From the moment I sat down and the owner tried to educate me on my hair, I was uncomfortable. Her…read moretone was stern and unfriendly. She told me not to move my head unless I was told to because on ONE occasion I lifted my head to help her access the back of my head. I felt belittled on several occasions. She even seemed irritated that I was looking on my phone at the style I wanted while we were doing a consult. What a weirdo! She then washed my hair and told me to leave! She said I may have some type of communicable disease! Wow! I've never been treated so awfully by a hairstylist! Ma'am! I have eczema it's not contagious. I am a RN and yet still, she continued to try to give me her version of medical knowledge which was laughable! DO NOT go here! She was rude from the moment I sat down. And left me with wet soggy hair and kicked me out! Wow just wow! And she needs to see a dentist because honey, that breath was awful! Yeah I said it! Since Yelp decided that we can't address a business owners reply. I've decided to edit my post and reply below: I can appreciate your reply to appear professional on this platform as you attempt to avoid any additional business loss. Unfortunately, in person you are very different. I also need to address the many lies you've told in this space. First, you did not apologize twice, not even once. If you did, and were kind in your approach at the appointment, we would not be on yelp. Not at any point did I ask or imply that you should work out of your scope. You took my cape off and ran to open the bench seat where my purse was; THAT was when I first knew you weren't going to finish. You still didn't explain anything until I asked why I had to leave with wet hair. That is when you told me I may have a communicable disease! Let's be clear about how that all played out. You rushed me out and intended to let me know if I didn't hurry that there would be physical consequences!! You were the threat! You sat directly across from me on the bench (while the conditioner was sitting in my hair for 5-10 mins ) and didn't say one word to me. Btw, that was weirdly uncomfortable as well. While you were washing the conditioner out you told me that I should see a dermatologist ( to which I told you I already had last week for the eczema). You also told me that "no one ever scratches their head after the 1st shampoo. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that has ever done this, but I digress. You neglected the left side of the back of my head while washing, that's why it was itching. I just asked you to wash and scratch that area. I didn't initially ask you to scratch my head with your nails... BUT if you're going to do it, do my whole head! I scratched my hair one time! One time only and yes with vigor because you stopped and seemed upset, so I apologized and said I'm sorry I'm trying to be difficult but it is itching. And you said, " I never said you were difficult" ( in a condescending tone). And after you washed it better I did not scratch at all. Your lying is really something incredible. You didn't even ask me after you washed it the 1st time if I felt better. I never said the shampoo caused me to itch. I use Olaplex at home You didn't tell me about any products you were using until AFTER I asked you. Don't pretend that you were being diligent in informing me, like a proper cosmetologist would. You must be sick in some way where your fear consumes you. You have an unnecessarily long & off putting notice on your website about not coming in if you're sick. And for you to mention the stylist who recommended me to you ( because you do more black hair) and say I said anything negative about her is ludicrous. What I said was that my hair was falling out after she dyed it. Should I have not let you know that as a cosmetologist that's now dealing with my hair? I was very transparent with you both. She has never refused servicing me. My daughter and I have been going to her for over 6 years and we always have great conversation and hugs afterwards. And we will continue to go to her. How tacky of you to disclose my previous employer as well as my last name. You clearly are a very messy person. I understand that my complaints about your lack of customer service may make you uncomfortable, but you should have some type of boundary as a business owner. Just to be clear and dismiss any speculation, I would never compromise any patients health or my license! I worked too hard for that and my conscious wouldn't let me. Maybe you should grow one and stop the lies. When certain people are faced with difficult conversations and they are ill equipped in dealing with them, their true traits are much more apparent. And you are, innately, a mean and uncaring individual, despite what your words on this platform intend to

She has a slight attitude and I looked past that. When she began to braid my hair I sat patiently an allowed her to braid. As she begun to burn the ends of my hair I could smell something burning. I couldn't smell really good because I had my mask on. I pulled my mask down and ask her if she was burning my hair. She said no but I kept smelling it. I said again you're burning my hair. She stopped to take a break and I got up. She had swept up the hair and placed it in the thrash can. I took pieces of the hair out and unraveled it and sure enough at least one inch of my hair had been burned off, I was livid! When she returned and started to touch my hair I said stop. I told her to take one of the braids down that she hair burned and told her to look at it. I told her that she had burned my hair and showed her a picture of my hair before she touched it, it's to my mid back. I asked her to get the manager, she got the owner and she looked at it. I explained what transpired and she looked at it and agreed that it had been singed. The braided was told to take the hair down. I wanted to know how this was going to be rectified and the owner offered to do a ponytail but I said I needed a style that would last so I got a half individual half braids. The owner said she would give me something so the hair would grow back where the braider burned it, no charge. When the stylist was finished it was late and I wanted to get out of there. I asked how we were going to settle up and she tried to convince me that she was doing me a favor by not charging me full price. I said I shouldn't be paying anything because you damaged my hair. Not only did she damage my hair, she charged me. I paid and went home. I was so mad and disgusted I couldn't wait until the morning and call the owner to share my concerns. She was very professional and understanding and refunded my money. I'm sharing this because I don't want it to happen to anyone else. If you're a braider and don't know what you're doing you should not claim to. I'm still deciding if I want to take the braider to court for negligence, we will see. I will no longer patronize this business nor would I ever suggest anyone I know get their hair styled at this establishment. Thank you, Concerned Customer

She was able to get me in right after work. She quoted me on the phone $50-$80 depending on how long it takes. It took about an hour and 15 minutes to take down my hair and brush it out. I was charged $75. It's a tiny little cozy spot with the receipts. There was a little girl getting her hair braided in a seat next to me as well. The TV was on and it had a reality show playing for entertainment. Everything was gentle and smooth until we came to brushing out the hair. I am very tender headed and I really wish she would've held my hair from the roots and combed it out instead of just tugging her wide comb brush through my hair. It was painful. I do realize your hair can get matted and product buildup after a weave, but I do feel she could've been a lot more gentler. Other than that, I had no complaints.
