We stayed here for one night on our return trip from Yellowstone National Park to Oregon. On our way to Yellowstone we had stayed at a ramshackle motel seven miles north in Bliss, and I knew we had to find something better for our return trip. This was maybe $50 more than the dingy Bliss motel, and 100% worth it. The owners live on property and seem to put a lot of love and care into it. I really liked their yard decor; it think it helps make the place feel more comfortable for people of all walks of life. We stayed in the Hemingway cabin, which was just perfect for us as a solo couple. Everything was clean, including linens and bedding. The shower worked well. I appreciated the decor that emphasized the Hemingway theme, although I might suggest an accent color wall could jazz the place up a bit. Perhaps the wall behind the refrigerator. Speaking of, we were happy to find the standard amenities like microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. It was quite warm during our stay and, although an older unit, we found the AC to work well. The bed was comfy and we both slept really soundly! There is one lodge area with several rooms, and then the cabins scattered around the property. Although there were other guests using the common areas, we never felt crowded or like we were forced to interact due to layout. We enjoyed a couple friendly chats with other guests. We had dinner on our front deck and enjoyed the creek babbling away alongside us. The creek setting was AMAZING. Having just driven through endless miles of cow farms on Highway 30, we weren't prepared for this idyllic setting we landed in. I mean... stunning. Being from Western Oregon we're spoiled by scenery, so I don't say that lightly. We had a long drive ahead and I very much wish we had been able to spend more time here. Only two minor things to mention. First, this is very near the highway so if you want to sleep with windows open, you can expect some highway noise. It was not something that impacted our stay to any degree. Second, the entire entrance and parking areas are filled with round rock instead of gravel, which made my Toyota Corolla slip around like crazy. My boyfriend was puzzled by the choice. It's certainly nowhere near a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance. Area observations: The town of Hagerman just south has pretty sparse amenities, depending on what your typical travel style is. Bliss, the town to the north, is not much more than a truck stop with fast food. Highway 30 isn't really scenic at all unless you're right near the gorge area. And the entirety of Southern Idaho smells like cows...it can be better or worse depending on conditions, but it's there. We didn't have time to explore the area, but the Hagerman Fossil Beds sound cool and there's parks and natural areas to explore along there. read more

Super adorable location and rooms! We stayed here three nights in the Hemingway cottage. It's adorable! The porch is great. I did work on my computer one morning and enjoyed the river sounds. One morning walked the grounds and enjoyed my coffee. The bed we had was awful though. Every time my husband moved I woke up. My back needs a better bed. My fault for not asking. That is my only Complaint. I loved this little place! Oh the smoke alarm goes off when you shower also! Haha! read more

I was going with just my daughter and me and booked the Hagerman room. A friend came along, so we had to change rooms, as the Hagerman room is only adequate for two. The Hagerman room was wonderful. There was a step up to the restroom, which made us a little concerned, but no one tripped! It was a lovely overnight stay. With our extra person we had to change rooms the next day. We were in the Fisher cabin. This was much less comfortable. It was very hot outside and the cabin was extremely warm. The a/c ran the whole time we were there and it was still over 80 degrees in the cabin. They forgot to clean out the coffee pot (there was still coffee in it). The day bed and trundle only had the bottoms - no flat sheets, which we found odd. I just prayed they washed blankets and bedspreads between guests. The screen door doesn't lock, so we couldn't sleep with the sliding door open for the cool night air. It was miserably hot. The grounds are spectacular. The creek is so calm and peaceful. They have benches along the creek to sit and relax in the slightly cooler evening air. They have a contactless system now, which is great as long as you going need anything. We had a problem with the tv, so we called and they never returned our call. They have what seems to be a boat rental, but there was nothing about it that we could figure out how to rent a boat to explore the creek. I would stay there again, but not in the Fisher cabin in the heat of the summer! read more

My wife and I stayed here June 27th and 28th. Wish we could've stayed longer. This is an outstanding lodge. The two people who own and run it are friendly and informative. They tell you about some of the restaurants and points of interest around the Hagerman area. The room we had was very comfortable with it's own deck out back and chairs and tables in back of all of the rooms. The Billingsley Creek runs right behind the lodge so you get the sound of running water day and night which is a great plus. Many trees by the creek for lots of shade in the summertime. It is very quiet here in the day and night. Not a lot of traffic going through. The room itself was immaculate. There is a large bathroom, with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. They only allow one-ply toilet paper to be used because the plumbing is on a septic system. No two-ply allowed. Wasn't a big issue for us but for some people it might be. This lodge is off the beaten track as is Hagerman but well worth the trip if you enjoy a more relaxed, small town atmosphere in a beautiful, rural setting and it's nearby the Snake River with lots of opportunities for those who enjoy fishing or boating activities. The owners also provide kayaks for rent if you choose. read more

This lodge is nicely located right next to a creek on the edge of Hagerman. I enjoyed sitting out on the back porch listening to the creek and watching the hummingbirds. There were ducks and ducklings in the creek, along with beavers and otters. The accommodations are a bit dated - the screens had some holes in them, the sliding door didn't always lock, and the curtains were sheer and let in the morning sun. The bed was a bit lumpy in one side. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here. It was very easy to get into town and see the nearby sights. read more

I'm sorry to say that after searching this online and talking to the manager I was extremely disappointed. The pictures online do not correctly describe the unit. I rented the Creekside cabin for $125 for the night. The shower is extremely small, the bed was uncomfortable, the furniture was old and the hot tub was minimally acceptable. If you like fishing camp accommodations this might be appropriate for you. I would have been much better off staying in Twin Falls and driving back to Hagerman to see the fossil field. read more

