The Parlor is a comfortable and beautiful beauty studio that has something for everyone. The staff is kind and professional. I recommend booking an appointment with Jimmy, since he is who I know. But if you call the studio and tell them what you are looking for, they will book you with the artist who specializes in what you want. I usually get a cut, color, highlight, shampoo and blow dry. It's relaxing and it's always beyond what I'm hoping for. Jimmy has cut 8 inches off my hair before, colored it, highlighted it... it's always amazing when he is done.

I really don't know where to start…read more I am new to the Atlanta area. My appointment was for a strawberry blonde coloring and sew in extensions which I called about beforehand to ask if they would be able to do as I know both require specific expertise. I was told that they could absolutely do that. I asked if there was a number I could send pictures of the hair color as well as what my extensions looked like to and they said they wouldn't need that. My hair is very fine for context. Any (trained) stylist would be able to tell from touching it and probably even just looking at it. The stylist (Naj) stripped my extensions from either the box cutter or the craft store thread that she used on my hair. The thread was very thick and I could hear it grinding against either my hair or the extensions. At one point, she cut my extensions into pieces and cut the ends off of the pieces "so they wouldn't stick out". I have been getting sew ins for around two years from a variety of stylists and have NEVER had anyone cut them on the seam. I lost around $1500 worth of extensions from the visit. The extensions have since unraveled and the hair is falling out in chunks. When she was installing the extensions, she FOLDED them and due to the insane amount of hair she put in one spot, I could feel the extensions sliding out of my hair (again my hair is very fine) and I am fairly certain that is why they fell out. Layering is normal with extensions and I have had that done before but the folding damaged the extensions. There were no extensions anywhere near the top or front of my head. I have never seen extensions applied this way and it made styling my hair difficult to say the least. Again, I didn't know any of this was a problem until it was too late BC I AM NOT A HAIR STYLIST. She used white blonde beads and white thread on my brown roots. I was at the salon for 7-8 ish hours and left with my hair wet and not styled as I did not have time to stay for longer (it was dark outside). Around hour five of the appointment I still had my head in the sink and she had still not finished coloring my hair. She also left bleed marks in my hair and left the bleach in my hair for over an hour. I now have breakage all over my head and my length is uneven and inconsistent with the volume. I left the salon with brown hair that was essentially my natural hair color. She had bleached my entire head including my ends which is apparently very bad for my kind of hair. Again, I have no idea what is or is not good for my hair when it comes to dying... thats why I pay someone else to dye it. Two weeks out from extensions being "put in" and they were falling out. Like I'm talking halfway hanging from my head. When I went back to get them fixed they said they were booked and only had time to bobby pin them to my head. This obviously only lasted a few days and they eventually fell out completely. They are now in a plastic bag. This left me with two small wefts of extensions on either side of my head leaving me with the only option being to put my hair in a bun until I could find a new stylist. When the owner texted me to follow up about the horrific experience I had she informed me that Naj has been doing extensions for eight years.... right. She also tried to use the owners health issues as the excuse for Naj destroying my hair.... pretty disgusting. My new stylist spent an hour trying to get the extensions out of my head because the hair was knotted around the weft from the method she used to install them. It seemed to me that this might have been her first encounter with extensions. I recognize that it is difficult to find someone that does the same method of extension application as my original stylist. I called many salons who said that they were not able to do that method so when I called this one and was told that they did, I assumed that meant that they could do this method. It is infuriating to find that not to be the case and have eight hours of your time wasted. One star is too many because I am in the negative both with the cost of extensions and with the cost of having to attempt to repair my hair. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR HAIR.

After my disaster at CJ's, I didn't want to go back, even though one of the stylists who did not ruin my hair does a really good haircut for my daughter. But I wanted to try somewhere new. Enter Hairbar. I chose this place for my 9 year old to get her haircut for her first day of school. She has wavy/somewhat curly hair and she wanted it straightened, along with a trim. The stylist took her back, shampooed and then brought her to the chair. She straightened it first, and then cut it with her standing up. My daughter was cringing the whole time she was getting the blow dry, and finally said the dryer was hurting/burning her scalp. The stylist commented that she burns her own daughter all the time, which really wasn't all that comforting. I could tell my daughter was uncomfortable with the straightener because she was so fearful of being burned. She's never acted like that before at any salon. I just held my breath, and thankfully that part went okay. When she finished the back of her hair, I could tell that her haircut was visibly crooked. I asked her to fix it, which of course meant taking off more length and then she kind of haphazardly cut the sides in a tapered look, but not even on both sides at all. She could tell, I guess, and then just kept snipping away at the sides. For $35, I felt that's a bit steep for a child under ten's haircut. They did have a 10% off offer on Yelp, but she denied it, saying they don't accept it. Well, someone should take it off the Yelp check-in page then. The other part I didn't like is that she literally stared at me the whole time I was paying, as in watching to see how much tip I was going to give. I gave the standard 20%, but felt uncomfortable being observed like that while trying to pay. Nice staff, but I can't say I'd come here again. The next day, I was speaking with one of my colleagues and she said she had been there once, and that she didn't like the haircut or style afterwards and never went back. Guess it's back to the drawing board.

