. I was in this area checking out His Place Eatery and nostalgia demanded I return for a visit to this HPB. This location has two entrances. Both sides offer accessible parking, though the side facing West 86th Street is definitely more accessible. One side has a double glass doorway, the other has a single glass door. Both sides offer curb cuts, though the side facing West 86th Street has a much easier grade. For those familiar with HPB, there's the consistency you can expect - reasonably priced books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and even some VHS. Books are incredibly well organized and there's always a nicely done clearance section. They also have novelty stuff - like t-shirts, games, etc. The employees here are always friendly - I've had multiple friends work for HPB over the years and they always praise the chain. Most, of course, end up leaving for financial reasons, however, they all remember HPB with a sense of nostalgia. On this visit, I noticed there was a local author doing a book signing. Since I nearly always support local authors, I bought his book. The aisles are always in good shape here. The store is clean. There's a public bathroom that's pretty accessible. Employees are always willing to help. And yes, you can still sell them your used books/CDs/movies. And yes, you still won't get much. I've been to just about every HPB location in Central Indiana. This one has a special place in my heart as I really kind of grew up with it. I guess you could say it's my favorite HPB in Indy. This HPB is well organized, has a wonderful selection, offers friendly and helpful service, and is likely the most accessible HPB in the society. All in all, it's a winner and it sure was nice to get back for a visit.

When you first walk in, it's a gaming room for the whole family! Then you walk into the bar area and there's lots of things for sale, from merch to beer to other games and books. The folks working were friendly and knowledgeable about events. My cousin ordered the beer flight and woke food. All was delicious. For the flight you could pick any beer or cider on tap. For food we got pretzel, chips and queso, chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. Everything came out relatively quickly. There is a ton space to play game in the next room over and wasn't too loud. There were several people who came to work or read and sat in the bar area and seemed content. Great experience!

We used to love going to the one downtown on Mass Ave also before it closed. But we're thankful this one is still open and that we live so close to it. I've found so many Xmas gifts for friends/family here also. If you're looking to find some retro, classic games and/or books, this might be the motherload! It's tucked in on the backside facing Home Depot, but once you find it the first time, you'll never forget where it is! Go in, grab some games, a beer (or two), and hang out during a trivia night! You'll feel right at home.

My hubby was in heaven looking around and told me I am officially in charge of making yelp use a 6 star system so I can give them 6 stars. They have wall to wall and several aisles stocked full of product. They even have a buy 2 items under $3 get the 3rd item under $3 free. They have loads of dvds/blurays, cds, some books/manga, old and new games and systems, and some awesome collectibles. The employees definitely were the cherry on top. He was telling us about the setup of the store, deals the have and about their trade in policies (which are the states policy and super intense to stop stolen items from being sold. They even do fingerprints). My husband is officially obsessed with this store and if he could live here he would. We had to go back to the hotel to grab a game to trade in and on the way back he said "I love this place. I know we aren't there but I'm going to talk like we are because my soul is there". I have no doubts we will be back. We ended up getting a few different things and we were pleased with everything.

What was even better was their variety of vinyl, and I ended up purchasing two LPs and one CD. Prices for either medium were either reasonable for used or overpriced, not really in the middle. A lot of their collection, including the CDs, is behind glass, which makes it not as easy for a shopper to quickly check out the inventory before buying.
