We have been coming to this RV resort for Years ! I can't believe this is my 1st review . Very large resort ! Great activities for the kiddos in the summer ! Amazing views and right off Highway one . Also, we gotta say all the staff here are ALWAYS friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable! That is so important! Great Restaurant and Bar . And in the summer a Bar Cart cruises around the park ! So, many wonderful trips here. This is our destination on the Coast . :)

Glamping at Costanoa was everything we needed! This place is super clean, comfy, and GORGEOUS! Set along the coast and the mountains. Coming from San Francisco, Pescadero was the perfect distance for us This family retreat had it all. A fantastic restaurant, a general store, and a fun pine tent bar/restaurant that had great music and fresh made pizza. Costanoa wanted to make fire that the grown ups had as much fun as the kids But the nature walks, and all of the beautiful birds was zen. It was peaceful. We decided to go for the 4th of July and the activities Costanoa planned for their guest was awesome! They had a parade where all the guest and dogs dressed and walked, Bingo, and music. Fun! Fun! Fun! 5 stars to the staff and care they gave to all of us guest and the to the establishment. We stayed in the tent bungalow with the amazing heated blankets. They had WI-FI! Thank you Costanoa for a great memorable stay Our next visit we must stay at the lodge! It looks amazing!

Thank you Costanoa for making our 4 year anniversary trip so special! Everything was perfect. Clean cabins, nice campsites, stunning views, great hike nearby, and right across the street from the beach! What more could you need? They even provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine when they found out it was our anniversary. The best surprise ever!

Our upgraded site. It was in the "loop" area. Very nice.

We just finished our first trip to Costanoa and we have mixed reviews. What makes this review special, is that we switched sites midway through our trip. This made for completely different experiences. Our first site was super cramped and awkwardly appointed. We had our neighbor's fire pit near the break door of our trailer. We breathed their smoke, heard their conversations, and it was entirely too close. Our second site was outstanding. The site had tons of space, great views, a patio, furniture, and a huge grass area for anyone to use. The restaurant was fantastic. The food and service were top-notch. The store was well stocked and the staff were friendly. At check in, they asked if I was going to fly any flags. This question caught me off guard as I had never been asked this question at any RV resort. Flags are one of those things you see alot of at RV resorts. I kind of enjoy seeing people's flags. But at this resort, I didn't see any flags. I didn't see the campground fly any american flags either which was also a first. I didn't ask any further questions about their flag rules, since I was worried about what their answer might be. Very strange. This resort is pretty far from any grocery stores, so be sure to come prepared. Also, do your homework on the sites. Choosing the wrong site could really mess up your trip.

Needed a mini get away and this place exceeded my expectations! Booked the same day and it's just what I needed. Not to far from the city, an hour drive with a lovely view on highway 1! The cabin had everything I needed for my boyfriend and I. This place was clean, peaceful, and had great customer service :) I'll definitely be coming back and I'll be sharing this spot with my friends and family

aesthetic: 4.5/5 food: 5/5 service: 5/5 costanoa is a hidden gem for a weekend getaway from sf!! we stayed here for a long weekend to try glamping and loved how quaint and reasonably-priced this retro-esque resort is. we appreciate the staff putting together a communal fire pit for everyone to use and roast marshmallows on - no need to purchase firewood for smores if you're up to make new friends by the campfire. one aspect of costanoa we were looking forward to was the sauna. unfortunately, it's really small and next to the bathrooms, so i would recommend going early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the crowds and actually feel at peace. however, the sauna is a much-needed amenity, especially after going on one of the campsite's beautiful coastal hikes (the trailheads are conveniently on the resort). to my surprise, the best part about costanoa is... the vegan breakfast burrito!! if costanoa was a bit closer, i 100% would drive here weekly to get that fix. as someone with a plant-based diet, i very much appreciate costanoa having menu options for various dietary needs. overall, costanoa is the spot to visit if you're looking for a scenic retreat or gifting someone an experience without breaking the bank. nothing like one of their solid breakfast burritos to top off a relaxing stay in the redwoods ;)

    Sunrise from bungalow deck

Stayed here for one night in the C14 cypress tent bungalow. I had a wonderful, restful stay. My tent bungalow had a small patio deck that overlooked nature so it was very peaceful to look out to for sunrise. The grounds are beautiful. The nearby trails were lovely, and I saw deer in the dunes by the beach at sunset, which was magical. The ridge trail looks and smells gorgeous in the early morning! The service and food at the restaurant was outstanding. I enjoyed the vegan options, thank you! Easy access to the bathrooms and loved the outdoor shower! My critiques would be to have different choice for nightstands, possibly small lights on the paths to the bungalow and better placement for the mirror inside. I was grateful for the towels and robe! Wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you!

This is such a fantastic resort. The most relaxing vacation, perfect for couples, families, even large groups, there are different types of accommodation for everyone. I flew in (not rv camping) and got a bungalow, I'm in heaven! Food and drinks are fresh & fantastic and the menu is well rounded. Very peaceful and quiet. I will absolutely be back!

    Sonic running amuck.

