Beauty by Dolly never does me wrong and I'll never trust anyone but Faranak to thread my brows!…read more I've had two types of services done by Beauty by Dolly, threading and female Brazilians multiple times. Time and time again, they've been professional, kind, and great at conversations! I'm sensitive to pain, but they're amazing at making conversation to try and distract me from the hair removal pain. They've since closed their Black Mountain location, but the Carmel Mountain location is clean, has plenty of parking, and is easy to find and drive to. They offer tap to pay, and QR codes to pay whichever staff does your service. I personally have the brow tab, which gives you 6 brow threadings for the price of 5. She's insanely good at what she does as she pays attention to the shape of your face instead of doing the same brow on everyone, and the result always looks clean and even without looking overdone. I always walk out feeling like a brand new person. The other thing is she's super genuine and kind. She remembers you, asks how you're doing, and is warm with everyone who comes in -- it never feels rushed or transactional. I always look forward to my appointments because of her. Since moving to this area three months ago, I've been searching for someone whose work reflects the level of precision, care, and consideration that keeps me coming back. I'm happy to say that Antonia has been exactly that person. Her work was meticulous, thoughtful, and performed with genuine attention to detail. Just as importantly, she created a comfortable and welcoming experience. Our conversation felt natural and effortless--engaging without being intense, warm without feeling forced, and gentle without being overwhelming. It's rare to find someone who combines exceptional skill with such an easy and calming presence. Antonia is the reason I will continue returning to this location, and she has absolutely become my go-to wax specialist. I've been coming to this location for years and, until recently, had a wax specialist I really…read moreliked and trusted. Since the management change, however, I've gone through five different specialists in the past year. I don't believe the specialists themselves are necessarily doing a poor job, but that level of employee turnover certainly raises questions about the management and work environment. What happened today was especially disappointing. The manager herself booked my appointment last month. When I arrived today, I was told that the specialist I had been scheduled with was no longer there and that I had been assigned to someone I had never met--without anyone calling, emailing, or otherwise letting me know in advance. I find that extremely unprofessional. If a specialist is no longer working at the location, customers who have appointments with that person should be notified. Instead, I was simply expected to show up and accept a completely different appointment and specialist. I honestly don't understand why it was apparently so difficult to have that conversation with a customer. To be fair, the specialist who helped me today was great. I have no complaints about her work at all. My concern is with the management and the way this situation was handled. After years of being a customer, I'm disappointed that I no longer have confidence in the consistency or stability of this location. I'll likely finish out my current wax pass, but I don't think I'll be purchasing another one here. I would rather take my business somewhere with more consistent staffing and, more importantly, management that communicates with and respects its customers.

Brazilian waxing experience with Shardonnay 0/10. I scheduled an appointment with Shardonnay for…read morethe first time because I'm new at San Diego. I read about her before booking the appointment and it said she was the employee with the most time in the company. However, her attitude was tremendously horrible. I have to clarify that I arrived on time to the place, but the girl at the lobby was attending another client and was giving her a full introduction about all the packages and promotions they have, and afterwards she proceeded to charge her for the service she had taken. The receptionist took around five to six minutes doing it, until I had to interrupt her and tell her that I had an appointment at 5:30 pm with Shardonnay. It is at that moment that she notified Shardonnay of my arrival. When Shardonnay received me, she had an extremely negative attitude with me, since from the moment she greeted me, she did not allow me to go to the bathroom (which I needed) and started giving me a lecture about punctuality, without even asking me or asking herself or asking receptionist girl, if I had arrived late or if something had happened at the reception. It was to the point that she was not even able to greet me, but very frustrated about her tight schedule, she basically started scolding me and telling me that the service was not going to be the best because she only had 8 minutes to attend me since she had another client after me and that I "had arrived late"... Now, it is important to clarify that if that had been the case, the place policies give a 8-minute window to the client to arrive and still receive a good service. However, she kept saying that the service wouldn't be the best. At first I stayed quiet, but after she kept literally blaming and scolding me, I told her to do her job, but that I did not agree with her attitude, cause of course she had a very bad attitude cause of her frustration. She kept arguing and arguing until I literally had to tell her "just do your job". Very shamelessly she tried not to attend me because she now felt that I was angry, thing that I did not allow her to do because I did not drive from Chula Vista to Miramar, 30 minutes, for her to cancel my appointment just because she was in a bad mood. I sat down and took my service. She did a Brazilian service in 5 minutes. It hurt a lot, of course, because she was already upset and also in a rush, so she was very rough when pulling the wax. Afterwards she realized her mistake and started apologized, to which I literally responded that she didn't have to, what she did was already done. I only made her aware that I arrived on time, the receptionist took time attending another client, and I paid the price for it. So she can keep the apologies and that for next time she learn the lesson and at least she can greet and say what she have to say in a proper way. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY NO, and especially not with her. She may have been working there for many years, but her service and customer attention is THE WORST. She could have gained a loyal client, but because of her rudeness she did not.
