This is a top tier Thai spot & I'm genuinely happy that I got to enjoy it. * Chicken Satay - 4/5, peanut sauce was delicious pairing * Khao Soi (classic, delicious egg noodle soup) - 4.5/5 * Crab fried rice - 5/5, THIS IS THE BEST CRAB FRIED RICE I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, good portion of crabs & not too salty or under-seasoned, it was perfect * Mango sticky rice- 4/5, we were already full but I can't passed up one of my favorite dessert, they were extremely generous with the coconut milk that it overpower the mango flavor, minus 1 point for personal's preference * Green Thai Tea - 5/5, I never had green Thai tea before and it officially became my new favorite drink! Delicious Thai food in sugarland! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is not huge and we were surprised to see the restaurant so busy on a Saturday early dinner (~5:30pm).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great. All wait staff help with all tables here. I tried the khao soi which was a tasty curry dish with crispy noodles and a unique presentation. I also tried the drunken noodles and liked the unique sauce they use with a hint of smoky flavor. It was nice to see most food can easily be made vegan or vegetarian upon request. I did see a photo of prior menus offering vegan protein but they must have gotten rid of that as the menu we were offered only had tofu as the vegetarian protein options. Located in Sugar Land, we came here for a late lunch on a weekend. Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. It wasn't crowded so we got seated right away. A lot of the usual Thai dishes on the menu.  We went with some of our favorite Thai dishes, something that was easy to share for a table of 6. Great food! The Khao Soi had a slightly fishy after taste on certain bites for me, but I still really enjoyed it and would get it again next time! Yellow curry was my favorite, and the papaya salad is my favorite one I've tried at any Thai restaurant! We got everything medium spicy, and it had a great spice level! Me, my wife and 2 kids had an amazing dine-in experience here. It was our first time here and our waiter Louie made us feel welcomed. After we sat down, he made sure answer all our question and gave us a few recommendations that we will have to try next time... even the pineapple fried rice Louie..even the rest of the staff was nice and welcoming, making sure that even if Louie was at another table taking orders that we were helped or vice versa. Now on to the foods. First I had a bowl of soup in which I can't remember the name. It was a delicious soup that reminded me of something similar to what my Abuela would make when I was younger. A rich broth and cilantro and other herbs to give it a fresh warmth taste. My wife had the crab fried rice which she said that the crab tasted fresh and the fried rice was delicious. My daughters had chicken fried rice in which after watching them devour it all would say it was probably delicious. We then ordered this big beautiful whole fried fish" which was bass" and it was delicious. Most of the meat is already skinned off of the fish and fried making it easier for us to eat. The sauce they put on top had a heavy garlic taste and it was delicious. Next time we come we are going to try the whole fish tilapia. Was looking forward to trying Thai Town since a coworker said the ratings were good. Unfortunately, this place was a miss for me. More on the sour/bitter side than savory. Soft noodles were not good quality; chicken was dry. Not sure if drunken noodle with chicken got left out a bit. Enjoyed the dish but it was lukewarm when brought to the table. Took a while to flag down a worker for the check. Thai Town is a busy thai restaurant in Telfair. It offers a good amount of big tables so you can enjoy with your group and also a bar section so that you can also dine alone if you wish (though to be honest, I wouldn't be mad if they removed the bar area because there was no one sitting at the bar and no bartender working the bar either). The service is fast and friendly and we were seated and attended to very quickly. Of everything we tried, I would say that the Khao Soi, Crispy Garlic Catfish Fillets, and the Drunken Noodles were my favorite. Typically, you will find all of the same dishes on a thai restaurant's menu and they all taste relatively similar. I'm not sure what it is about Thai Town, but all of their dishes have a unique and delicious fragrance. Their stir fried noodles also have a smokiness similar to wok-hei in cantonese cooking. I'm not so certain that this is a hidden gem since it was very busy when we visited around 2pm on a Sunday afternoon, but the crowds and whatever hype there is is valid. The food is tasty and authentic and the prices/portions are more than fair. read more

Came to thai town for father's day and we ordered a variety of dishes including: papaya salad, drunken noodles, pad thai, crispy catfish, khao soi, green curry, larb and mango sticky rice. The service was very fast and interior was well designed. Food was all very delicious! Our favorite and top contenders were the khao soi and the garlic grispy catfish. The dishes were full of thai flavor and balanced well. I wish they gave a bit more rice than the small bowl for all the curry dishes, but that's just a small knock on the restaurant. I love that this place exists in SL! Been needing some more good thai in the city. Will be back! read more

The portions aren't the biggest in comparison to other spots in the area, but the presentation & flavor are top notch. While the food was "good", I would not say that this tasted like authentic Thai food. The pad kee mao was a very dark brown and gummy, the pineapple fried rice was a not giving UTs usual taste that you'd get elsewhere, and the khao soi was decent. However, there's strong flavors in Thai food that just were not present. I'm curious to know what their curries taste like. The employees were really cool about family style and offered us extra plates and bowls and even offered to box up our leftovers. I could say I love this place and I love the food but honestly the service is so garbage I would never go back again. I went with a friend for dinner and we decided to split the check. She left a 20% tip and I opted not to because she tipped for the table and I covered her drink. The server came back and told me there was "a problem" and to fill out my receipt so she could process it. Once again I didn't tip because my friend offered to tip for the both of us. And then a second server came up and lectured me that it doesn't matter that my friend tipped for the both of us. That I also had to leave a tip and she stood over us to make sure I wrote something down before we left. What that hell is that? In what world is it okay to DEMAND A TIP when you have already been given one! It ruins the whole mood of the dinner and make its very clear that your staff only cares about getting money out it's patrons even if it's a bunch of college kids. You got a tip and you're demanding more? I'm sorry but it's not my job to pay your staff. Pay your damn employees and hire people with some integrity not some money hungry assholes who are shaking people down for tips. Do not go here. read more

Delightfully delicious Thai spot in Sugarland... Thai Taste offers some traditional favorites as well as some surprisingly novel twists. Beef lamb was delicious with the house made chili crisp. Crab fried rice was full of lump crab meat. Khao soi was every bit what we wanted. The place is also decorated nicely with modern interior and greenery! We got a bunch of dishes to try family style, but the ones that stood out most were the Garlic Crispy Catfish (CS.4) and the Thai Drunken Noodles (N3). The catfish was crispy on the outside and hot on the inside and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the drunken noodles over the pad thai and I loved that nothing was too oily or underwhelming. Everything tasted great and we finished all our dishes! I do think that the thai ice tea was just okay and nothing crazy. Tried while on the road and there were many people there for a Monday! They have an extensive menu and tried the chef special spicy catfish. I think the theme that I picked up was heavy on flavor. Everything tasted great, but each dish was so salty, I could feel my blood pressure go up. The lemonade was extremely sweet. Not to say it was bad, because I liked it all, just filled me up pretty quick. They offered to adjust, but I was fine with it. Great food. Wonderful, friendly & attentive staff. I've been here a few times just for the mango sticky rice. Mango is perfectly ripe, juicy & sweet every time (how do they do that??). Also, the rice is warm & fluffy when served, perfectly contrasts the cold mango. One of my all time favorite desserts. I also enjoy the seafood pad thai with their mild spicy sauce.
