Their manager gave us a great deal on our trade-in and the final price, and the finance guy, Tom, was a hoot! Tom actually explained the warranty options and did NOT push the more expensive Ford warranty. It truly was a transparent deal. As a fun full-circle moment, my grandfather bought an Oldsmobile from Jack Haggerty Oldsmobile back in the early 1980s. I first discovered Haggerty Ford back in 2020 when Covid was happening. I was looking for a new car and my brother came across a black 2017 Ford Edge. We met with John Czech our salesman and he is so knowledgeable and straightforward. Since that I've been bringing my car to Haggerty Ford and I have never had any issues. This past weekend I went back to Haggerty Ford and bought a 2024 Ford Edge and I'll keep going back to Haggerty Ford to buy cars, because I've dealt with a lot of great managers at Haggerty Ford when I was buying a car, they made the experience of buying cars easy and very understandable. I've also had a lot of really good experiences with the employees when my car was in for an oil change too. Avoid this service center. Not worth even one star. I got here for an appt at 10am this morning for what was described as a 'quick' service replacing my airbag inflators per the massive safety recall of this part. The task was completed in less than an hour as promised, coming in at exactly 45 minutes. I signed a few quick releases and was given my keys like lightning. However, when I started my vehicle, the interior lights dimmed and fizzled out and the engine promptly died. I never left the parking spot. I started my car again with the same negative result. I reported the situation to my Service Advisor, Eric. He was consistently friendly throughout our interactions. Eric immediately used a jump box to start the car and pulled it back into the service garage. He suggested that my battery was dead. I haven't had any issues with my $$$ Interstate battery prior to this and pointed out that the mechanic may have shorted it when he worked on my car. I asked him to run tests on the charging system as I was incredulous at the 'convenience' of my battery suddenly failing to hold a charge after his mechanic monkeyed with it. I asked him to check it under load. As it was being analyzed by Eric, the Service Director, Dave, pops over. He frowns at me and says, 'So what you have is a dead battery' suggesting that this was my personal problem. I replied that it was fine before I came in and I wanted to see the readings. He told me the battery was 'just dead' and I asserted that his mechanic could have shorted it and I didn't know what happened but my car wasn't throwing codes or having issues before I came in. I pointed out that they were the ones who messed with my charging system. Dave was not pleasant in his response. He had zero *ucks to give. He rudely said, "This is over," and looked at Eric and said, "SHE has two choices- SHE can either buy a new battery or we'll just put her car in the lot." He said don't give her any more information about the car. "No more tests." And he looked at me and said again, "This is over." Incredulous, I replied this was NOT over. And I was right. SIX HOURS LATER, I am still sitting at this blasted dealership, waiting on my battery replacement. It seems pretty curious to me that my car went from starting just fine this morning with zero issues and no trouble in my 20-minute commute to the dealer to suddenly showing just 5 volts and 26 cranking amps. And completely failing to hold a jump, stranding me at the dealer. Then they act as if there is no connection to the fact they had a mechanic messing with it. The service team took zero responsibility. AVOID this nightmare. I will say that the sales staff here largely seem nice, seeing as I have observed them for the bulk of my day now. I had planned to buy a new Mustang from Haggerty this month, but I can promise you I will be taking my business elsewhere. The service center is literally and completely a waste of time. And lots of it!! The ridiculously poor customer service I received from the "Service Director" has me swearing off Haggerty forever. Terrible place. Complete scam. Purchased my 2016 Ford Escape from here and I have had problems with it from day one. I haven't even had my vehicle for a full year yet and it has been brought into the dealership four times for the SAME issue. I was told they "fixed" wiring in my vehicle, months later the check engine light comes on AGAIN. After bringing it to them three times i decided by fourth time will be bringing it else where. Well found out what they apparently "fixed" was never fixed. A lawsuit is coming for them before they know it. Please do NOT purchase from this dealership. I received a Recall notice from Ford that my windshield needed to be resealed. I took my Transit Connect to Haggerty and decided to get 'The Works' oil change ($69). I also pointed out that my windshield wiper arm needed to be 'reseated' on the hub because it was one tooth off, from a previous battery replacement procedure (the cowl must be taken apart in order to change the battery). Although I'd been waiting in the Showroom, no one bothered informing me that my car was ready (I noticed it out in the lot, then went and asked). But the Service Adviser told me that I'd need to return to their dealership a second time, because my Recall involved one appointment for 'inspection' and a second appointment to have the word done --and the Recall notice made no mention of this! He also said the service tech 'just couldn't get the wiper arm off because it was stuck.' Huh? Sorry, but this Service Department is sorely lacking --bad customer service, seemingly not wanting to do any work, and LAZY. I'd been considering buying a new vehicle from Haggerty --NO WAY. I'm taking my business elsewhere, and I suggest you do, too! read more

