    Chicken and rice bowl

I stopped in here to pick up a quick dinner and it did not disappoint. It took about 10 minutes for them to prepare our food which I didn't mind waiting because I'm glad they make everything fresh and to order. They even came out to our car when the food was ready to let us know it was ready. Their menu is primarily beef, but I wasn't in the mood so I got the chicken bowl which comes with chicken, rice, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was super good. Definitely will return here.

I miss Chill and Grill and the owner. However, I had to try this new place. Some of the good things about Halal 5 is that it's fast and you can order online. I think the options are somewhat limited, but that is why everything is made up in taste. They do have a neat array of smoothies that I've tried for fun, and I have to say that it was worth the adventure. The nice thing about this place, aside from the additional table that they added is that the options are generally on the healthier side and the food is decent too. I won't say it's the best food I've had in my life, but it's a decent staple to add to your restaurant rotation or you are in need of a quick meal to take home. I get the impression most people order to go, so you won't see people their eating, unlike the previous establishment, but I think it has more to do with the type of food, that makes it easier to take home, than anything about the quality of food itself. I do hope they stay their for a bit, because it is a nice option to have when you don't want to do fast food from a burger chain.

The lamb gyro sandwich was chewy like overcooked steak. The portion was generous tho. Friendly people here. Maybe try something else.

I used to come here at least once a week when I commuted back home from work and the quality never fails! everything is always so fresh and flavorful! (I came here so often the owner started to recognize me and my order so you know it's good! ) I do wish the french fries were more crispy, however the food is still delicious! Portions are good as well and reasonably priced. I believe there are other halal 5 locations, but this one is super convenient because it's right off of hwy 59.

everything was really good about this place, went to the food truck. it has a mexican theme to it and the food was pretty good. The sauce and rice are what is different. taste good but i tired to reheat it and it wasn't that good. other stuff looks good & the owner was really sweet!

5 stars for Hala 5. Just swung by their new food truck on the corner of HWY 6 and Bissonet (9220 Hwy 6 South) and it blows the competition out of the water. Good portion size, reasonable price, fresh ingredients, and perfect amount of seasoning and spice. Highly recommend to anyone in SW Houston between Sugarland and Westchase looking to fill up on some good Mediterranean/Middle Eastern street food. They have hamburgers, tacos and quesadillas that are to die for too. Come check it out.

I eat at their food truck on West Belfort all the time and this new brick and mortar shop is just as good. When they say spicy they mean it!

We also shared the rosé tteokbokki, which is pretty creamy so def recommend pairing it with another dish but it was also tasty! Definitely gonna come back as im craving the soy wings hehe. My family and I walked in and immediately I was curious why on a Saturday afternoon the restaurant was not busy. Although the food was delicious, what was lacking was the service and communication. We arrived at the restaurant, and they had two other tables that were enjoying their lunch. We were their third occupied table. We looked over the menu and ordered with a young gentleman server. After we ordered, I noticed another customer came and sat right behind our table and they ordered as well. I'm unsure whether the restaurant prioritizes online and takeout orders, but throughout our visit, the kitchen continuously brought food to the pickup window while servers packaged to-go orders. What made the experience even more frustrating was that a table seated behind us received their food before we did, even though they had arrived after us. When the food was delivered to the table behind us, one of the staff members appeared surprised and gave me a look that seemed to acknowledge we had been waiting longer. By this point, we had already been waiting 35 minutes for our meal. Later, the staff brought out bowls and spoons, so I asked our server how much longer the wait would be until our food will be serve. She responded, "About 10 minutes," but did not provide any explanation for the delay. After I asked about our order, I noticed the staff member relayed my question to another employee. This left me even more confused, especially since it seemed they were already aware that we had arrived before the table that had been served. In my opinion, the servers need to be trained better and communicate with their customers. Making fun of customers behind the host/cashier stand because I asked a simple question is not ok.

I love the salty soy garlic flavor! The Yangnyeom was not bad, but it was more sweet than I had anticipated. There wasn't really much spice to it. If you like sweeter sauces, this might be for you. The curly fries were scrumptious! The regular fries were a bit disappointing . Overall great job!

My wife and I have been to WC several times before for lunch, happy hour, and dinner but this was our first time for brunch. We had 1pm reservations and the sky looked like it was going to pour down ran any moment. Our hostess was very kind and let us pick the table we wished to sit in order to get a good view of the bar and windows to keep an eye on the weather and the arrival of our family members. Our server, Dane, was in top form and gave us suggestions for a starter. We were torn between the Jalapeno-gouda biscuits, Candied Bacon and other tasty sounding dishes and quickly agreed the Goat Cheese Fondue. The dish arrived shortly after our whole party was seated. Dane had great presentation as he drizzled olive oil over the steamy, bubbling cheese dish that looked amazing, smelled wonderful, and tasted even better. Melted goat goat cheese with a blend of olives, roasted tomatoes, garlic confit and thyme that we generously spread over warm toast points. It was all devoured in no time. Dane returned to clear our plates and took our order. The brunch menu is an exploration in so many things to suit your breakfast or lunch craving. We ordered the Strawberry Short Stack, the Hangover Burger, Brunch Sandwich, and the Steak and Egg Hash. Out of curiosity we also ordered a side of the Green Chile Cheese Grits. My wife and I love to share so the Strawberry Short Stack and Brunch Sandwich were perfect for dividing. Those pancakes are picture perfect, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Interestingly, Dane had asked if we wanted the toppings of strawberry compote, vanilla anglaise, whipped strawberry butter, and lemon shortbread crumble on the side so we could control the sweetness. For us that was the perfect suggestion as we were able to individually taste each accoutrement to build our perfect bite. The Brunch Sandwich was fantastic. Sometimes a breakfast sandwich can appear to be unwieldy but in this case it was manageable to cut in half and handle appropriately, The everything bagel was the right vehicle for this savory bite of fried-medium egg, layered with applewood smoked bacon, pickled Fresno peppers (for nice pop of spice), greens, american cheese, and a garlic-basil aioli. I didn't taste the Hangover Burger nor the Steak and Egg Hash, perhaps because I was a bit gorged on the pancakes and sandwich but the dishes looked amazing and I have a mental shortlist for the next time we dine at WC. Oh, and I did mention that we were curious about the Green Chile Cheese Grits. Out of this world! Those grits stole the show. We all kept commenting on them. Get them. You will be rewarded. When we dine we always expect good food. For us, service is the reason to come back. Dane was an outstanding server. He had personality and hospitality which is rare these days. He was conversationally engaging. He never lingered too long, always seemed to anticipate what we might need, politely asking to clear plates. Hat's off to Dane. Thank you Whiskey Cake for delivering a great dining experience to kick-off Father's Day weekend. We will be back.

And that takeout experience is just not good. 1. The portions of the sides make you feel like you're being robbed. You get about half of what you get dining in even when you order a large. And by that point that you're picking up, you've already tipped someone who doesn't really deserve that tip. On takeout, I will do a 10% tip & if they do a good job, I will give more. They make me regret the 10%. You get home & you think everything's there, and you realize, nope. You can either drive all the way back to the other side of town, or just accept what you got.
