The stylist christen had me in her chair for 10 minutes. I asked to not have a mullet, and for her to cut the back of my hair. The complete opposite was done, I left with a mullet and extremely thinned out hair. The worst haircut I've got. For a price of $38 I'd pay not to go back. read more

Hands down the worst haircut that I've ever gotten. I'm really hard-pressed to believe that the older woman that did my haircut had any training whatsoever. She kept slamming the Clippers against my head instead of using them correctly and instead of shaving my neck and sides she scraped my skin with the Clippers causing a lot of pain and irritation. First of all, Christina is excellent at highlights and color. First time I went there I called beforehand and they gave me a price for the service. When I was finished, they tried to charge me $25 more than what I was quoted. After a long discussion he went ahead and charged me what I was quoted. I did ask him if I came back what would I be charged and he said the lower price and gave me a card with the amount.. So when I called again,they told me the higher price and I explained what happened before and she said OK OK. So I went in and had my service done and again they charged me the higher amount. Would not budge with the amount so I paid it. Just an FYI, when you go in confirm the price before the service is provided. So disappointed! read more

I went in for a trim, Christine cut more than 4 inches off my entire head! I specifically said that I was trying to grow my hair out, and Christine butchered me. Sure, it's a nice style, if you want a pageboy bowl cut. I went in with long beachy hair and came out $150 dumber. Seriously, I'd rather trust Cost Cutters or the neighborhood vagrant. The stylist CHRISTINE gave me the worst haircut I've ever gotten. Only took 15 minutes for a 30 minute appointment and she cut off more than 6 inches when I asked for 2-3 inches. Left with my hair still wet so tipped 20% thinking there was some hope that it would be okay if I styled it. Got home and noticed that it was uneven with face shaped layers I NEVER asked for and simply said long layers or a trim on how it was already cut... and it was botched. Completely rushed the entire appointment and didn't care what so ever. Really sad and disappointed. The man who worked there fixed it the best he could and saw how it was uneven and claimed that the stylist was probably tired. Don't go here and instead spend your money on a place that cares. read more

Christine was so sweet and listened to all my concerns about my hair. I wanted it shorter, but still in a ponytail. After she was almost done, I asked for another inch to be taken off and she did it without complaint! Then, on top of just a normal haircut, she braided my hair. Listen, my hair has NEVER been braided. I just keep it in a ponytail. And because I keep it in a ponytail, I have a lot a breaking where the hair band goes. She thinned it out and made it feel so much better. I promise you, I will be going back to her for all my hair cutting needs! read more

I am very disappointed with the service here. I went in for a trim and a style out. I am not from the area and needed to get something done for some professional headshots. I made it very clear that I just needed two inches off the ends and everything else the same. After my hair wash my stylist (who was very pushy and did not tell me her name) started cutting immediately. I am not a professional but the other times I have visited saloons a good trim has taken about 20 minutes and they have always asked me to turn to the sides and put my head down. She did none off this and also started cutting my bangs while wet and chopping off layers in the front. It's uneven now and i will have to go to another place to fix it. There are pieces sticking out and none of it is blended. When I pointed out some obvious parts that were choppy she brushed me off. When curling my hair to style me out she dropped the curling iron on me, I know mistakes happen but she was obviously rushing and trying to get done as fast as possible. I had made an appointment before hand so there should have been time budgeted for me and no need for that. The appointment in total took only about 15 minutes, which speaks to the fact that it was done rushed and carelessly with hardly any regard for the client. I am sure that all the staff at this establishment are good people who work hard and care about their clients. However, this was really really disappointing and a really frustrating experience. I would suggest another place in the area if you are looking for a cut. The time, money, and inconvenience of having to go rebook at another saloon should be saved and it is one of the most disappointing things to invest in a haircut and look worse afterwords. My son has received 4 or 5 haircuts from Eddy. He does an nice job - nothing extraordinary but nice. But, we always have to wait-15 minutes while he finishes another haircut before he's ready for my son and the place is filthy. Today though was a new low. He had another client and we had to wait 15 minutes only to have him leave for the bathroom and then never came back as he took his lunch break. I asked if everything was okay because why would you book an appointment if you're taking a lunch break at the same time? Then while cutting my sons hair he took a phone call and stepped away to talk for several minutes. The whole experience was disrespectful and I do not recommend the salon nor will be going back. read more

I called in advance, and spoke with the manager/owner. I asked if there was someone there that was competent with razor cuts and adding texture to fine straight hair. He scheduled me for 6:30 with him, and I confirmed that HE would be doing the cut. When I arrived he said that he talked to his "stylist" and that she was going to handle my cut. I should have walked out then, since he committed to doing my hair but then just passed me off. I decided to give her a chance, though, and unfortunately she couldn't cut a straight line, much less razor cut. She finally called the manager over to fix my bangs for her. All along the way he kept trying to tell me how fine hair can or can't be cut, but I happen to be fairly knowledgeable about what my hair needs. I finally got the front fairly close to what I wanted, but when I got home and looked more closely at the back of my hair I realized it was butchered. There is way too much cut off the back, and it's crooked! Good thing they're cheap, because now I have to go to someone who knows how to fix botched cuts and actually use a razor. I should have remembered that you get what you pay for. read more