This review is based in their used car buying department. Submitted my detailed car info through cars.com They emailed me a "voucher" for $6500 which was subject to change based on evaluation of condition. Ok, makes sense. I braced for it possibly going down 100-200 or so. They checked out the car, returned and told me information that I had already gave on my cars condition. Then said there were 2 leaks. So they offered 2950. -my jaw dropped- Uhh....the original offer was for 6500, I said. "That's neither here nor there." Actually I am here because it was there. I don't even think he knew what the original offer even was! I took the car the same day to a trusted mechanic - no leaks. Don't bother with the "offers" for your car. I wanted to wait to post this until after I've had my car for a while to see if I'd cool off about it. I haven't. There were multiple things wrong with the car after I got it, albeit cosmetic, but things you want fixed if you're buying your car "certified used". There's supposed to be a checklist of everything that is checked to make sure everything is up to the standard of Ford. I can pretty much guarantee this wasn't done. There was paint chipping on items on the inside of the car. The owner's manual that was still wrapped in plastic was completely covered in mold. I asked how I get these things replaced within the warranty, and was told they weren't covered. After a couple emails back and forth, they just stopped replying. I kept forwarding the same email chain, with no response. When I picked up the car, I was supposed to have both back tires replaced with new tires. One of the mail reasons I decided to go with this car over another Explorer and a different dealership. I got there and they told me they found a used tire with the same tread, so were going to just replace with that. I had to fight back and forth to get what I was promised. This was after multiple trips to the dealership because of different things that needed to be replaced. The final straw came this weekend when one of the panels on the window just flew off while I was driving. How was this car ever inspected and passed? I really question whether there was water damage to the car and I'm being scammed. Do yourself a favor and find one of the other many Ford dealerships in the Chicagoland area. read more