Decided to book a hair appointment for today and it was my first time at Hair Bar. The layout and…read moreprocess is interesting but the interior is nicely spaced. The round table is used for hair coloring/bleaching and the chairs to the left are for the heaters; the station to the right is for styling while the back is for shampooing and rinsing. You gotta ask for Tim/Thanh when you book an appointment at Hair Bar. I actually followed him to this salom and he's been with me on my hair journey for 3 years so I fully trust his decisions with my hair. Why? Because Thanh loves my hair more than I do (lol) and he will always explain what he is doing to my hair. I really like his work ethic because he doesn't cut corners and wants to make sure you leave the salon looking and feeling better than when you came in. The price you pay for your hair reflects the quality of love and care that goes into your hair. So yes, I would recommend Hair Bar. Ask for Tim!

I have never been so relaxed after a spa treatment or massage. I felt cared for and the pressure was just right. The lady who did my service was so sweet and could tell I really appreciated her. I said thank you no less than a dozen times and laid there on the table with a smile. I want this weekly, forever. 10/10 would recommend to not just women but men too. This is too good to keep a secret, even though it's one large room with privacy curtains between stations it was clean, quiet, and I don't think I could rave about this experience more. If you're thinking about it, go. Seriously, you deserve this 90 minutes of bliss.

I really didn't want to have to make a review because the woman running this and doing hair was…read morenice. But she messed up my hair bad. Here's my experience. I find this salon thinking it's a salon. I get there and it was hard to find she wasn't clear on instructions when i called, and when i find the place it's just a small room. And it was dirty too. she had stains and things left out, old waxing sticks just sitting with the new ones. I have a bleached undercut and asked her to touch up on my roots because my birthdays this weekend and i want to look good for the beach. she rushes the application like dye is flying it hit me in the face and everything. she also rushed cutting my hair and you can kind of see in the pic how choppy it was. But she curled my hair and that hid everything so i was happy until i got home and my sister and i were going to fix the cut we noticed plenty of problems. you can just see the pictures speak for themselves. i texted her the next day saying id like to talk, she called me and asked for the pics so i sent them. she then called back and said she could fix it then made an appointment for me. then proceeded to blame ME for my hair looking like this. mind you i've been dying my own hair for 7 years and this particular style for 2years and it has NEVER looked like this. i make sure my hair looks good because it's my hair why wouldn't i? I got to the salon and told her i wasn't comfortable with her trying to fix it and that id like a refund on at LEAST the bleach. she told me she didn't see my text or the pictures i sent which is a lie because she called me in regards to it. she tried arguing with me over a refund and tried saying she can't do that but she runs the business so? i was telling her no she didn't even do what i asked, i asked for roots not to lighten the rest. that was her own decision and ignored my roots. i also don't think it was crazy to ask for the 110 back for the bleach job because her website says 65 and up for touch up. i understand the "and up" part but she also tried to fix where my natural hair was growing in and the black on top to try and make it look more natural (i can still see the line in between) so she charged me 110 for the brown, 110 for the bleach, and 52 for the cut. I also have her a 55$ tip. she tried sending me only 60 and i had to tell her no you didn't do what i asked. i also got the FLU after coming here! This whole week i've been opening the store alone and made no contact with anyone but going to her salon. i'm not going to point blame on her because you can get sick from anything but the timing and me not being around anyone leads me to believe i got sick from her. please don't go here it's a waste of money and time. and if you do ask to see her stylist license because how do you even have one if you do this? Its crazy to me she let me walk out like this. (the pic with the curls is when i got it done. you can see how choppy the cut is, and i wanted it shorter and she literally told me no) (she also threaded my eyebrows and did not shape them)

It's like she wanted to cut my hair in the quickest time possible. She also had to straighten my hair to cut it. Never seen that before in a salon...The cut was so quick and a bit uneven, especially the long curtain bangs I asked for. She did not take her time and go through cutting the hair in layers. Honestly, pay $20 extra and go to a real salon, where they'll take time to wash your hair, and actually cut the hair and not just use a razor. I was disappointed to come home and see how unrefined the hair was and some of my hair was clearly uncut, meaning she only cut the top layer off hair. It was just a basic cut, not salon quality. Definitely come here if you here for a quick some-what cheap cut, but it's definitely not salon quality. I now need to go to another salon for a real fresh cut.