I took a chance on this place despite that mediocre reviews as it is very close to my house and truth be told I hate driving. I was pleasantly surprised! The stylist provided me with the best wash and go cut I have ever had! Soft layers that take advantage of my natural wave while looking professional and finished. The other bonus was the stylist did not chat me up, which I really enjoyed. My daughter and I both had a wash and cut and we were in and out in 30 minutes which I thought was reasonable. I never know what's going to happen when I go in. I've gotten a good cut from Eddie, or I have been sitting waiting while he squeezes in an extra. Another cutter was excellent, so I made an appointment with her. When I showed up, she hadn't come in. I decided to give them another try, and called in. I was told Eddie "misunderstood", thought the appointment was with him. Basically, on disorganization and confusing madness alone, I just ran screaming... too bad, they had good moments. But, I am a busy guy and expect my time not to be wasted. Constant miscommunication has me looking elsewhere. Nice people. read more

HS28 was an amazing experience, Eddie and Christina were very accommodating and even offered me complimentary water and cookies during my appointment. This is a local barbershop that is up to date in hair trends and styles. They really care about what the customer wants and they remember you every time you come in. Should have read the reviews. Walked in for a pedicure, very conveniently located right next to my gym. 25$. No one was waiting, but their were two men getting their hair cut. They said '10 minutes,' and sure enough I was put in a massage chair, feet placed in lukewarm water, and offered a drink (water). The guy who walked me back said 'she'll be right with you,' brought me a stack of the same incredibly boring tabloids, and left me alone. I heard someone come into the salon for a cut. This apparently was a priority, because I was definitely not. 10 minutes later my supposed pedicurist walked past me and said she would be right with me. Lukewarm water no longer lukewarm. And bored. 10 minutes later she came back and gave me a very average pedicure. Very good 8 second massage. Noticed polish on the skin around most of my toe nails (hard to miss, I picked a blue color) when I left. Two stars because the place is pretty nice/clean, the massage chair worked, the women who gave the pedicure was apologetic, and the cooking channel was on to save me from getting really pi$$ed off while I waited. I've been getting my hair cut by Eddie for a couple years now and will continue to go here for the foreseeable future. My wife is often suggesting different hair styles in an uphill battle to keep me hip, and Eddie is always willing to work with me to try and find a way to make it work. More importantly, he'll tell me when something won't work. I took off one star, because sometimes I walk of there really liking my hair and other times its a bit off from what I was looking for. Being specific about what I want is usually the difference so I make sure to clearly describe what I want and am almost always very pleased with the results. The facility is nice with many other services, though I've only ever gotten my hair cut. It is also a good idea to reserve a time especially on weekends. Doing so gives you a front-of-the-line pass if there are a lot of walk-ins. Overall, this is a great place to go if you don't want to spend a ton of money on a haircut, but want to go somewhere nicer than a haircut chain store. read more

I have to write a review because Eddie is simply the best. Oh and did I mention you walk out with $75 haircut for under $20. My parents come to visit from Minnesota and hold out until they get here so Eddie can cut their hair. He is truly an artist. He does great Color and also has a great colorist. I end up walking out of his salon with a cutting edge style every time. His does a beautiful job on kids and men as well as women especially fine hair. Eddie is an excellent stylist with a lot of talent. He cuts hair very well. Eddie is so great at what he does that he has too many clients. He is always super busy and there are always people waiting to get their haircut by him. He always takes his time when cutting my hair, and isn't bothered by my pickiness. I can understand why people do not like the service and think it is slow. I feel it is totally worth the wait; but if you don't like to wait, go to great clips and get a crappy haircut. :) My mom is now a fan, and now my boyfriend. I'll give you a word of warning. If you're a female or apparently don't get Eddie as your stylist, avoid this place at all cost. My wife went here yesterday for a 10 AM appointment. She was greeted by a female stylist that apparently didn't have a name. After the horrendous 14 minute appointment (no exaggeration) where her hair was yanked around carelessly and cut very poorly, my wife called me from the car almost in tears. It's a shame that we can't support our local Lafayette business, but she'll never even consider going back to this place. Being new to the area, I relied on reviews to help me pick a place to get my hair cut. I arrived to appointment and was greeted, and taken to a chair. The stylist did not introduce herself, and was not very receptive to asking me what I wanted. Originally, I wanted a fun new hair cut, and some color. However, when I was trying to get feedback on if the look would work for me, she just started cutting. Not only did she not give me the cut I had shown her, but she added layers that were squared off, and did not flow with the rest of my hair. I left in tears, and then had to spend more money at another salon to correct the cut. The stylist did not even question why I was in tears as she was hacking away at my hair. Because of her cut, I ended up having to cut more hair than I wanted off, just to correct it. Please do not go to this place. They are not only cold, and unwelcoming, but they did a horrible job, and not once asked me what I thought. read more

Eddie has cut my hair for two years. I used to live in Evergreen and drop $80 on a cut at TallGrass Spa. Eddie does the same cut in half the time without all the fru fru and I'm out of there for under $20. Here is the thing. Previous bad reviews are the result of not calling to make an appointment, using only Eddie, and giving him a second chance. I agree with the pedicure comment. Studio 28 can't properly give pedicures because they are understaffed. I only go in to get a haircut and suggest for pedicures to go where there is a huge staff for a quick but thorough and well done treatments such as at Happy Nails. read more
