Blood stains on sheets. Picture is bad quality.

Everything looked great until we were ready to go to sleep. The sheets were blood stained and dirty. We had bugs inside the room (flies and mosquitoes), unsure if I saw a roach by the AC unit which was split open and dirty. Not really impressed with the cleanliness of the room.

our sleepy "kids" loved the bed, and there was room for us too!

Hagerman Valley Inn is a lovely, unassuming gem. Our late-night check in was a breeze with their lobby phone, and our room was air conditioned when we arrived! We had trouble finding a place to stay with two dogs while road-tripping, but their pet-friendly policy made it no trouble at all. When we checked out early this morning, the surrounding farmland greeted us with a beautiful sunrise, and they had fresh coffee and a cozy lobby where a few folks had congregated. We'll be recommending this Inn to our friends, and staying again when we're in town! (We might even come FOR Hagerman, what a great little town!) oh, and did I mention the beds are unbelievably comfortable? We barely wanted to get up this morning, and neither did our pups!! 10/10, five stars, all the praise for this great spot.

The fridge is pretty clean. Has a little freezer burn on the top that melts to create the top items to be damp.

I think that the place is pretty good. The AC is nice and the bathroom is clean. My only gripe would be the fridge because I couldn't figure out the way to change the temperature enough to notice and so when I took something out of the fridge it was damp.

    Double queen room.

Nice older hotel room. Stayed on second floor. Shower head a little low. Beds comfy and quiet both nights. Everyone very friendly.

We stayed in the desert suite with our pup and we were given a dog treat at check in which was a nice gesture.

On our…read moreway to Yellowstone we had stayed at a ramshackle motel seven miles north in Bliss, and I knew we had to find something better for our return trip. This was maybe $50 more than the dingy Bliss motel, and 100% worth it. The owners live on property and seem to put a lot of love and care into it. I really liked their yard decor; it think it helps make the place feel more comfortable for people of all walks of life. We stayed in the Hemingway cabin, which was just perfect for us as a solo couple. Everything was clean, including linens and bedding. The shower worked well. I appreciated the decor that emphasized the Hemingway theme, although I might suggest an accent color wall could jazz the place up a bit. Perhaps the wall behind the refrigerator. Speaking of, we were happy to find the standard amenities like microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. It was quite warm during our stay and, although an older unit, we found the AC to work well. The bed was comfy and we both slept really soundly! There is one lodge area with several rooms, and then the cabins scattered around the property. Although there were other guests using the common areas, we never felt crowded or like we were forced to interact due to layout. We enjoyed a couple friendly chats with other guests. We had dinner on our front deck and enjoyed the creek babbling away alongside us. The creek setting was AMAZING. Having just driven through endless miles of cow farms on Highway 30, we weren't prepared for this idyllic setting we landed in. I mean... stunning. Being from Western Oregon we're spoiled by scenery, so I don't say that lightly. We had a long drive ahead and I very much wish we had been able to spend more time here. Only two minor things to mention. First, this is very near the highway so if you want to sleep with windows open, you can expect some highway noise. It was not something that impacted our stay to any degree. Second, the entire entrance and parking areas are filled with round rock instead of gravel, which made my Toyota Corolla slip around like crazy. My boyfriend was puzzled by the choice. It's certainly nowhere near a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance. Area observations: The town of Hagerman just south has pretty sparse amenities, depending on what your typical travel style is. Bliss, the town to the north, is not much more than a truck stop with fast food. Highway 30 isn't really scenic at all unless you're right near the gorge area. And the entirety of Southern Idaho smells like cows...it can be better or worse depending on conditions, but it's there. We didn't have time to explore the area, but the Hagerman Fossil Beds sound cool and there's parks and natural areas to explore along there.

I've stayed in a lot…read moreof budget motels and have a good tolerance for slightly run-down places as long as they're relatively clean and aren't a tweaker haven. That being said, this is one of the most depressing places I've ever stayed. I'm giving it two stars because the guy at the check in counter was friendly and efficient and we did not encounter bed bugs. It also didn't look to be a type of place people are living in; the other guests I saw and spoke to seemed to simply be just regular folks traveling on a budget. The room wasn't "dirty", but the whole place is run down and just kind of sad. They obviously are using some sort of very strong fake vanilla room freshener, but it just can't hide the musty smell that is certainly embedded in this old motel. The layout for the motel is also strange. It's two stories, with all of the room entrances off of interior hallways. Walls are definitely thin and floors are creaky. The hallways are as musty as the rooms. I think the owners are good folks who are trying to operate a motel on a shoestring budget near a truck stop in a depressed little town. But given the condition of the place and the overall atmosphere, it's probably the worst place I've ever stayed and even though it was cheap I feel like we paid too much. We had reservations here for the travel night back to Oregon, and I cancelled that the same night we stayed. I just couldn't imagine ending our trip with another stay here, so I booked a more expensive spot only a few miles south...it was absolutely worth the extra money to not stay here again. Also, just know that pretty much all of southern Idaho smells like cows.

Its a property that needs a good renovation. A place to stay if you have to, not because you expect a nice place.
