Friendly service, very clean rooms. Good place to stay when you aren't prepared to camp up here in the great outdoors.

This appears to be a fairly new building. The facility is clean. We arrived 15 minutes before check…read morein and our room wasn't ready but the gal at the front desk moved things around and got us a room. So that's a plus. However, I was very surprised when we started unpacking and found there were very few outlets in the room; FOUR to be precise and two of those were at the desk area, one of which was occupied by the clock radio. One side of the bed had NO outlets. Period. In this day and age with cell phones, tablets, iWatches, CPAP machines it is IMPERATIVE that there be an abundance of outlets. We both wear CPAP at night and that isn't an option. So I headed out to the desk to see if they could supply me with an extension cord. Fortunately they had ONE. That was it. Otherwise I was told "there's a Super Walmart down the road". Anyway, we're all set up for the night. And the room IS clean. There isn't a lot here in Mountain Home as far as hotels and they are all on the spendy side seeing as this isn't a resort. $150 a night is the most we've spent on our return trip and this is nearly 2x what I paid for a room last night and it HAD outlets at the bedside. Did I mention it was clean? At least it had that going for it. And it's right next door to The Wingery, a great restaurant!

We have been here for 1 night with 1 to go. Here is our review…read more Amenities: Ice machine, washer/dryer, and an indoor pool. Nice to have these at your fingertips while staying in Ketchum. The room was clean, linens spotless and the carpet had a few small stains but it is expected from an older property. The room has fresh paint, pretty granite countertop sink but the room is older and if you look closely you'll see that in the details. Regardless of this the property is well maintained and no doubt the ownership is doing a nice job of making maintenance. Shower head is nice and clean towels. Like the liquid hand and shower soaps, they all smell excellent. Parking was no issue, which is a + from a property in downtown. One drawback, the 3 story property allows for you to hear anyone walking above you. We were on the second floor and could hear the little ones running on the 3rd floor. Location? We walked to restaurants, coffee, shopping, and a car show all in downtown. Tamaracks location is so good, we liked that a lot.

If you are on the lower level, you will hear people using the stairs, quiet walking, stomping, pounding... if the people upstairs drop something it's so loud that we jumped from the surprise. Staying here for a week, I have learned last call is around 2 am because that's about when the intoxicated guests come back to this motel and stumble, fall, vomit, pass out, wake up, go to the bathroom.. over and over. If you have anything you need to do during the day and you need the sleep (as we did), this place is NOT for you. Find somewhere else. Another con.. dirty. This place was not clean. I've attached a photo of what my clean slippers that I brought from home looked like after our stay. I only walked inside the room. The wooden arms on the chairs were caked in grime and dirt. If you must stay here, ask and pray for a room on the top floor, wear slippers or shoes, and maybe bring a few wipes to clean it yourself. Their cute motto is Roam. Rest. Repeat. Good luck getting any of that "Rest."

Accommodations include cabins, yurts, meadow camping and spaces for RVs. Prices are different for each and are fair. We stayed over two nights (RV space and cabin) over the Labor Day weekend/week and had a nice time! The grounds were clean and quiet even during a busy time. All the RV spaces seemed suitable and were nicely sized with full hook ups available. The night we stayed in a cabin (cabin 3), we found it to be comfortable and clean, with three beds (two queens and a full bed jn the loft - you must climb a small ladder to go up there), a full bathroom with shower, a wood burning stove for heat, and some seating. There were a couple power outlets available. Electricity is available from 7am-10pm. On site there is a restaurant which has surprisingly excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed such things as a breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, a burger and a reuben sandwich. Sodas, waters, beer and wine are available. They have fantastic milkshakes as well (try the Huckleberry!). Prices were good and service as well. There is a geothermal pool on site as well (rules apply and a waiver) which we enjoyed. Jesse (the manager) was awesome, friendly and informative (especially about news/updated with regard to our backpacking trip) and all staff/crew was great as well.

Stopped in for some amazing sandwiches after a week of backpacking. I was at first disappointed…read morethey didn't offer burgers that day, but all three of us had amazing huge and tasty sandwiches instead. Loads of flavor and the serving size was nice too. The huckleberry shakes use freshly picked berries and are wow! The service was amazing and consisted mostly of high school aged girls who were very personable. The whole experience was amazing. The lodge is nearly 100 years old and felt truly authentic. I'll stop in here every time I'm back in the Sawtooths.
