I had the same Groupon-discriminatory experience as the reviewer below. The Saturday I requested…read morelooked fine, until I mentioned the Groupon, then she abruptly said "That would have to be Monday then, AND only during the day." It is perfectly fine to restrict the hours that Groupons are valid, but that needs to be advertised on Groupon, otherwise you are scamming people into buying it without them ever being able to redeem, due to normal office work hours.. All I said was "the Groupon doesn't stipulate what days and times---" and she got very snippy, rude, and defensive.. claiming she was just busy. (She wasn't busy on that date before I said I had a Groupon..) Sorry to the other stylist who isn't running this scam, but this needs to be called out, so hopefully your partner stops.

I still cannot find anyone who can cut my hair the way they do it in Japan. I have really thick…read morelong hair and it gets hot and difficult to deal with in the summer so I like it when the hairstylist is able to cut away and layer my hair so that it feels much lighter yet the length is still there. If I'm going to spend 80 dollars plus tip then I want to feel different and look different when I leave. Frankie did seem like a very nice person but she was also afraid to cut my hair as if I was going to freak out about loosing the length. I didn't really bother to look at the prices on their website because I read that the prices were reasonable and there were only 2 money signs on the yelp website so I figured it wouldn't be that expensive, but shoot, 80 dollars for a trim is pricy for me. When I asked the receptionist dude to charge the tip on my credit card, he gave me an attitude about how next time I need to bring cash for the tip. Seriouslly, I just paid for an 80 dollar haircut and you're scolding me for not having cash for tips? Ugh...

BAD! I am Japanese and I was expecting that someone could…read morecut hair like they would in Japan. WRONG. This lady (middle age) was a hair stylist in Japan...but I guess she stopped learning new techniques and such. I now know I have to fly back to new york.

Worst Salon Ever!!! I only came to try out this salon because the lady I usually go to is out of…read morethe country for 2 months. Do not bother wasting your time there!!! I went to only get only my roots done. The lady first told me $45 I showed her a pic of the ash chocalate brown color hair I wanted. She said ok she then proceeded to color my whole hair not just my roots I asked her why. She said for it to be one even color. So I agreed. After the process was complete my roots came out orange and the middle of my hair black and the other parts dark brown. And my hair also is now burnt. Has a burnt touch it was soft before going there. And I ended up with 3 colors in my hair! I told her this, and asked her if she even toned it ! She said no toning was additional fee. She said she would have to charge me $85 for the work she did and charge me additional fee to fix it and additional fee to tone it. And she went on to blame me saying it was my hair's fault for not grabbing the color and that I chose the color! Worst service ever. Stay away from this place!!!! The worst outcome of the mistake is blaming my hair instead of taking responsibility for her mistake! So sad!!! I left and had to go to another salon spend more money to fix it! Do not trust them with your hair!!!

I decided to book Blowout Junkie for my bridal party hair. I initially emailed them per their…read morewebsite request to get something started but I also just booked 7 appointments for the morning of my wedding through the phone just in case. It was good I did that because no one responded to my email and I was on a crunch with my wedding 2 weeks away. I probably called an additional 2 times before the wedding day to ensure my appointments were still on the calendar and to confirm the artists. They were able to have 3 stylists so the day started at 7:45AM until 10:00AM. Blowouts include a wash for $55 and Updos don't include a wash and are $95. Everyone was on time which was great. We had 2 blowouts and 5 updos for the party. I think everyone's hair looked great. There was one auntie that was not happy about her updo (but she didn't voice it) so I don't blame the hair stylist on that and believe that the stylist would have fixed it had she said anything. It's important to note (with any stylist) to bring lots of examples of what you want so the stylist knows or to bring photos of ideas and they can choose what might look best for you. Overall, I had a good experience with Blowout Junkie!

I had purchased a Groupon from Serenity Hair and Spa for a haircut, and a hair mask treatment. I…read morehadn't had my hair cut in years and I was very nervous. My hair was very long, just about to my lower back. When I called to make an appointment, I told the person that answered the phone that I had a Groupon. When I arrived at my appointment, I told the receptionist that I had a Groupon, and I told the stylist as well. No one ever said anything about it, until I tried to pay AFTER MY SERVICES, that the owner told me that he does not accept Groupons. Does he not tell his staff this? I wouldn't have come to the salon if I knew that. He gave me a "discount" and told me to try to get my money back from Groupon. I waited awhile for my stylist to be ready, and when I finally did meet her, she wasn't very friendly. She told me, "I don't have time to do a haircut AND a hair mask treatment." Ummm, but when I made the appointment, I told them that that's what I was going to be getting, so why didn't they A) tell the stylist and B) schedule enough time for both things? She told me that another stylist would get my hair mask done while she worked on someone else's haircut. The other stylist barely said 2 words to me while she did this. She washed my hair, and out on the mask. She had me sit under the heat setting machine, and also wasn't very friendly. She did offer me a glass of water, and that was about as friendly as she got. When they were ready for my haircut, they asked what I wanted to have done. I showed her a picture on my phone, and she basically told me that unless i flat ironed my hair everyday, that the haircut would look awful on me. The other stylist argued with her, saying it would look fine. No actual consultation explaining what would and wouldn't look good or the reasons for that. She pointed to about chest level and asked how that length would be. I ok'ed the length, and then she ended up cutting my hair to about my shoulders instead. I WAS FREAKING OUT INSIDE. The haircut itself ended up looking good (which is why the review got 2 stars instead of only 1), but it was MUCH shorter than I wanted, the service was awful and I felt rushed since they didn't schedule enough time for me. I was also angry that I had to pay for the same haircut twice, since no one bothered telling me that they wouldn't accept the Groupon until after the services were complete. I will not be going back to this salon.
