Met up with some former coworkers since it worked with everyone's dietary needs. I ordered the burger and fries. Food was good even though they were a little heavy handed with the onion. One whole slice of onion. I normally enjoy onions but even that was a bit much for me when it wasn't even grilled. It was mostly self service, however they did bring the food out. Okay we relocated from Bay Area to the valley and had been craving some good Halal Fried Chicken, I searched on Yelp to find out where we could find halal fried chicken near us. It showed this location but it was a 40 mins drive from where we live. We decided to try it out for ourselves and if it would be have good, than we could have been a return customer. We ordered spicy fried chicken and OMG the chicken was so burnt that it tasted bitter when we took our first bite. I thought the burnt color was from the spice but no it was the chicken that was burnt or extremely overcooked. We waited for about 25 mins after placing our order and were extremely disappointed with how the chicken turned out. The price is also not very affordable as you would get better chicken pieces from Krispy Krunchy Chicken. We felt like it was a waste of our time and money driving to this restaurant. In one word, no. We waited quite a while to try this newer to North Natomas restaurant. I really wish that we were still waiting. After previewing the menu, we called in our order to go, and found the service to be fairly expedient. The food is mediocre at best, and really not worth the push to find parking etc. The difficulty with ordering food to go, is that the person who has placed the order does not have the ability to check the order prior to leaving the restaurant, so we are all beholden to the honesty and efficiency of the establishment. Our orders were completely wrong, and there was no way that I was going to return to have the orders adjusted. Paying for something that wasn't what I wanted, not only is frustrating, it's bothersome when food allergies are involved. Regardless of the order being incorrect, I found the chicken sandwich to be fairly basic. I was completely underwhelmed by it. It lacked flavor, overall taste, and wasn't any better than poor fast food. The french fries also reminded me of a local fast food chain that offers curly fries. Definitely not what I expected or wanted from a sit down restaurant. Neither one appealed to me, and it would've been less expensive to have trekked over to the fast food joint. The staff was friendly enough, just did not get our order right, and at the end of the day it's not their fault that the food was what it was. When I go back? Probably not. Should you go? SO good! I have had the $9.99 chicken and waffles (3 legs, 2 thighs dark meat variations) twice so far, and the $9.99 fish sandwich with side of coleslaw, as well as cheese fries. My friend also tried the jalapeno burger with garlic fries one visit. Two visits were walk-in pretty late (they're open until 10PM), one order called ahead for pickup; social distancing and masks enforced, patio dining but not indoor yet. Football on TV while you wait. Whenever you order any fried item, each time they told me a 15-minute wait because it's made to order and cooked up FRESH. The waffles come with powdered sugar, butter and syrup, and although there is a spicy chicken option for the batter I get regular and then add the packets of hot sauce later. The other chicken choices with the waffle are the chicken breast or wings or strips. Someone ahead of me in line got a bucket of chicken and that looked really good too. The chicken (and fish) are battered/breaded well and cooked perfectly -- crunchy on the outside with the right amount of seasoning. The fish had two big pieces for the sandwich, great portion and very filling! Happy for this new addition to Natomas! Located near Shalimar, Beach Hut Deli, and Falafel Corner/Vampire Penguin for reference. 5/16/22 a bit after 5pm I ordered a chicken salad and a kids cheeseburger with fries they seem busy with to-go orders so for them to make my food it took 25minutes. Must get the French fries!!! During my shopping at TJMaxx, I had a hankering urge to eat some fried chicken, so google search I went! I found this place near by, so I was excited to try it out. I read the Yelp reviews and saw it had 4 stars, so I drove over to the spot. I despise parking in this shopping center, there is never parking close by, you have to park far away and walk there. I ordered their 4 piece chicken with fries. It comes with a drumstick, thigh, breast, and wing. I added a cole slaw as an extra side item. This meal was shared with another person, this order was to go cause I live close by. When I got home I couldn't wait to start chowing down, I was Hangry! After taking my first few bites of the chicken, I found this meal was an utter disappointment. The batter was hard, not crispy! My daughter complained it was too hard to eat the skin. That was the best part to all fried chicken, the skin!!! I felt it was over fried and each piece of chicken was not consistent. The thigh and drumstick was overcooked and very dry, not moist. The breast on the other hand was moist, but the batter was hard. After eating the other pieces of chicken, we gave up and did not eat the wing piece. Key note! Don't dump hot fried chicken on top of fries, it creates sogging and mushy fries, it should be in a separate container. The add on cole slaw was flavorless, I added the ranch dressing to it, so I could give it more flavor.
