Mango lassi. I added it during eating, 10/10. It wasn't too sweet, very balanced.

Food was great, quick, and the space was very causal. I bought butter chicken, butter nan and a mango lassi for a total of $33.02. The host easily explained any questions i had and the service was quick. It seems they are relatively new.

Came here, midday, mid week for lunch with some coworkers. Staff was very friendly and nice. Fairly simple menu. Food took a little while to come out, but we had a large group of about 10 people. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the biryani. I found it to be really good and well spiced. Good portion size. I would come back for takeout!

Food was bland. The chicken kebab was extremely hard and not edible. The samosa was good and freshly made.

Loved the Turkish soda and butter chicken! The meat was super tender and packed with flavor. And the sofa seat was so comfy.

Shami kabob, chicken qorma and garlic naan were all really delicious. Great to have a halal restaurant like this in Menlo Park.

The cocktail selection is diverse and creative, and the food menu has a great range to explore. I love the chandeliers and murals inside the restaurant. It makes for a perfect date night or family dinner. Fair warning: this is more Americanized Indian food than authentic, so go in with that expectation. But if you're okay with that, the quality is consistently excellent, the service is great, and the cocktails are some of the best.

I was heavily pregnant at the time, and my husband had planned a special dinner for me and my mother. We intentionally chose the day before Mother's Day, thinking it would be less crowded and more relaxed. About an hour into our meal, while we were waiting for dessert and already wrapping things up, the hostess came over and rudely asked us to vacate our table. We had arrived on time for our reservation, and with our toddler already past bedtime, we certainly weren't planning to linger. What upset me the most wasn't just being rushed--it was the way it was handled. There was no apology or acknowledgment from the hostess. Our server did try to make things right by offering complimentary dessert, which I appreciated, but by then the experience had already been spoiled. We have celebrated several special occasions at Rooh in the past and have always had great experiences, which made this incident even more surprising. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable celebration before Mother's Day turned into a disappointing one, and I don't see myself returning.

Located in a…read moredecades old strip mall, the festive window instantly signals something different lies ahead. I have never been to India, but I felt instantly transported by the interior design. I can absolutely image that this is exactly what the restaurant would look like had it opened in India instead of Menlo Park. Upon being seated at your table, you are presented with a QR code to place your order. We were proceeding as such, but our first timer-ness must have been showing because someone arrived at our table with paper menus and an offer to take our order in person. The menu is extensive with lots of categories. We ordered Masala Fries, Butter Chicken, Shrimp Noodles, and plain Naan. Our group of three was eating at a later hour than usual and didn't want to overdo it with too many dishes. We did end up adding an order of rice to finish off the chicken. Everything was delicious. Lots of people came in to pickup takeout orders. The only negative--the automatic service charge and additional tip option which endlessly confuses me. I have no idea what the expectation is in the restaurant industry or what I'm within my rights to do as a customer. It puts a bit of a damper on what was a wonderful experience. I would rather pay a little more for each dish than be completely stressed out of the end trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do.

Barely could tell it was veggie. 4.5 stars - Biryani: packed full of of flavor and even though we got the milder one with chicken on the bone, had a kick. 4.25 stars - Shrimp skewers: sizable simple shrimp cooked fine hidden under a lot of veggies including bell peppers, onions, broccoli, and kale. 3.5 stars - Spinach paneer: mellow flavors and textures. 3.5 stars - Can order online but also can order from the staff Midlights: - Menu online but quite long so harder to navigate with so many items. Would have preferred to peruse a physical menu. - Casual restaurant but standing table numbers were odd like the ones you get when you order at a counter, but you order at the table. Location: - In a very small strip mall on a busy street. Parking has a few spots but many are only 20 minutes which is hard when you're dining in.

Ordered food to be delivered and it was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a while…read more First, the samosas were delicious. I don't typically like samosas because in my mind they should be crisp and not heavy, and they always end up being doughy and hard. These are lighter and crispier than normal and super enjoyable. The dahi puri chaat was so good. I love that everything was packed in separate small containers so that everything stayed crisp - I was most worried that this would be soggy when it arrived. My mom was craving biryani, and this did not disappoint. The rice was tender without being soggy, everything was very flavorful and not too spicy. Someone else noted that the butter chicken was the best they'd ever had and I concur. It's sweet, savory and there's tons of kasuri methi in it to give it the most perfect flavor. They were also very generous with the chicken, so I didn't find myself fishing around in a container full of sauce looking for small pieces of meat. My only complaint about this was that the containers were quite small for the price. Garlic naan was my mom's least favorite thing, but I thought it was great. She prefers her naan to be very fluffy, and I prefer mine to be thinner and more on the crisp/chewy side, which this is. Not a ton of garlic flavor, but enough to add a little something to the butter chicken. I would probably go with plain naan next time though. This meal was so good that my husband and I fought over the leftovers. I was trying to hoard them so that I could bring them to work for lunch and he was trying to eat them the next day. The pakora was too fried, causing the chicken inside to be very overdone. The naan texture was already stale-ing (a little too tough to be truly fresh), and the "entree" - I understand it's part of a lunch special so it's not going to be full size but still- had maybe 4 small chunks of chicken. Can't comment on the ambience because we got takeout but the service was good- very nice to interact with staff on the phone and then at pickup. Will not be returning, however, due to low quality of food even at lunch special prices. EDIT- the business owner replied and now claims my companion returned and "enjoyed their meal," which is not just untrue but unhinged behavior! Avoid this place at all costs.
