Date night this week took us to Captain Crab , and this was our first time here! Let me just say…read more.. it did NOT disappoint! To start, the service was great. Right when you walk in, everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was a busy Saturday evening, but we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was also so friendly, and our food came out FAST and piping hot! In our past experiences at other crab boil restaurants, it can take forever just to get a table, let alone get your food. So we really appreciated how quickly everything came out here! Now, THE FOOD! My hubby and I both got the Dungeness crab with the mild Cajun & garlic butter seasoning. It came with potatoes and corn, and we also added a side of rice and the Cajun fries. The seasoning was SO good! It had plenty of flavor without being overly salty. The crab was delicious and cooked perfectly. And those Cajun fries?! They were super crispy and seasoned to perfection! The only thing I would have changed was that we weren't given any crab crackers or tools to help us get into the crab. We actually thought they didn't have any at first. We later asked and were provided with some, but it would have been nice if they were offered or brought out with our gloves and bibs since we ordered crab. Other than that, I really enjoyed our experience! I especially loved that the restaurant has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to some other crab boil spots. The seats were comfortable, the music wasn't extremely loud, and it still had a fun vibe while being quiet enough for us to actually have a conversation. Overall, I'm giving Captain Crab a 10/10! We'll definitely be back!

The food was really good my daughter got a cheesecake and loved it all and all we loved it and will definitely be back.

Shout out for West Sacramento…read more.. Did you know that right in West Sacramento there is a seafood stand selling fresh sustainable caught hook n line fish plucked from the Bodega Bay? Well know you do... Ferrari Fisheries has a stand that sells black cod, ling cod, red snapper which all are year round catches; and seasonal Dungeness crab and salmon. When they have a fresh caught batch; they text their customers what is available catch, and time & date. To get their text notifications; you can sign up on their website. I was fortunate enough to get to their stand early enough on a notification day to buy a couple of Dungeness crabs. The crabs were live, priced at $11/pound. Awesome price! When you get to the stand, there are two lines. The first line you want to get into is the one nearest the big containers where the fish on ice or crabs are kept. If you want your fish filleted, let them know. It is a complimentary service. Then you head into the other line to pay. They take cash and card, I'm not sure about other payment types. Keep in mind, the inventory sells quickly especially the seasonal items. Folks queue up earlier than the opening time stated in the texts. The start time was 10am; I got there at 10:20 am. They sold out as I was leaving the stand. Anthony (owner and fishing captain), his wife, and team are terrific. They all were helpful and had the best attitudes. Welcoming. I'm sure they answer the same questions over and over. But when talking with each customer, they were engaged and provided individual attention. Top notch customer service!

Friendly small business and offer water or a beverage while you wait in line to purchase fish. It's a side of the road stand and everyone is so friendly. You can pick your own whole fish and they will fillet the fish as a courtesy. The best Cod and Halibut I've ever purchased. I'm spoiled now, can't go anywhere else!!! Sign up for their text messages to get informed on what their latest catch offering is. Looking forward to my next great catch!!

Shellfish? More like shell-FEAST!…read more Foodie friend group gathered at Asian 'n Cajun for sips and noms of the seafood variety. Don't sleep on Asian & Cajun Sacramento, which has been on Truxel Road in Natomas, going on 12 years. If you're into Asian cuisine and seafood boils, then come check them out. They also have happy hour if you're a beer, sake, sake bomb, tequila shot, or soju lover. Football season specials on game nights as well! We tried combo bucket number four with medium spice flavor fusion sauce, broccoli beef, kung pao beef, crab fried rice, garlic noodles with shrimp, fried oysters with fries, salt and pepper pork chops, cream cheese crab wontons, cajun clam chowder, and a pound of shrimp. Clams, mussels, king crab legs, boiled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and shrimp were dee-licious. Catch a game on the big screens while enjoying a cold drink with your fresh, steaming shell-feast! They might add a dessert option in the future (hint: BEIGNETS!), but for now, their in-house Thai iced tea really hits the spot. Get your bibs and gloves ready and come give it a try. P.S. They also can pre-peel the shrimp for you, head-on or off options too.

