A year after we moved into this house our HVAC system died and they replaced it with a Carrier which worked great for 16 years (low end of the expected life) until it died last December on the second 5 degree night we had. We really needed some heat! We are on the JBAC annual maintenance plan and the tech came out at 10 PM and said, yep, it's dead. (Luckily we had a gas fireplace to keep us from freezing.) Estimator came the next day, showed us some options, and the day after that a crew came out and installed a hybrid gas/heat pump system which has worked great for the past 8 months. I enjoyed the annual maintenance included with the JBAC plan, and it has more or less paid for itself in reducing or eliminating service fees for other issues. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was about 10 years ago they installed a pricey UV air purifier unit (my wife had asthma) which died a few weeks after the warranty ran out. Hopefully they don't continue to peddle bad products, but the rest of their work has been great and they are always polite and friendly.

My goal was to have an initial conversation to see which properties might qualify before moving further. The representative said she could help, but the call focused on collecting detailed information to pass to a specialist rather than answering general questions. I was asked for my billing address and the exact addresses of all properties. When I asked why this was needed at such an early stage, she explained they use addresses to look up assessment values, square footage, and photos or details from sites like Zillow before an audit. I explained that online data often does not reflect conditions relevant to insulation needs, basement/attic size, etc and that I was happy to provide full details once we determined it made sense to proceed. I was told I likely would not receive a call back without providing addresses. After giving one address for a property we were open to getting a quote on, I was told a callback would take about four days. Five minutes later, I received another call saying they would not be able to help, without any explanation given. Overall, it appeared the priority was evaluating properties to decide business viability, instead of first discussing services or eligibility.

After we agreed on the appropriate size and high efficiency-we scheduled for next day install. They also said that a technician will be coming by later that day to install a portable A/C , at no cost to cool our bedroom for the evening as well as the next day during the install, which was an 8 hour job. Excellent service, professional from start to finish and followed up with us as promised. What also was a pleasant surprise is that they at no time try to sell us stuff we did not need. When finished, they walked me thru everything that was done, answered any questions I had and included a 1 year free check up/cleaning. Could not be more pleased.
