We did the Mob Boss room, and it did NOT disappoint. It was just the two of us because the rooms are private, and I actually loved that. We were able to work together, figure out our individual strengths, and tackle the clues as a team. And guess what? WE ESCAPED! We had a few clues along the way, but we ended up solving the room with just under TWO MINUTES left on the clock! Talk about cutting it close! We were so proud of ourselves when we got out. Molly was the staff member who helped us get checked in, sign the waivers, and get everything set up. She was friendly and helpful and made the whole process easy. And they don't just send you on your way after you escape. They have props available for pictures, and Molly took some photos of us afterward. It was such a cute way to remember the experience. My sister had so much fun that she immediately wanted to do ANOTHER escape room. Unfortunately, they didn't have another opening that day, but they did give us information about rebooking and a discount for coming back. I also really appreciated that they offer discounts for first responders. My sister is an officer, so that's an especially nice perk. There are several escape-room options in the Frederick area, but I'm really glad this is the one we chose. It was fun, challenging without being frustrating, and a great experience for both a first-timer and someone who's done escape rooms before. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something different and fun to do--especially on a rainy day!

I walk around Lake Mercer starting at South Run Park all the time, so I've known there were…read moreziplines here for years, but didn't realize the full extent of the obstacle courses. I took advantage of Black Friday offers and went on one of the last days they were open for the year. Freezing temperatures, but with good layering, hat, and gloves that wasn't an issue (I had pre-purchased their gloves, but wasn't thinking about temperature and got fingerless ... luckily I had brought a thick pair of my own gloves as a backup). I was by myself for the adventure (my wife stayed on the ground and took pictures - it's okay to bring spectators), but there were some other groups on different courses. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure to tighten up the harness between each course. I did about half of the total courses - two full courses and one halfway, which had an option to return to the start before some obstacles I wasn't quite ready for mentally. The first two courses I did included a handful of obstacles and ended in a zipline. The obstacles get progressively more challenging as you go along, partially in terms of balance, but mostly in terms of fear factor. For me the toughest to psych up for was a set of free hanging ropes that you walk on. The Tarzan swing also took a minute to mentally prepare. The remaining courses I decided to save for another day after looking at them from the ground - I'd been challenged enough for the day, but definitely plan to go back and build up to those, hopefully with some friends along for support.

It was finally warm enough to do an outdoors activity so I booked us tickets to go over the Easter weekend. I reccomend booking in advance as they do get booked up quickly. Also make sure to sign the waivers beforehand; so you don't have to do it at check in. I must say the staff this time around was truly commendable. They were great at instructing us the how tos and safety measures. They were considerate and patient dealing with my young nephews which I noticed and appreciated a lot. We did the tree top journey course as my nephews are still young and aren't quite tall enough for the other/ more advanced loop. This one was perfect for them. Some parts were challenging and scary but we managed to brave through it and were having the time of our lives! Tips: wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring a attachable cord for your phone so you don't run the risk of dropping it LOL. An hour gives you around 2-3 rounds on the loop depending on how fast you go through the courses. So much fun! I am considering purchasing buying the packages to take my nephews throughout the Summer.

The bathhouse was clean and had hot water. Most campsites only have lukewarm or cold water. There were also an abundance of toilet facilities and they were well maintained/cleaned. The view of the Potomac was breathtaking and the only downfall was that the camping sites are relatively close to each other both on the mountain and at the river's edge. I do recommend this center, however, and we will likely return when back in the area!

If they say the hardest course is extremely HARD lol believe them. We attempted the hardest course and learned firsthand why every worker said we shouldn't. In the midst of the struggle we had some hilarious laughs and made some great memories. Needless to say, I am absolutely a fan of The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring. I will definitely be back and will still opt to try the hardest course just see how far I get next time.

The entire experience probably took me 2 hours to get through both times. There are a total of 6 sites to go through filled with ziplines, ropes courses and obstacles. After going through the orientation and the first site walk through, you're pretty much on your own! There are instructors walking around monitoring from a distance but that's all. I like that there are water stations at the beginning of each site. The instructors are all friendly and helpful. Like I said, I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone interested in doing something fun!

Wow wow wow...you've been living in the area and you weren't aware of Go Ape's existence? You're…read moremissing out! It's a unique experience...they call it "tree adventure." It's a series of obstacle courses comprising of tarzan swings, zip lines, ladders, and ropes -- with increasing difficulty. Adrian was our wonderful instructor. We were thoroughly trained, as we were strapped into our harnesses and practiced attaching ourselves with the carabiners. It was drilled into us how we MUST always be attached to cables. I very much appreciated that because it became an innate habit for me to do it. Safety first! The order that we started in was based on the number of people in your party and whether there are children in your group because smaller groups would be faster to finish. Afraid I would hold up the line, initially I wanted to be in the back, but we were sent to the front of the line! Eeks! I thought. Having never done anything remotely similar to Go Ape, I wasn't sure exactly how afraid of the heights I'd be. Surprisingly, I did really well through the 5 courses. Overcoming my fear of the zip lines without much hesitation (ie holding up the line). The people behind us assured us that there's no rush and rather that everyone participates safely. Man, the zip lines go SOOO fast! Adrian gave us the tip that we can prevent spinning around by making sure our carabiner wasn't twisted up on the pulley when we attach the carabiners. It's so much harder to control your stop going backwards. There are water stations and benches at the first obstacle of each course. Go weekdays and during the school year (unless you have kids, of course) to avoid long lines and waits. I heard the weekends and summer can turn into total madness. Also, wearing gloves help prevent rope burn! You can make online reservations.

Justin and Jasmine made sure we stayed hydrated, and regularly brought us into the air conditioning to avoid overheating. They ensured our safety every moment we were there. The rope course was insanely fun, the giant swing and zip line were a blast and our favorite part was honestly the rock climbing! Justin and Jasmine were fantastic - we will definitely come back (preferably not during a heat wave haha) and hope they will be our guides again - every single person today made it memorable for my family! There are lots of trampolines for jumping, basketball, dodgeball, and more. There's a ninja course, a parkour course, rock climbing, and other equipment. There are lockers for rent or free cubby holes for shoes. Hand sanitizer stations are throughout and a "Parents Zone" on the upper floor. There's a small store with snacks and a strategically placed ice cream freezer at the end of the Ninja course. The parking lot outside if large and free.

Packed with seafood (which we learned is actually not the traditional way to serve paella. Usually it is just a piece or two of protein and the rice is the star of the meal).