This was a fun campground and very family oriented. We stayed in a cabin and the room was clean and the daily room service was a pleasant surprise. The beach trail was a nice distance hike and easy for kids as well. The only negative experience we had was another fellow camper wearing a sonic costume, tormenting the children who were playing throughout the campground. She was following them around relentlessly and allowing her out of control dog-off leash to wreak havoc. We tried our best to steer clear of her and eventually the campground staff explained that she is a regular visitor and that she suffers multiple mental illnesses and that her husband allows her out when he needs a break-so in return we gave her a bit of grace. Great trip overall.

There's tons of marine life to find, and it's a great place to walk around and explore. There are multiple staircase entry points, though the access isn't very elderly-friendly. Once on the beach, the terrain is uneven, so it's better suited for people who are comfortable walking on rocks and sand. This is a great spot for people looking to gather mussels, rock crabs, and for fishing. The starfish here are massive, and the anemones are everywhere -- really impressive to see up close. There's plenty of parking, and we prefer the north entrance, which tends to be our favorite access point. The main downside is the bathroom situation. They're in pretty rough shape, and the park could really use some maintenance here -- it's clear many people avoid using them, which unfortunately leads to waste showing up in parking areas.

That being said, the road to the park is quite well paved and there should be no trouble accessing it. We unfortunately visited the park during one of the controlled burns. I would not recommend visiting at those times because the smell of smoke lingers for quite some time even though we visited over a week after the burn ended. There was even one area of the park that was still smoking. It's also sad to see the extensive damage from the CZU fire that ripped through this area back in 2020. But overall there are still tons of beautiful redwoods and the trails are well maintained. Also not many people visit this park so you'll have plenty of peace and quiet on the trails!

But that doesn't mean it's not worth a visit. As of December 2024, all trails in the park are open. I commend the crews that restored the trails-they did an amazing job restoring safe access to the park. While camping remains closed, there are limited facilities (no drinking water and only pit toilets that are in sad shape.) However, if you come with an open mind and an appreciation for how forests regenerate after fires, it's quite an interesting park. I'd hiked an out and back last summer on Jackson flats and then, on NYD 2025, hiked the recently reopened loop of Little Butano Creek, Goat Hill Trail and Olemo Fire road. The creek was still low but there were too many banana slugs and mushrooms to count. Yes, lots of charred trees but also lots of green coming back. The lower trails aren't particularly steep or challenging and it's never crowded. Very peaceful park. It will be interesting to come back, over time, to see how the park regenerates and changes.

Please also remember to keep our beaches clean and leave no trace of your visit, litter or otherwise. I remember visiting this beach as a child and I made it my post New Years 2025 goal to rediscover its beauty as an adult. These photos were taken in January of '25, for reference. Nestled in Pescadero, CA, Bean Hollow State Beach offers a vast expanse of different terrain along the coastline. There are technically two beaches here: one is south, but the northern beach is what locals refer to as "pebble beach." (This is NOT the same as the official Pebble Beach residential area near Monterey and Carmel.) The beach is downhill on the right side from the northern parking lot. There is also a beautiful hiking area from the north to south beaches if you are up for the trek. If you are careful, you can go down to the sandstone/rock formation area to the left of the actual pebble beach past the parking lot. It's a beautiful view to watch the waves crash against the rocks, but always keep away from the wet areas and don't turn your back to the ocean. Stay safe by wearing good shoes and only walk along the dry areas on the rocks. These waves are very unpredictable and you have to be aware of the tides as well. Most of this state beach has no cell reception, so either don't go alone or let people know your plans. Absolutely one of my favorite places on the coast off of Highway 1, it is about 25 minutes south of Half Moon Bay. Bean Hollow State Beach also boasts collections of Tafoni sandstone cavities/holes, a special geological formation that is native to California coasts. Well worth a visit in any season, as long as you're dressed for the weather. If you're lucky, you might even see some aquatic life, too: we saw a few seals bobbing in the water.

When I picked her up, she was in tears and as we drove home, she told me details about the verbal abuse, threatening behavior, and dismissive attitude from her camp counselor. My daughter and her friend who attended camp with her shared that their camp counselor yelled at them, unreasonably limited their time for using the restroom and showering, threatened to write all cabin members up without just cause, permitted physical and verbal abuse from another camper in their cabin, dismissed their concerns for their own safety in the presence of this misbehaving cabin mate, told all the girls they were "the worst cabin ever", denied the girls snacks while eating her own in front of them, and did not permit the girls to fully explore the grounds as other campers were allowed to do. They expressed that the negative treatment from the counselor was unwarranted and not a result of misbehavior on their part. In addition, this mistreatment was across the board; everyone in the cabin was denied the same opportunities. Based on their observations, it appeared that campers from other cabins might have had better experiences. We contacted YMCA leadership and expressed our concerns. Their response lacked empathy, accountability, and any real sense of urgency in making sure other campers were not exposed to the inappropriate behavior of this counselor. If you're considering sleep away camp, I strongly suggest you AVOID the YMCA. Whether it's poor vetting, ineffective training, inexperienced leadership, or something else, it's not worth the risk of the potential harm to your child.
