I went in for my root touch up and after the color was put on my hair the "stylist" then informed me that the 120.00 service I went in for was now 180.00, if I were told of the price change before the service began I would not have proceeded with the service. They have the right to charge whatever price they want but tell the customer of the price change BEFORE THE SERVICE!!!! This is up charging shady business practices. Very sneaky and underhanded. I had even brought the stylists children Christmas gifts, you would think she would have had the professionalism and kindness to inform me before the service started of the price hike. Unethical person with very little consideration for her client.

I called 4 different places on my day off asking for a walkin appointment and Terri at Hairology got back to me very promptly. I was in getting my cut within 2 hours of calling. Other places in town didn't call back for 3-4 days. The inside looked great. Very comforting and presentable. Even had a place for kids to do homework or watch TV. I came in without any idea about what I wanted but after I found something close Terri was able to tailor the style specifically to me. I would recommend Terri to anyone looking for a quiet place to get your hair done. Great job!

Even though we were technically a walk in the quality of the service did not diminish at all. Soben was patient and detailed. My son is in this phase where he wants his haircuts with scissors only and she did an amazing job his hair looks so good. The vibe of the salon was very calm we did go in the afternoon right before closing as this was the time that worked best for your schedule. My son felt welcomed and super comfortable he talked Soben's ear off lol but she was attentive which we appreciate as the talking probably did distract him from the haircut he's been so scared to get. My son who was scared to get a haircut can't wait to go back an update her on his friends.

I was a short-term client of Roni Aust. Before seeing her, I had gone to the same hairstylist for…read more11 years, and we remain friends. I have known Roni for approximately 30 years, since high school, so I approached this professional relationship with trust and expected better treatment. I cannot recommend Roni based on repeated last-minute cancellations, retention of payment for a service she never performed, and the way both she and Chosen Salon's owner have handled my complaint. On October 1, 2026, Roni requested a $375 prepayment to reschedule my color appointment: $310 for the service and a $65 tip. She explicitly said the payment would go toward my next appointment. She did not describe it as a cancellation penalty or say it would be forfeited. I also offered to keep the original appointment if rescheduling was an issue. She then canceled three replacement appointments: October 9 with 1 hour and 9 minutes' notice, October 10 with 2 hours and 37 minutes' notice, and October 16 with just 11 minutes' notice, when I was already at the salon. She never performed the color service. As of October 21, 2026, she has retained the entire $375--including the tip for work she never did. When I requested a resolution, she cited reasons for keeping my money that did not match her posted cancellation policy or the terms communicated when she requested prepayment. Rather than receiving an apology or acknowledgment of her responsibility for canceling these appointments, I received messages I found hostile and unprofessional. Separately, on March 3, 2026, while Roni worked at Illuminate Salon, I paid her $885 for extension hair. On October 20, 2026, she produced one weft with no accompanying invoice, receipt, or documentation identifying its price, brand, or weight in grams, despite my requests. I also notified Tina Munoz, the owner of Chosen Salon, about this matter. As of October 21, 2026, she has not acknowledged my complaint, reached out to me, or offered any assistance toward a resolution. In my view, that silence reflects poorly on the salon's professionalism, customer service, and care for clients in this community. Three canceled appointments. Payment retained for a service never performed. A prepaid tip kept. Requests for documentation unanswered. No resolution or acknowledgment from the owner. This experience showed a disregard for my time, my money, and the inconvenience caused. I would not trust this business with another appointment or prepayment. I have retained the text messages, payment records, and appointment timeline supporting this review. I am happy to provide that documentation to Yelp or anyone seeking further information. This matter remains unresolved. Roni has been given a deadline of November 2, 2026, to resolve it. If it remains unresolved, I intend to pursue recovery of the funds owed to me and any recoverable damages in small claims court.