This place has the WORST customer service. I emailed and called back and forth all day with the internet sales person on a specific car. We agreed on a price and I said we would be in at 5PM to write a check and pick the car up. When we arrived, at 5PM, license plates to transfer in hand, they said "Oh, that couple right there is buying your car but we can get you one on Tuesday." Thanks, but no thanks. I called the salesperson the second we left the house to say we were on the way, and they sell the car while we were driving there (about 45 minutes). SHADY! This is the best dealership I have EVER been to--and I used to work for a body shop!!! It's clean, and the best part of all--they have POLITE salespeople and staff! I had a fantastic experience based on a recommendation from a family member, and the general manager was very sweet and accommodating. I felt bad because I was there at 3:30pm on a Saturday, but Jack and my salesman Jake Riley were both very sweet and took great care of me. (We didn't get out of there until almost 7pm.) They were extremely accommodating and even took a car off the showroom floor without hesitation! I ended up leasing that very showroom car--a 2015 Ford Fiesta--and I am so happy! I had been searching at other dealerships and typically get poor service at such establishments because my boyfriend and I look very young. BUT we are not--26 and 29 and he owns a house. Most salespeople push us off and it had been happening at other dealerships, but here--we were respected and treated like family. GREAT place to buy/lease a car!!!! Thank you!!! I was a loyal customer of Haggerty Ford until now. They not only lost a sale but they lost future sales because I was planning on buying a new F150 King Ranch and a Ford SUV. I went to the Ford site and configured a new F150 King Ranch and used Ford's tool to request a price quote. That request was received by Haggerty Ford (the nearest Ford dealership). I received a response from Raymond Villaflor (apparently a salesman) but he didn't include the price quote. Instead, he wanted me to contact him and I know how that goes. I responded by telling him that I only wanted the price quote and was not interested in a sales pitch. That was not an insult. I was just telling him that I simply wanted the quote as promised on the Ford site. His response was not only rude and nasty but it demonstrated that he isn't even literate. Here is is: "Good luck in your car search, I was not giving a sales pitch if you are the type of person that assumes the worse I would rather not deal with you. I work for the Haggertys reputable family and dealership for a long time... They are about honesty and transparency... You built out a truck, no where in the inquiry asked for price, until your email." Apparently Mr. Villafor thinks the term "sales pitch" is an insult to salesmen and anyone who expects a sales pitch from a car salesman (or any salesman, for that matter) thinks the "worse" of that salesperson. Give me a break! Sales pitches are what salesman do. It's not an insult and there's nothing wrong with sales pitches contrary to Mr. Villafor's reaction. I was just telling him that I only wanted the price quote as promised by Ford at that time and not a sales pitch. NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE: I live 3+ hours away from Haggerty Ford and told them I was going to buy a Toyota Sienna that they had on the lot. This was a decent experience to purchase a new car. We were greeted immediately upon entering. The salesman was not super friendly, was very matter-of-fact, and ok to deal with. However, his English wasn't super clear and he was a bit difficult to understand. He didn't know the inventory very well so we pulled up a vehicle on our phone. This made it easier. They have a no haggle policy and the price was fair. We did ask for a little bit more for our trade-in and we got it. Waiting for the finance manager was frustrating. Even after his previous customer left, we waited 45 minutes. He wasn't pleased when we declined the added warranty and got a bit testy. Overall I am very happy with Haggerty Ford. My wife and I knew we wanted a used Ford Flex, 2013 or 2014. She found that Haggerty had 2 on the lot, an SLE and a Limited. The Limited was more expensive than we were looking to spend, but I decided to go after work on a Friday evening to look at both. When I walked in I met Dave Palumbo, who ended up being a fantastic rep. He showed me both vehicles, explaining the different features and by my choice we test drove the one I was considering most heavily. It's important to note here that my wife and I had also shopped at Carmax. I think Carmax is great - the prices are transparent, huge variety, limited pressure. But here's the HUGE difference: Dave knew both vehicles intimately. He was able to explain all the features and the differences between the two. At Carmax (where I should mention I have bought cars before), the salespeople do not know the vehicles all that well. In my experience they struggle with the finer points. Dave had another couple with an appointment, so he had to interrupt our sales process and check back in with me periodically. I let him know it was fine by me as I was just sitting in that Limited, messing with the Bluetooth and sound system. He apologized a ton, which I didn't need to hear, but it's nice to know someone has respect for your time. The next day, my wife, two kids and I, came back to drive both vehicles and make a decision. I never felt pressured. We decided on the Limited and began negotiation. I have to say that this didn't feel any better than any other car negotiation I have been in, but I will say that in the end I got the price I wanted and the value I wanted for my trade in. (I knew both _exactly_ before I walked back into that dealership.) There were the same "I have to ask the manager", "I'm not sure if that will work but..." tactics that are used. In the end, though, I really feel good about the whole thing. Yes - it took WAY TOO LONG to negotiate, finalize the deal and get my car. But I got an amazing car, was fully educated along the way by Dave, and in the end I got a better deal than the fixed Carmax "no hassle" pricing. My experience was great and Dave Palumbo is a pro. I read the bad reviews online but still I tried to buy a car from these guys and was treated unfairly. After being given a price for my trade they backed out of my trade because the car they were selling had a big service bill, so they said. They already committed to a price and then gave me a hassle from then on. I called the dealership to report a discrepancy is a listing on an Expedition. The description reported the vehicle as 4 wheel drive, the specifications showed RWD. Katrina in sales answered the call and insisted I give her my phone number and book an appointment to test drive this vehicle that was falsely advertised. I had to disconnect the call due to the high pressure sales and demand for my personal information that I repeatedly refused to provide. After hanging up, Katrina promptly called my phone back and advised in a voice mail that the dealership has my phone number on their caller ID and if I don't want to share my phone number I need to use *67 and AGAIN solicited me to come in for a test drive. Seriously? After that experience I wouldn't walk through the doors of this dealership if they were giving that Expedition away. read more

The entire process was very comfortable. Although I had financing set when I walked, Brian (in financing) was able to secure a better rate and that process was seamless as well, as was deciding upon the right extended warranty. I appreciated that even though I went there to not make a purchase 2 times in a row... they were totally professional and willing to understand that this was a decision that I was taking my time with. -The sales team (I worked with 2 different sales reps) were not pushy at all. I cannot stress enough how much I noticed at two other competitor's dealerships I felt very pushed to make a decision. I won't say what 2 dealerships, but one was calling me at 8am on multiple mornings, and another kept telling me that I better make a decision before the end of March and how it affects their numbers... and talked me into giving a $500 deposit to hold a car and said I should really decide before the 48 hour hold was up. Ford didn't make me feel like I better do these things or I will lose out financially. -Finally, I want to say that, in short, the entire team did a great job of providing me the information I needed to make a decision. They didn't waste time telling me about the competition. They just answered my questions, and allowed me to think it over. read more

