I have paid big money over the years for color and cuts that were just ok. I moved to Sutter Creek from the bay area about 3 years ago and went through a couple of hairdressers until I found Corey. Wow! What a difference. For less than I ever had to pay in the bay area I have found hair nirvana. Corey listens to everything I have to say and helps me make decisions about what I want to do. I made an appointment for March 28th, 2023 at 2pm after finding Kayla online and exchanging a few texts. At 11:30a the day of the appointment (2.5 hours before my appointment) I received a text that she had to cancel because she had pneumonia. I was very understanding and eventually able to get in to see her a little over a week later when someone canceled. And I must say I was super happy with my hair....even gave her a $50 tip on a $180ish dollar service. I felt so relieved to find someone close to home, my new home, as I just moved to Jackson 1 year ago. I pretty quickly scheduled my next appointment once I knew my schedule and that was for May 24th. I work night shift in the Bay Area and woke up early, forgoing sleep to get in to see Kayla before my commute and had an appointment for 11:30am. At 10:50am I had gotten a text that she AGAIN was canceling now because of a family emergency. When I arrived to the salon, I didn't even know she had sent a text. One of the stylist greeted me and said she would be right out. Then while sitting in the salon I saw the text and asked them if it was possible that she wasn't there but, the stylist that greeted me was convinced she was. The owner advised she wasn't there and that was that. It is April the 5th and still no text or call from Kayla despite me reaching out to her via text. It's a little surprising that if I cancel an appointment in a 24 hour window before my appointment I would have to pay in full. But if the stylist cancels within 40 minutes or 2.5 hours....I don't get anything. Not even a courtesy text or call to get me in with her or someone else.

For someone who works in a beauty store, it's a good idea to at least have knowledge of beauty products. I asked him if they carried NARS and he hadn't even heard of it and acted like it was some cheap brand! Then he tried to tell me that their make up is salon quality, which made me laugh because the stuff they sell compared to NARS is total crap. The store is pretty dusty too. I walked through the isles and took a look at some of the hair products and a lot of them just had dust on them meaning they haven't been cleaned or touched in a while. Not a good sign for a store. I'm not surprised that I was the only customer in the store. Seeing how dusty the store was, I've probably been their only customer for a while.