I am extremely disappointed with both the service and the results. I came in hoping for a luxury…read morespa experience but left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. My hair is already black, and all I requested was a simple refresh with an all-over black dye and a trim. Instead, I was charged $305 and spent nearly four hours in the chair because the stylist was working on another client at the same time. For such a basic service, that kind of price and time are unreasonable, and to make matters worse, I left with visible dye on my scalp. This was far from a luxury experience, and I would not recommend anyone spend their money here.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE** **ABUSIVE OWNER**…read moreLets begin this review with the fact that I have been coming to this salon faithfully for YEARS. My hairstylist is amazing and has come to be a very close friend over the years. This is why this review will be so shocking to others as it was to me. Saturday May 30th 2026, I came in just for a regular color like every other appointment. I noticed my stylist was acting very concerned and the entire vibe of the salon was tense. The longer I sat there the more i realized what was going on. An older woman was doing a clients hair and was disgustingly drunk. There were also a group of MINORS (under 21) drinking as well. These underage kids were running all through the salon, banging on stuff, screaming, wrestling, etc. Then to my shock this older woman started making out with the minor while doing a clients hair??! It was honestly so unprofessional and embarrassing for Tress. Her client looked visably uncomfortable. I then noticed my stylist had gone in a back room and not returned for almost 45 minutes. Every employee kept trying to distract us, offer us drinks, etc. I texted my stylist to see if she was okay and the results were disgusting both as a client/friend and as a woman. My stylist was being verbally and physically assaulted by the same underage kids running around the salon. After confronting them she was even held at KNIFE POINT. The police were called and TRESS salon staff ushered them away claiming nothing was wrong. They continue to try to cover this up to save their reputation, even with my stylist now covered in bruises. They have tried multiple tactics to keep this quiet and my stylist has had multiple employees as well as her attackers (sent by the owner to talk to her) urge her to drop the story/report. All I have to say is that for a salon who so boldly claims to be "built by women for women", covering up the blatant abuse of a female employee doesnt seem so girls girl to me. Not to mention their employees being sloppy drunk with teenagers. I hope all the employees present and working to push the story under the rug look themselves in the mirror and are happy with what they see. This behavior is DISGUSTING. Dont ever spend your hard earned money here. This is NOT a family establishment or a safe space. I urge women to be careful and alert here.

I rarely write reviews, but I do read them when I am looking for a reliable…read more and trustworthy business to work with. If you do the same, you cannot go wrong with Chosen Salon, located on the corner of Cedar and Herndon in Fresno. After calling several different places around Fresno and Clovis, requesting to speak with a stylist before I made my decision, Kay at Chosen Salon was the only one who really seemed to take the time to truly care about making sure she could give me the style and color I wanted. It has been about 10 years since I had my hair cut at a salon and even longer since I had any color or highlights. I had an over the phone consultation, where Kay asked many questions about my hair history and what services I wanted. I sent her a couple different photos of possible haircut styles and some with the highlights I wanted, she even asked for a picture of me to see the length and color of my hair. After discussing how much the service would cost, I had to really think about it, but only for about 3 minutes, and decided to make the appointment. I felt like the price was very fair, considering the time it would take to cut, highlight, style my hair AND show me how to get the same look when I do it myself. When I first arrived for my appointment, Kay was waiting and ready for me as soon as I walked through the door. She excitedly welcomed me, we went over the pictures that I had previously sent to her, double and triple checked what I was wanting and expecting. We also discussed what products and tools I would need to do my own hair styling at home, which were things I already had but didn't quite know how to use for the style I was looking for. The salon had a very comfortable and calming vibe. The complete cut, highlights, and styling took about 4 hours, but with having Kay as my stylist, it really didn't feel that long because she was checking in with me, explaining what she was doing and what she would need to do next on my hair, and we were having fun and entertaining conversations. When she finished coloring and styling my hair, she gave me a 360 degree look in the mirror, it turned out better than I could have possibly imagined. The way she made my highlights blend and complement my natural hair color and styled my hair was ab-so-lute-ly amazing to me. I was really in awe of how Kay was able to exactly cut and color my hair the way I wanted. I wasn't sure what to expect, but she was able to create a completely flawless look!
