Although the restaurant is quite small, we were able to fit our party of 9 on a Wednesday night. We started off with the chicken satay and chicken wings for appetizers. The chicken satay was just okay, but the sauces made it better! The chicken wings were really good, and the sweet chili sauce paired great with it! For my entree, I went with the khao soi (curry egg noodle). Everyone was wowed by the presentation! The flavor of the curry was great, and the mild level spice was perfect for me. I really liked how the soft egg noodles paired with the crispy fried noodles on top! My only issue with it was the chicken in the curry, which was quite dry. The chicken pieces were quite thin, so it was probably overcooked. I would definitely come back for the khao soi and chicken wings! read more

A lot of the usual Thai dishes on the menu.  We went with some of our favorite Thai dishes, something that was easy to share for a table of 6. You can pick your spice level and choose a protein (e.g. chicken, beef, veggie, seafood for an additional charge). - pad see ew - pad thai - crab fried rice - thai red curry - papaya salad - mango sticky rice   We enjoy everything we ordered. My favorites were the crab fried rice and papaya salad. Good portion and the spice level was tolerable. The mango sticky rice was perfect way to end the meal. Service was friendly and quick. Our server checked in on us many times and asked if everything was good. Overall, a solid Thai spot in the area to check out. read more

Was looking forward to trying Thai Town since a coworker said the ratings were good. Unfortunately, this place was a miss for me. If you dine here, it's more for the aesthetics and not the food. Service was ok; felt slow. First sip of the Thai tea was good initially, however there was a strong/funky lingering tea taste i wasn't crazy about. Tom yum was overpriced but delicious. Most tom yums at other restaurants usually come with shrimp, but at Thai Town you pay extra for the protein chosen. Probably one of the worst khao soi I've had in a while. More on the sour/bitter side than savory. Soft noodles were not good quality; chicken was dry. Not sure if drunken noodle with chicken got left out a bit. Enjoyed the dish but it was lukewarm when brought to the table. Took a while to flag down a worker for the check. Wasn't a terrible experience but there's better Thai options in Sugar Land/Houston area. read more

Food was great, as was its presentation. The service was also quite quick and I enjoyed the variety of options. Probably more of a modern Thai place rather than traditional. There was also plenty of parking. My only major quip is that upon entering, the tables were filthy. Came here after lunch hour, and the restaurant was still a little packed. There was no wait for a table for two. The restaurant was decorated simply. Parking was free, and there were ample parking spots. Started with the chicken satay dish, and it was just ok. There wasn't any flavor to the chicken satay nor the sauce that came with it. The pad woon sen was flavorful, but the crab fried rice was a letdown as it was tasteless. The service staff were friendly and polite, but the food wasn't up to par. read more

We've been coming here for awhile & everything we have ordered has been spectacular. The portions aren't the biggest in comparison to other spots in the area, but the presentation & flavor are top notch. The service is always fast, the servers are knowledgeable about the food & are unbelievably pleasant & attentive. As for the ambiance, this restaurant, while modestly sized, (& still has never had us waiting long for a seat) is really beautiful. They did a wonderful job decorating. They went above & beyond in the aesthetically appealing touches. I'd come here just for the Thai tea & to look at everything. The music choices are superb as well. I walked in as a party of three and was seated promptly. One thing that was interesting was this place was quite loud somehow. The interior is cutely decorated and it's a fun vibe. Our waitress was very kind and patient with us girlies who were keen on getting a yap session in but kept forgetting to see what we wanted to order. We decided to go family style and order the khao soi, pineapple fried rice, and pad kee mao. We also tried the cheese rolls. While the food was "good", I would not say that this tasted like authentic Thai food. The pad kee mao was a very dark brown and gummy, the pineapple fried rice was a not giving UTs usual taste that you'd get elsewhere, and the khao soi was decent. However, there's strong flavors in Thai food that just were not present. I'm curious to know what their curries taste like. The employees were really cool about family style and offered us extra plates and bowls and even offered to box up our leftovers. I'd say that this place is good if you want to get your Thai fix, but would not call it authentic. read more

