After receiving two bad haircuts in the area in one day and woefully down on my hair Crazy Horse…read morewas recommended to me at my eye doctor. I was telling them about my two horrible haircuts in a row experience so they had pity on me and recommended this salon stating everyone there was good. Being a gambler with little hair left I called to make an appointment and was able to get in fairly quick (3 days and one of those Thanksgiving). How good can they be if I got in so quickly I wondered. The salon was very large and very nicely done and I guess the size of the place and the number of stylist is why I didn't have to wait a week or more to get in. Their newest stylist I was told had been there a mere 7 years. I don't think they experience much turn over here and after my haircut experience I can see why. The atmosphere is casual yet clean modern professional without being too froufrou. I was blown away with Cheryl and what a great job she did repairing what was left of my hair. I really thought it wasn't salvageable! I didn't know it was possible for my hair to even feel like a great cut running my fingers through it. It both looked and felt good!!!! I recently moved to the area and kept putting off cutting my hair and was dreading the task but had no idea how dire my predicament. Fear not anyone in my situation because Crazy Horse is THE place to go! Be you new to the area or here for the season you have to check this place out. Thanks again to Cheryl you really saved me!

I'm a little late to post (I've been going to Scott for several months now) but wanted to jump on…read moreand tell everyone how amazing he is. I have "tricky" hair (very fine with cowlicks and random waves) and Scott is literally the only stylist I've been to who knows how to work with my hair and make it look not only great the day of the cut but also in every part of the grow-out phase. We started with a cute precision bob and then ultimately took the plunge and opted for a super-short pixie which I LOVE. I thought about growing it out (knowing that he would make it look fantastic during every stage) but I probably will keep it short, as it gives me more excuses to go visit him haha! Jokes aside, I really can't speak highly enough about him. Super great guy who listens to his clients and is clearly an expert at his job. Thank you so much, Scott!! -Melanie S.

I just had a fabulous haircut and a beautiful color with highlights at Scott Farmer Hair Salon…read more Scott is a Master Stylist and knows what he is doing. When I walked into his salon, yesterday, my hair was a complete mess with off color and an horrible uneven haircut. I walked out with a beautiful color and highlights and a great haircut. I have a lot of coarse, wavy, thick hair. I am so happy that I have found Scott. If you have my type of hair or any type, your are in fantastic hands with Scott. I can't wait until my next appointment. Finally, a Master Hair Stylist that can cut my coarse wavy thick hair. Thank you Scott. You are the best. Susan I

In one hyphenated word: RIP-OFF…read more Scheduling: annoying, deficient and hypocritical. (Yes, hypocritical.) Booked appointment days in advance and was required to give credit card (so JGS can charge for 24 hours or less cancellation). Not even the elite salons do that. The irony? 3 hours before my appointment, JGS called to cancel ("reschedule" me with someone else -- but let's face it -- that's a cancellation). My appointment had been scheduled for 2 PM, but was re-scheduled to 3:30 PM (at great inconvenience to me). Even more frustrating was that the stylist I was re-booked with was still working on another client and so my appointment didn't start until 3:40 PM. Normally I wouldn't mind -- I get it, appointments run over -- but under the circumstances? Not acceptable. Desk Receptionist (Vanessa): Condescending and indolent. Marketing: $50 hair cut "for new clients" is a deceptive ploy to get you in the door. There is tiny font that says "starting at," however, JGS surprise prices you. Also, added to every bill is a "5% Service Fee" (what the...???) and a $1.00 "Eco Fee" (again, what the...??). Surreptitious, deceptive, scam marketing and hidden, invented fees. Are you kidding me??? Hair cut: eh. The technique is textbook, not talent. Basic hair-cut requested, and the result is adequate, but not great. The stylist's predecessor client's hair was also just "eh." When you leave a hair salon, that's when your hair usually looks it's best and one feels great. Not the case at JGS. (The stylist herself, however, was very sweet and easy to talk to, but, c'mon, you ain't paying to make friends.) I discussed coloring, highlighting specifically, and was a bit horrified when the stylist endeavored to explain how the highlighting process worked and spoke of bleaching. Bleaching? Are you serious? I've had highlighting done for the last 15 years -- bleaching was not used because it destroys one's hair. The stylist was unfamiliar with non-bleach highlighting. Environment: phoney upscale m, corporate cookie-cutter, with overly loud music. Not peace-inducing at all. Product: they sell and use one (Aveena). If you have never tried Aveena let me spare you: overpriced disappointment in a bottle. JGS is not what it gives off airs of being. If you seek an upscale, classy, quality salon with real-world experience and knowledge beyond hair-care 101, this ain't it.
