We have passed this place many times. We were in the area and had the taste for some Chinese food. We found a parking spot quickly in the shared parking lot. We entered and the place was pretty much empty. We let the staff know that we would like a table for two outside, so they led us outside and let us pick a table. We picked a table that was closer to the road/parking area. There were a few flies flying around, but I have learned that's the risk you take when you sit outside. We were provided menus when we were seated. The menu itself was huge and had a lot of different choices. Everything looked and sounded like it would be authentic. They only had about five beer choices and we ordered the Tsing Tao, an authentic Chinese beer. The beers arrived quickly and we continued to review the menu. I decided to get the Szechuan Basil Chicken and Wifey ordered the Orange Chicken. We were informed that both dishes came with steamed rice. I added an appetizer of the Scallion bubble pancake. The appetizer arrived quickly. The pancake was not exactly what I expected, but I started to dig in. It tasted pretty good with the curry sauce that was on the side. Our main dishes came out soon after and the portions were huge. We could have probably shared one dish. Wifey loved her Orange Chicken and I was able to sneak a piece. It was very flavorful and you could really taste chunks of real chicken. As we were hanging out, the crowd was picking up a little bit and a few people came in for pickup. My Szechuan Basil chicken was very very spicy and delicious. I spotted at least 2-3 different types of peppers in there. Don't order it if you don't like spicy food. The food was a winner at Hai and our servers were very attentive. We will definitely be back to try some other dishes. Rating 4.5

We were really pleased with the meal we had here. We ordered the Szechuan Chili Chicken, Bamboo Flounder, and Grandma's Noodle. Everything came out piping hot, and the flavors were really good. The chicken was tender and spicy, and the chili oil used for the Grandma's Noodle dish was so flavorful. The Bamboo Flounder was lightly salted and perfectly crispy, easily our favorite of the three. While we were there we saw several interesting looking dishes going to other tables, from huge bowls of soup to sphere shaped bread (now I know it's the scallion bubble pancake). I'm looking forward to going back and trying more menu items.

We frequent Hai pretty often, and it never disappoints. Every time we go, the food is consistent, flavorful, and served in generous portions that definitely give you your money's worth. Today we ordered the diced beef, kung pao chicken, and orange chicken. The spicy beef had the perfect kick without being overwhelming, with tender slices of beef coated in a rich, bold sauce. The kung pao chicken was well-balanced with just the right mix of savory, slightly sweet, and nutty flavors. And the orange chicken? Crispy, saucy, and perfectly glazed -- not too sticky or overly sweet. One thing we always appreciate is the portion size. You can easily share or have leftovers for the next day (which somehow taste just as good). Whether dining in or grabbing takeout, HAI Indicator stays reliable, flavorful, and satisfying every time. Definitely a go-to spot for us.

I've eaten at Hai several times, and I've always had good food there. My favorite dish is the bamboo fish, and I appreciate the consistency of the dish. It always tastes deliciously the same. I've had so many items on the menu here; I don't think any option would be disappointing. Also, I've only eaten at Hai during the day time, I have never experienced them at night. Service is always good and the team there works really well together. They always come right on time but never seem rushed. The shopping center is always full of traffic but the upside is that there's always parking. My only downside for Hai is pricing. Everything costs much more now and I know that it doesn't have to be that way.

Absolutely amazing Szechuan restaurant with really nice and friendly staff. Portions will really big and filling. All the food was delicious. Very large menu so you'll definitely find something you'll like. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you pick. They also prefer tips in cash.

I don't think I've ever had authentic Chinese food in Atlanta. Maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough, but at least I found this one thanks to one of my professors. Back in Atlanta for my doctorate, our professor wanted to meet a group of us for dinner and suggested Hai and it was really tasty. Pretty authentically Chinese, the taste is really good. FOOD: The xiao long bao is not Din Tai Fung, but much better than most places. The crispy pork belly was good but not the kind I'm used to from those Chinese bakeries in the Bay Area. This was literally deep fried pork belly pieces but without that super crispy layer on top. The pork bao (cha siu bao) was really good. I actually prefer the Americanized version of it, but this was authentic. The peking duck was not anywhere near the best I've had but still flavorful. Overall, really good food. SERVICE: Very good. Nice and polite and willing to explain the menu. Portion sizes were just right, too. COST: For what you get definitely not bad. I would definitely come back again.

Went for the lunch special. I enjoyed my meal which was the shrimp and broccoli with fried rice. My bf got orange chicken with friend rice. He did not care for his as much. Fried rice was cooked decent and that says something because ATL is not known for good Chinese food. The spring rolls were just ok. I wanted to try the dumplings but my bf is not into those. Service was good, quick and friendly. Restaurant decor was fine. It was clean. I would return.

