In any case Halal Time is perfect for dinner or a late night. I liked the lamb over rice: fresh lettuce, tomatoes, chickpeas, pickles on the side with the white sauce and the hot sauce. The hot sauce here is not super spicy like other places, so you should be safe to go. Personally, I really like the lamb here because they do a thorough job letting it crisp on the griddle, so it's not just fatty and salty, but also has those crispy bits that we all love. One of my favorite Mediterranean places in Austin! The food is always fresh and so tasty!! I usually get the falafel rice plate and dolmas on the side. The hummus and pita bread is always yummy too. The wraps aren't as good as the rice plates in my opinion. The prices are a little pricey but worth the money as the portions sizes are great! I definitely recommend this food truck. The price was great too for the amount of food you get I was full for the rest of the night. I loved how they added some pickles and cucumber in it as well for additional flavor. Coming from a highly critical food snob who's not easy to please, yes this is the best falafel I have ever experienced. I didn't think I'd find that in Austin, Texas. Reading someone's review after eating, I can't agree that the $12 I'd spent on my one single dish was even close to unreasonable. I still have more than 1/2 of it leftover from last night- I was full after eating maybe a 1/3 of the dish. I could split this with my lady and we'd both be stuffed, making dinner $6 plus tip each. Even if the portions were less generous, the quality is superb and worth every cent. I tried really hard to not eat it again for breakfast and wait till lunch. I CRAVE this now! I don't understand what they do in there. It's light and delicate, with a crispy shell that just melts in your mouth with these flavors that are so uniquely exotic.
