Ms. Linda, the Executive Director of the historical society, gave my classmates and I a tour of the house and it was amazing (and a workout). But what I got was a very tired room close enough to the entrance that we got to hear the group having an informal party in the lobby until midnight (Room 132). I asked about switching to one of the renovated rooms and they said none were available. What I like about Holiday Inn Express is you know what you're getting -- clean room; simple breakfast etc. We didn't get that on this stay.

The bartender served us beer, twice. Thats it. We were told the added 20% gratuity was because we had a party of 6 or more. We had two lanes with four people per lane. Each couple opened their own tab. When questioning the bartender about the forced gouging, he just smiled and said "it is required by management" . Any song requests are $2. It is a shame that simple family fun could be ruined by greed and entitlement.