I was in the market for a used Ford Escape and checked all the local dealership websites for inventory. Haggerty had what looked like a good match, and I had been a previously satisfied Haggerty Chevrolet customer, so I contacted Haggerty Ford. The entire experience went practically flawlessly, from the scheduling of the test drive (which I had to reschedule to a later day and got zero pushback), to my inspection of the car, to the price negotiation, down payment, and eventual purchase. Dan O was a complete pleasure to deal with, and I don't say that often about very many people, let alone sales folk. I take a long time inspecting prospective vehicle purchases, and he was not pushy or hurrying; even bringing me some plastic to lay on when I realized I had forgotten one of my rugs. I found some minor issues to be addressed on the vehicle, which got put into the contract and were addressed completely to my satisfaction. I was even able to discuss one item with the service tech directly, which wasn't afforded to me by some other dealerships I visited. I had forgotten to ask about the unlock code for the door, but Dan didn't, presenting it to me along with the keys. It was simply the right vehicle, available at the right time/location, for the right price, and the right buying experience. My college student and I could not be happier. read more

My husband and I came in to look at, test drive, and purchase a used Mustang convertible. Our salesman, Bill, was very nice and spent a lot of time with us answering questions, going on two test drives, and working with us on the price. He was great to work with, very kind and personable. When we were test driving the vehicle we ended up purchasing, I shared with Bill that I felt the interior was dirty and would want it cleaned and he assured me that it would be taken care of. Once we decided to purchase the vehicle and moved on to completing the paperwork, Bill promised us the vehicle would be detailed and it would look great by the time we were ready to leave. I even offered to have it stay overnight and into the next day so it would be cleaned properly and he said that was not necessary. It is important to note that we were buying a used Mustang and there was some normal wear and tear....I am not upset about that....that is normal! We spent over two hours going through paperwork, financing, etc. When we were ready to leave, my husband went to open the car door only to realize that one of the keys did not work. We were told that would be taken care of when we come back later to have the exterior and interior package put on the vehicle. When we left it was dark, so we did not notice the interior of the vehicle as much. Bill assured us it had been cleaned and we had no reason to think differently. However, when I looked in the morning the next day, it was still grimy and dirty on the inside! Sticky spots were on the dashboard, cup holders, console, knobs, etc. Crumbs and grime were on the cup holders, gear shift, and in other places. It appeared to have not been wiped down or vacuumed. This was really upsetting because I had shared that having it cleaned was important to me, especially if we were going to be spending so much money. My husband had also asked to have the dealer sticker removed from the back of the Mustang and we were told it would be taken care of and it was not. I do not feel like we made unreasonable requests.....we just wanted to drive off the lot in a clean car. This is what basically anyone would want after purchasing a vehicle, which should be an exciting thing, especially when you are purchasing a Mustang! When all was said and done, while Bill was nice to work with, I do not feel that Haggerty Ford took pride in the vehicle they let us drive off the lot. read more

I told them Ok I will bring back . I went I bought another car and I transferred the plate to the new car. When I brought back, they offered me $700. Horrible dealership to deal with. Let's start with you walk into the dealership and it smells like mold. You can tell they recently redid the flooring but it just reeks in there. They only offer coffee which smelled extremely old, no water besides a water fountain. I dealt with them only because KBB gave an instant cash offer which was approved by them. Not only did they not stick to it but they gave me an offer for more than $300 less than the instant cash offer and it was dated for 07/26/18 although it was 07/24/18 when i went in. Dealing with Gregg Elmore was horrible. He did not keep track of anything, was constantly sending information asking me to bring my vehicle in even after I made an appointment. Mike let me know the hours were 9am to 9pm. Greg doesn't let you know when their hours are but Mike lets you know and then Greg calls you several times in a row harrassing you that you can only come in before 6:30pm to sell your car. Walked in and dealt with Chad, one of the many store managers they supposedly have. Chad had constant excuses for things, couldn't even apologize for his staff's behavior and gave a BS offer with a date in the future but would not allow us to hold on to any of the paperwork he made up. We did our due diligence while researching the Ford Fusion. Haggerty seemed to have the vehicle we wanted and the price to go with it. It was a pleasant surprise that they actually still had the vehicle we saw online. A lot of dealers will say they still have the vehicle and when you get to the dealership, it will no longer be there. The salesman was pretty honest and didn't give us a hard sell. Again, a pleasant surprise. The financing guy offered extra warranties, etc., but didn't push it when we said no. One of the pluses we experienced was that we told the salesman that we wanted to be finished and on our way home before dark, and he did his absolute best to accommodate us. Finally, best part of this whole ordeal was that when we got home we didn't feel mentally exhausted as is the usual case. All in all, a pretty good experience. We would definitely go back! read more

Horrible service from their buying manager, Gregg Elmore. I actually got into a shouting match with him in the showroom. That's a first. He contacted me about buying my BMW and gave me an offer over the phone. After a call to talk about the car and after another offer, I went in to see Gregg. 90min later, I told him not to call me back and he said not to worry, he wouldn't.