This place is way too cute! It's not a hotel but it is perfect for a mini cottage vacation, kayaks available a beautiful creek and perfect small town customer service. We by chance found this place because all the hotels in the area were booked, and what a gem it is!! read more

This place was very rustic and serene. We went as a party of ten. We got rooms 1,4,6 and cabin 9. Our children were immediately informed that there was no running and no screaming or yelling on the premises as it is considered a retreat for adults, despite the fact that our kids were very well behaved. Cabin 9 was a good sized studio with a pull out sofa, a rocking chair and a bed off to the side. The bed was a little old as it sags in the middle but the bedding was soft and comfortable. Overall the place was comfortable but it could stand to get a few updates/ repairs. The garden and creek were so peaceful,serene and very beautiful, full of ducks, beavers, frogs and many birds. We stayed here 7 years ago for our honeymoon and had a lovely time. Granted, the mattress was old and we both ended up smooshed together in the "hole" in the center but hey, we were newlyweds so why not! The hospitality was wonderful. Sunday morning there was a bunch of pastries, breads and fruit set out for guests. Each room had a vhs/dvd player so when we ran out of things to do and places to explore or just wanted to chill we borrowed a couple movies from the office. We were looking for an easy weekend getaway and thought it would be fun to come back to see what the new owners had done with the place. We checked in around 7pm and were met by a woman who gave us a long list of "don'ts" and a story of how cranky the neighbor was and to "stay off her property". No big deal, whatever. We stayed in the same room as we had years ago. The Hummingbird, #6. At first glance nothing had changed. The mattress had been replaced but wasn't any more comfortable as it was super-duper extra firm. Ah, well....beds away from your own are rarely that comfortable. The room was really warm so we turned the heat down to a more comfortable temp, went to the hotsprings for a soak then came back and went to bed. After exploring the next day we came back a couple hours before dinner. The room had been tidied up and the heat had been turned way up again so we turned it back down and opened the door so we could breathe. We decided we'd like to throw in a movie to pass the time until dinner. Nope...no more players, no more movies and the same lady says to us " that was the old owners, we don't bother since most of our guests don't stay in their rooms during the day." Ummm...ok. When we got up Sunday, I went to make coffee and saw they hadn't replaced any of the creamer I had used the morning before and there were no goodies anywhere for guests. Bottom line, it's still a beautiful and affordable place but the hospitality has taken a serious nose dive! read more

This is a nice little "cabin" setting. It is not a hotel setting so you shouldn't expect it. A great place to relax and some of the most peaceful and serene scenery available. We slept better our one night here than we've slept in a long time. The roar of the creek will just soothe you. It is an old facility, so there are things that show it. The only bad thing I could say is the hot tub was WAY too hot. They don't allow you to change the temp, so you can't use it for long. read more

Have never had such a negative experience when trying to check in to a hotel. This place was booked for us by an Air B&B host when their place was not ready despite our reservation. We showed up after driving 8 hours and was rudely turned away. I have Multiple Sclerosis and travel with a small (16 lb.) Service Dog. I was refused entry due to the Service Dog. She stated she would not let any animal on to her property and she did not care if it was a Service animal or not. I let them know that I had all the proper documentation and she told me she did not care and she suggested I call her lawyer. Instead I chose to leave and check into a hotel nearby. read more

Stayed here two years ago with my wife as an anniversary trip for wine tasting, hiking and goofing around somewhere we'd never been before. The grounds are just lovely, including the creek winding through the lodge grounds with some cute little bridges and ambient lighting. They have bbq pits for grilling. The place had a very relaxed and quaint feel. We stayed in the Hemmingway Cabin, which was kind of funny with its paintings and a few copies of Hemmingway books. The plus was a private hot tub, which we really enjoyed. Would love to stay here again when we're in the area, and probably will if we ever plan to taste at Cold Springs and Carmela wineries again. read more

We stopped here overnight on our road trip back to WA State from Boise. Absolutely gorgeous. I didn't pay so can't speak to price, but I'm sooo glad my family member picked this spot. The lodges are super quaint and cozy (although they do smell musty) and we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the babbling brook. A great experience in nature. read more

We loved the rustic little cabin that we stayed in. I would have given them five stars if we had been able to use the hot tub. It was at 109 degrees!!!! A normal hot tub temperature should not exceed 100 degrees. read more

A gem!! Our extended family stayed here for 4 nights for a family reunion. The rooms are cute and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The owners, Shelley and Olin, were helpful and accommodating. The kids enjoyed the lawn areas and the creek. The adults enjoying gathering in groups outside. And we all LOVED the whitewater rafting!! NEW OWNERS ARE HORRIBLE! My WIFE HAD STAYED THERE MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND IT WAS GREAT! New owners took over 2 weeks ago, It was our wedding night July 1 2015 we got there and the room we were in " room with the hot tub out side of it" the hot tub had so much chorine in it it wasnt safe to use, the room was dirty and the air conditioner was shot it was over 100 degrees in the room! they moved us to another cabin across from that one which had a working air conditioner but it had not been turned on so it took 6 hours to cool down ,it was like a oven! the next morning I asked for a partial refund because we were so miserable and the owner told me she would give me 10.00 back on a 130.00 room ,I told her in a nice way that was not fair and she said thats all she could do, so I told her I would not come back and she just said ok thank you! I havent had this bad of customer service in years!!!! read more