We told the server, and he said the chef accidentally used sugar instead of salt because the sugar, salt, and MSG are all next to each other. He brought us the Cajun sauce, but that was just as bad. Also, the sauce was so thick it was like gravy instead of sauce. We asked for the bill, and the server was all proud that he didn't charge us for the Cajun sauce, but he still charged us for the whole meal even though the chef messed up. We just wanted to leave ASAP. When we checked the bill, we saw we were charged more than what was advertised, especially for the beer and eggs. (I've posted the photos with the highlights). When we asked the server about it, he had no clue and thought the owner might've changed the prices because of an egg shortage, but he couldn't explain the beer overcharge. He finally offered us a 10% discount (so generous, right?). This place is definitely pulling a fast one, so make sure to double-check your bill before paying!

I had been waiting to try Fresh Off the Boat for a while and finally stopped by for lunch. The…read morespace is roomy with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. It is a very casual setup, so do not expect an elevated dining experience. We ordered the FOB shrimp and the Chicken Katsu plate. The shrimp arrived a bit too sour and noticeably greasy for my taste. The Chicken Katsu was average and lacked the flavor and crispness I was hoping for. The macaroni and cheese that came with it was also quite dry, which made the plate feel incomplete. Service is minimal since you order at the counter and pick up your food yourself. I went in with high expectations and left feeling disappointed, especially considering how popular the place seems to be. That said, I am still open to giving it another try. There are a few other dishes on the menu that look promising, and I hope they will deliver a better impression on my next visit.

The menu changes depending on what they're making, but they have certain items that are pretty consistent. One of those is poke. I LOVE their poke here, they have their own seasoned poke mix with fresh fish, veggies and sauce and it is delicious. They offer it as nachos, a bowl, or loaded fries and while I'm tempted to try some of the other options the bowl is my go-to. The poke bowl is $15 and comes with rice with furikake as well as a good portion of poke. Like I mentioned, it's preseasoned and it delicious. The ingredients are fresh and I love their flavor combination. I would love if the bowl came with a scoop of mac salad, but with the portion at this price I'm happy to add it as a side. I ordered the spring rolls ($4) and it came with five pieces of crispy and flavorful fried spring rolls. Great value for the price. I also ordered the pork laulau ($14) and Musubi ($3) for my husband and the portions on these were also great. The musubi was hot and flavorful and they gave me some FOB sauce with the musubi that went surprising well together. The laulau plate had mac salad, rice, and the wrapped pork. The pork was fattier than some of the laulau I've had in Hawaii, but was flavorful and the whole plate was a perfect portion for the price. The team working here was very friendly and helped me get in and out with my to-go order pretty quickly. The food was packed with care and made it home and was still nice and hot after the drive. They use high quality to-go containers and line them with aluminum foil which is a nice touch. They also made sure the vents were open on the spring rolls so they'd stay crispy. They have plenty of seating inside, as well as some outdoor seating. This restaurant is a bit tucked away, but has plenty of parking. I will definitely be back, and I won't wait as long between visits, because the food is so good! Check out their instagram for specials.

This was the first time we got the nigiri on one whole plate and I'm not sure if it's because they weren't busy or if they changed things around. I'm not sure which one I ate but it had a clear thin layer on it, not sure what fish it was but it just didn't taste right to me. But every other nigiri was great. The rolls were good, bento is still not anything to brag about but it's for the kids and my kid seemed to like the salmon. The main reason I wanted to leave this review was the service. Our server was not friendly, borderline rude but not rude. Never seen her before, she's older. She NEVERRRRRR checked on us at all. She kept putting her fingers on the actual plate when describing the nigiri, didn't even really know which one was which. I was really shocked her fingers were on the plate. She didn't touch the sushi, the plate was big but her fingers were on the plate. Only time she came was to take our order, bring some of the food and that was it. The other servers, the younger two girls and the guy, always amazing! Please let me just say all the servers who are always there are so pleasant and kind so I hate to make this review about a server, but it bothered me.
