Cute entrance

Quiet pretty rv park. The manager is so welcoming and friendly. Our spot was right next to the bathroom and laundry room. We had water and electric hook ups. We enjoyed our stay!

Just came back from a weekend at Half Moon Bay RV Park. We had a great experience staying there. Was able to pick up a cancellation and stay for my birthday which was awesome (have always wanted to RV camp in HMB and Lori made it happen!). Lori was extremely sweet on the phone & via email and gave info on what was nearby to the campground. The sites are clean and wide. Yes, it's parking lot style camping but they don't have you piled on top of each other. Yes, there are full time people camp/living there but their RVs are new, their areas are decorated super cute and kept neat and orderly. Lisa the owner made sure to come around & let us know there was a brief power outage and came back to inform us it was back up. We had a great time and now I have decided this will be my annual birthday destination. Thanks HMB RV Park, Lori and Lisa for a great experience!

Well....... How do I start? Hmmmm let me just get to the point. It's Thanksgiving Day and I come to camp here for the first time, as I am backing up my camper, I hit the water pipe/post and broke it. Water is going everywhere...... I freak out and go grab Lisa (manager) she as calm as can be starts to handle business. Lisa had to shut everyone's water off and before I know it, there six people helping me out and trying to fix the problem. As I was standing there she told me they have everything covered and go enjoy your camping in Half Moon Bay. I am happy I chose this RV park to spend our annual family Thanksgiving. Thanks Lisa for all your help and giving me a great experience........... I am also sorry about this dumb mistake I made on Thanksgiving.

Wooded area near the campsite. Trail to the ocean.

This place is well maintained and a great place to stay for short or long term. We were here with my mom's fifth wheel but we also stayed outside in the tent. The ground is all gravel or wood chips so it can be a little dusty.... The bathrooms have individual toilet/shower stalls to yourself. They're clean, but you need to bring your own body wash etc. and there is no where in the bathrooms to put your stuff down (which is always helpful). Cameron's inn is adjacent to the park and a great place to grab food and drinks, and to buy some nice British treats. There is also a great trail down to the beach that takes about 15 mins.

The lovely private bathrooms!

Very clean park. The only downside we noticed was that if there are too many people connected to the internet ... you're SOL.

As a newer RV owner, I especially appreciated how incredibly easy it was to access the park and our spot. That simple convenience took away a lot of the initial stress of driving a big rig and is a huge plus. The park itself is top-notch. Our spot was absolutely huge, giving us plenty of room to spread out. The entire resort is super clean, and the restrooms and showers were spacious and spotless--a real pleasure to use. A major bonus for us was that they even have designated areas for tent setups, which meant our "tent camping" friends were able to join us for the weekend. But the true magic of this location is its unbeatable proximity to everything. We were within easy walking distance of fantastic shopping, dining, and even some fun bar hopping with fancy distilleries nearby. The Marina is also just a short stroll away, where we spent time sitting and watching the otters and sea lions--it was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. We were so close to every amenity and attraction that we didn't even unhook the truck from the camper the entire weekend! Finally, I have to give a massive shout-out to the amazing host. He greeted us the second we drove in and personally walked us to our spot. He even offered a 50-amp 'dog bone' adapter because he noticed my camper was 30-amp--talk about thoughtful service! Every time he walked his adorable boxer, he would stop to greet us and check in, making sure we had everything we needed. He was consistently available and incredibly friendly. We are already planning our next trip. We will for sure be back! If you're looking for a clean, convenient, and perfectly located RV park in the Bay Area, this is it!

My brother has an app that follows what boats are open and offering crabs. He bought crabs there last year. It was a short drive over the hill and a beautiful Saturday. We were able to find parking in the lot by the restaurants and harbor plus it was free. We walked over to the first boat to ask how much the crabs were per pound. They were $10/lb and $8/lb if missing a claw. He showed us some crabs and we said we'd come down. There were several boats out there with Crabs signs as well as Ling Cod signs. We talked to the gentleman whose boat is called "Drake". He weighed out 3 for us and put them in a plastic bag. I asked how far he goes out and he said 20 miles. When he first started a few weeks ago, crabs were 20+ per basket. Now it's down to 5-8/basket. He said he'll still come out to sell crabs. My brother had a thicker plastic bag that he put the crabs in and put it in the cooler in the car so we could check out the other boats. We were looking for Salmon and found another boat that was selling flash-frozen Alaskan Coho Salmon. There were a few men on the boat answering my questions and making suggestions on how to cook the fish. The fish is caught in Alaska, flash frozen then I believe the gentleman said dipped in the ocean water(?) to create a glaze to preserve the fish further as it's stored in the cooler. When you flash-freeze the fish, any parasites will die. You can safely eat the fish as Sashimi or cooked and when cooked, watch the fish as it's so tender, it doesn't need a lengthy amount of time. He suggested pan-frying so we did just that with the fillets after thawing the whole fish in the cooler full of ice for 2 days. We had cut the fish into fillets and finished them with a Teriyaki/Mirin glaze and Baby Bok Choy on the side. It was so tender and soft and the meat was such a deep orange! What a superior variety! Oh and our fish was about 2 pounds@$20/lb. It was so worth it for the quality and amount as we had enough for another meal! I asked for the name of the boats and they said look for New Day and Dream Catcher. Took a photo of the phone number in case we have questions. When we got home we cooked the Dungeness Crabs and the meat was so fresh, tender and flavorful. Definitely a treat!!

Too Big to Trail The…read moreHalf Moon Bay Coastal Trail is an amalgam of several trails that run thru HMB and goes for 11.5-miles one-way from start to finish. The southerly end is at the Cowell Ranch Trail in HMB and runs all the way north to Dardanelle Trail in Moss Beach. The Good: *Great views *Easy flat to moderate trails *Trails are mostly AC with some compact dirt, as well, and they are mostly in good to great shape. *Bike, dog, & horse friendly *Multiple beach access *Lots of different (free) parking lots up and down the coast The Meh: *Little to no shade for most of the trail. This isn't really a big deal, as HMB is almost always cloudy, foggy, and cold--but there's always a few days a year where it can get into the 80s and low 90s. The Ugly: *Some of the lots do require payment, so be sure to check signage before parking. Oh, and in case you're wondering, they most definitely *DO* enforce parking. Conclusion: One of my all-time favorite trails in The Bay.

I parked in a spot for $10 and there seemed to be some free parking spots along the trails, but anyway, it was a nice trail! Very flat! Easy access to the beach. There are a few benches throughout the trail to sit, relax, and enjoy. I would come back if I live closer to HMB!

I will state a few things before this visit. We checked out reviews, videos and called before booking. We also came after hours and the completed checked in by phone to advise of our late check in. We were able to find our spot immediately when we arrived. The Sf rv is older and has basic amenities of a heated pool, laundry on site facility and on staff day management M-Su. There are long term tenants at this location mixed with Thousand Trails members and public bookings. This is a older resort with limited space in each site and it can be a tight squeeze due to the size of someone's rv or trailer. People keep to themselves and it's pretty low key. You can walk right out to the gated fence to see the ocean and smell the sweet breeze. You are right off the freeway HWY 1, next to a grocery store and several restaurants. Management was extremely attentive and always smiled and checked in on us.
