I will say this is one of the larger selections we have come across it seems to go on and on in size

So, yesterday evening Wednesday around 6ish on April 13th it was a beautiful day outside so I decided after work to go on a car ride to vibe to the music and enjoy the music. Then, I decided to go to Half Price Books store out on W. 86th Street which I'm glad I did go out there. There are plenty of parking spaces, walking in the building there are no stairs just a low ramp sidewalk. Upon entering inside HPB store I noticed so many good deals on books, music, games. Etc. I haven't been to HPB store in a long while that I forgot the store has a lot of great items. I was actually going to the store looking for some IT books, but I didn't find those books I was looking for at all. Instead, I bought two books The Help for $2 & new Viola Davis book Finding Me for $14.39. Also, if you have books that's in great condition you can sell to Half Price Books for cash. I have so many books so I'm definitely going to cash in on some of my books. The staff there were friendly, professional, and most importantly very helpful. If, you never been to Half Price Books store before I highly recommend you to checkout.

Half Price Books is a wonderful used bookstore and music store that has a wide selection of books, CD's, DVD 's, and vinyl albums for the collector. You can even bring in your own books or CDs to the store to trade in for cash! I brought in my old CD's to trade in for cash, and was happy with the amount I was given for them. You will have to keep in mind that it is at the store's discretion whether they will take your old books or CD'S to sell in the store and give you money. Do not expect to get a full value amount for your old books or CDs. The store has a wonderful selection of old and current books in hardback and paperback. The selection of vinyl albums and CD'S is very impressive as well. They even have a great selection of DVD'S and VHS tapes as well. I was very surprised with how great this bookstore really is and with their selection of books. I would definitely come back here again to pick up a book I need for a book club discussion or a vinyl album for a good friend who is a collector. It is a wonderful venue for shopping.

    So much in stock!

Random prices for book buy back but my dad seemed happy with what he got for a few records, nice staff, massive selection or well ordered inventory, cool to see popular trash novels and ancient rare stuff all in one room. Lots to see from games, music, toys, and friendly staff but they make you hang around while they run thru the stuff brought in. I wish there was more options for selling my stuff - if something really isn't worth it but others are tell me! I would rather move it to a Goodwill if the best I can do is 10 cents. I understand that may be impossible considering demand and inventory are always changing but anything to moderate the process would be a huge help for people like me who haven't much stock in books and mess with them once a decade but when we do it's an affair.

Very insulting what they offer for books. Then to see what they resell them for, makes you wonder. No more wasting my time.

Funny background on this location, I used to work here when I was 19 and pregnant as the barista in their now demolished cafe area. At "Joe's" we used to have maybe 3 small round tables with two chairs each & 2 cushioned chairs in the corner with a small table between them. They brewed hot coffee round the clock and also offered a large variety of tea & two slushy type drinks. There was also a food case that had a variety of pastry's & typically one or two savory options. Who made the decision to enclose that area, build a wall & put more books there? Terrible idea & drove me to try and find elsewhere to read in peace and quiet. Although I found quite a few books I wanted to pick up - the atmosphere gave rushed & "DON'T stay awhile" anywho, check out the photos I add- new reads for you all to look into!

From there, it moved to a location I simply can't remember. Then, it came over and has stayed at 86th and Ditch. A year or two ago, New Age People adopted the same name as its sister store on the southside - Inner Path. Quite honestly, I think the name Inner Path is a better reflection of what it has always been about. While New Age spirituality is certainly a part of it all, it's far from a comprehensive description of what is offered here. This is located in a large strip center. It's directly next to where Stein Mart used to be. There's a curb-cut almost directly in front of it. The doors are kind of heavy, though the employees here are always helpful. Inner Path is definitely a spirituality and self-help store with a comprehensive approach toward spirituality ranging from Christian to Eastern religions to New Age to any number of other paths. What can you get here? Clothing, jewelry, crystals/stones, candles/incense, books, psychic readings, a wide variety of religious items/statues, and a whole lot more. You can take classes here (this is where I became a Reiki master) and get various services. I've been a longtime fan of New Age People and now Inner Path. This time around, I did notice the store was a LOT more crowded toward the back and less accessible than usual. This surprised me (and somewhat disappointed me) as they've historically been remarkable. I used to be a more frequent shopper, though I now live in the Lawrence area and simply don't make it around here as much. That said, I'll always love this place and the atmosphere, energy, and people will always make me want to stop when I'm in the area. Today, I only came home with incense but I love their incense varieties and am sitting here burning the incense even as I write this review.