While a bit on the pricey side, I did enjoy my lunch at Hai. The restaurant is located in the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center on North Decatur Road. It's a very busy area, so parking can be difficult. I called ahead of time and placed my order. When I arrived, I was greeted by a server and paid for my order at the kiosk. After a few minutes, my name was called and I picked up my order. I got the shrimp fried rice and added beans sprouts for an additional $2. The total was $17.28. Upon opening the container, I thought it looked bland. Looks can be deceiving because the rice was actually flavorful. I'd return and look forward to trying out more items from their menu.

The service was completely fine and the ambiance was pretty bland. The inside didn't really indicate what kind of food you would be getting. The dumplings were stuff and delicious! The soup dumplings had a flavorful broth with the meat maintaining its flavor well. The Mongolian beef and Dan Dan noodles were just okay.

Came for their lunch specials as we saw their sign while passing by. $11 lunch special with soup and rice is literally unbeatable. They had quite a few options to choose from as well. We got the spicy fish and the chicken and scallion chicken dish. The chicken dish was pretty good, you could taste the wok flavor but it was just a little too heavily seasoned with cumin. The fish was definitely very tender and fresh. The sauce was good as well. Not too spicy or salty. Just right. And it paired perfectly with the rice. The hot and sour soup was delicious but the chips were a little stale. Other than that the lunch is an amazing deal. Would be back for their dinner too as they have so many options to choose from.

Service 4/5 Food 5/5 Overall Experience 4/5 Value 4/5 Grandma's noodles were so good and worth trying. It is something I get every time I go. The fried eggplant and spicy beef tendon were good but slightly inconsistent (with each visit). I'd like to experiment what else is on the menu. Service can be great but can also be below average depending on who you get or I guess their day. I've had more good experience than bad so it's worth the risk. This place stays relatively busy every time I've gone but they are always quick with the food coming out. There's outside and covered seating. Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice Delicious

Took my Mom to her eye exam appointment in the area and we decided to stop here for lunch. I ordered shrimp fried rice spicy and hot and sour soup and my Mom ordered veggie fried rice with seafood soup, the food was soooo delicious and flavorful! We both took some home for later, couldn't finish it there! The service was Awesome, everyone there was so nice and friendly! The ambiance was chill, it was not crowded because it was so early in the day! The decor is nice, very clean! In a plaza with other restaurants and stores, free parking! Will most definitely be back!

I ordered takeout, shrimp fried rice and their seafood soup. I would give the soup zero stars. The amount of seafood could fit on a teaspoon. For ten dollars, I expected more. The shrimp fried rice was good. Not great but good. The service when I picked my food up was also good. Prompt and ready to help. I waited less than five minutes for my order. They were busy with to-go orders this particular day.

What are the vegan options?

All the vegetarian options should also be vegan as Asian people do not use dairy. The dragon eggplant is amazing and so is the Ma po tofu. There are also lots of appetizers that are dry fried vegetables.

Is the dining room open for august 20, 2021?

I don’t know. That was over 4 years ago.

I ordered through Uber Eats because I had a coupon and I had been meaning to try for months. My…read morecoworker always orders from Chinese Dhaba and it always smells so delicious so I was very eager to try it. For anyone unfamiliar, Chinese Dhaba is actually a type of Indian restaurant called Indo-Chinese because it's the Chinese food that is prepared Indian-style. They do have some typical "chinese" food dishes that you'd find in another American Chinese establishment, but that's not the main attraction. I ordered Chicken 65, Egg Drop Soup, Chicken Spring Samosas, Chilli Paneer, and a mango lassi. First things first, the mango lassi was absolutely delicious and I pretty much licked the cup clean. I wish the rest of the country appreciated mango lassi the way that I do. The chicken spring samosas were just okay, they seemed to be missing something in my opinion. The Chicken 65 was great, yummy little nuggets of spicy fried chicken. The chilli paneer was also just okay. The sauce tasted more like a Manchurian sauce IMO. It wasn't very spicy, my Chicken 65 was spicier than my paneer. It was still tasty though. The only thing that I categorically did not like was the egg drop soup. It was very thick and totally flavorless. I tried adding my wonton chips to it and it didn't help much. Overall a nice experience and I will certainly order again in the future as I am a big fan of indo-Chinese cuisine!

Very disappointed. It has been awhile since my last order. During that time, they had raised the…read moreprices a little and the portion had decreased from being a tray of chicken 65 for about $12-$13. Now the portion size was decreased again and the price rose to $15. Zyka across the street also has Chicken 65 for less and the same quantity. Biwarchi also has chicken 65.