Thai Town is a busy thai restaurant in Telfair. It offers a good amount of big tables so you can enjoy with your group and also a bar section so that you can also dine alone if you wish (though to be honest, I wouldn't be mad if they removed the bar area because there was no one sitting at the bar and no bartender working the bar either). The service is fast and friendly and we were seated and attended to very quickly. Of everything we tried, I would say that the Khao Soi, Crispy Garlic Catfish Fillets, and the Drunken Noodles were my favorite. Typically, you will find all of the same dishes on a thai restaurant's menu and they all taste relatively similar. I'm not sure what it is about Thai Town, but all of their dishes have a unique and delicious fragrance. Their stir fried noodles also have a smokiness similar to wok-hei in cantonese cooking. I'm not so certain that this is a hidden gem since it was very busy when we visited around 2pm on a Sunday afternoon, but the crowds and whatever hype there is is valid. The food is tasty and authentic and the prices/portions are more than fair. read more

We tried A LOT of dishes here. Came to thai town for father's day and we ordered a variety of dishes including: papaya salad, drunken noodles, pad thai, crispy catfish, khao soi, green curry, larb and mango sticky rice. The service was very fast and interior was well designed. Food was all very delicious! Our favorite and top contenders were the khao soi and the garlic grispy catfish. The dishes were full of thai flavor and balanced well. I wish they gave a bit more rice than the small bowl for all the curry dishes, but that's just a small knock on the restaurant. I love that this place exists in SL! Been needing some more good thai in the city. Will be back! read more

I had the Thai Ice Tea and thai red curry for lunch with my coworker one day. Overall, I thought it was a smaller portion than average. I also thought the taste is not as good as other thai red curry I've had before. Perhaps it is because I asked for thai spicy level. It's a cute little space for lunch though. Delightfully delicious Thai spot in Sugarland... Thai Taste offers some traditional favorites as well as some surprisingly novel twists. Beef lamb was delicious with the house made chili crisp. Crab fried rice was full of lump crab meat. Khao soi was every bit what we wanted. And we ordered the pad Thai with the crispy noodle option, which we had never seen before, but gave an interestingly novel twist on the old pad Thai. Overall very happy with our meal. read more

We came for father's day lunch, and it wasn't a long wait at all. The staff were super friendly and our server greeted us immediately. The place is also decorated nicely with modern interior and greenery! We got a bunch of dishes to try family style, but the ones that stood out most were the Garlic Crispy Catfish (CS.4) and the Thai Drunken Noodles (N3). The catfish was crispy on the outside and hot on the inside and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the drunken noodles over the pad thai and I loved that nothing was too oily or underwhelming. Everything tasted great and we finished all our dishes! I do think that the thai ice tea was just okay and nothing crazy. Tried while on the road and there were many people there for a Monday! They have an extensive menu and tried the chef special spicy catfish. Got the medium which was perfect because they go extra spicy here. Also have khao soi which I don't see all the time at other places. Great food. Wonderful, friendly & attentive staff. I've been here a few times just for the mango sticky rice. Mango is perfectly ripe, juicy & sweet every time (how do they do that??). Also, the rice is warm & fluffy when served, perfectly contrasts the cold mango. One of my all time favorite desserts. I also enjoy the seafood pad thai with their mild spicy sauce. If you can tolerate hot Buffalo sauce or tabasco, the mild spicy sauce will be a walk in the park for you- really is just a mild, low burn compared to real thai heat. 4 stars because of price, it gets expensive quick, but otherwise I love to treat myself here. read more

Obsessed with this place! Best Thai food I've had in a while. So good that phone didn't eat first. We ordered the yellow curry with beef at Medium spice level. It was the perfect amount of spice! Not to say it was bad, because I liked it all, just filled me up pretty quick. They offered to adjust, but I was fine with it. Wanted to really like it here as we were big fans of Silom station that occupied the space previously, but our experience fell a little flat. The staff was really nice and the Thai green tea was good. We got two orders of drunken noodles, one with shrimp and one with tofu. The noodles were a bit overcooked and oddly very sweet, definitely the sweetest version I've had of this dish. We came here for a late weekday lunch and was welcomed with attentive service and some great food. I had to try their khao soi with chicken drumstick, as a good khao soi is hard to come by. After having the dish in Chiang Mai in Thailand, I've been looking for it here in Houston. This one comes very close and is also just at my spicy threshold (even with their mild). The pineapple fried rice has great presentation with it served in a cute pineapple, but it also is one of the top pineapple fried rices we've had. Just a nice balance of flavors. I am a sucker for some good Thai food and their Pad Kee Mao is very good! I really enjoyed it. This place is in the same spot that Silom was in and if you know me, you know Silom was my favorite place to be but the quality of their food and service had gone down. I am sure that this place has the same owners or something like that. I also want to mention that the server that we had was absolutely amazing!! He was nice, attentive and patient because since they are new, we had lots of questions. Also. . .the decorations that are in there are the same ones from the last restaurant.