Except now, everything old is new again, and this record store actually has more records than anything else. So if you are a record collector, this is your place. They have new and used records, as well as quite a lot of CDs, cassettes, used DVDs, comic books and some records players and headphones for sale. It was my oldest son's idea to visit, because he loves record stores, and is proving to have impeccable taste in music. (He gets it from his mom.) He loves rap and hip-hop the most, and was a little disappointed that there weren't more albums by his favorite artists. I told him that I think album collecting tends to skew more toward rock and pop listeners, and people who listen to rap and hip-hop listen more digitally. That's my theory, but in any case, you should know that the hip-hop section is small. But the rock and pop section is large. This record store is a decent size, and in fact, there's a sign outside that says that they will soon be expanding. My son thought that the store was huge, but bless his ignorant heart: He didn't grow up going to the country's greatest record store, Amoeba Records in Hollywood, like I did. This is no Amoeba, but there's no place like Amoeba, and for a record store in central Indiana, Indy CD and Vinyl is really great. Two neat things about Indy CD and Vinyl: They have video games and pinball machines that you can play at the back of the store (for a couple of quarters). They also have a listening station, where you can scan the barcode of an album and listen to it before you buy it. It wasn't working when we visited, but that's cool that they offer that. No one in my household actually owns a record player, CD player or cassette player, so our visit was merely to look around and imagine the things we would buy if we had analog media players. My son did get a Tyler The Creator poster, though, so he was happy.

The Accent Shop has been around since 1958 when Dick and Jane Bridgins opted to move out of their department store setting in an effort to bring a more modern style store to the Indy area offering furniture, lamps, tabletop and more. Today's The Accent Shop definitely still focuses on contemporary design, though they have a strong focus on bridal and gift registry items including dinnerware, flatware, glassware, serving pieces, collectibles, jewelry, and a bunch of other fun stuff. This new location is a little more relaxed than was Nora. For the most part, it seems a lot more spacious until you get into the Collectibles area where everything is really packed in. The employees have always been helpful here, though it's definitely in a more reserved way. In terms of accessibility, I'd likely quibble a bit with Yelp's listing that "wheelchair accessible" is one of the amenities here. While it definitely has some of the basics - for example, nearby accessible parking, appropriate curb cuts, and a level to the ground entry - The store itself is for sure a little bit hit-and-miss in terms of interior design. As I noted, this is especially true in the collectibles area where even my small manual wheelchair struggled and had to detour my path multiple times due to far too narrow aisles. I can't imagine a power chair being successful here. That said, the front of the store is vastly superior to the Nora location in terms of space and design. That was nice to see. I also really love the options here. I think the collectibles section bugged me in terms of access precisely because that was my favorite area of the store. From Christmas wares to a surprisingly large (and unique) Halloween section, I was really impressed here. I loved some of the candles. I loved the garden flags. The glassware was awesome. I think my two favorite sections are likely the kitchenwares and the seasonal collectibles. I can easily see myself returning come Halloween. Prices vary. You can sure spend a modest amount here, though there are also some higher-end items. There's something special about a shop that reminds you of the value of in-person shopping. I really enjoyed shopping here and loved the diversity of the items. Overall, I'd easily return and I very likely will during both Halloween and Christmas. While I do wish the layout was a bit more wheelchair friendly, there's an obvious effort here and I'm guessing 3/4 of the store is easily accessible and for the most part going very slowly and with care I was able to see most everything I wanted to see.
