Went upstairs to wait for my table and tried ordering a drink at the bar, the bartender gave the worst customer service experience. As I was waiting with my family by the bar, she didn't offer me a menu, I asked for a drink and she attended 3 tables without excusing herself. As I approached her she didn't excuse herself not did she care to get my order. NEVER again will I ever come to this place. It really sucks that because of Sarah I will never come here again. Nice local hibachi spot close to me in Howard beach, reserved seating for regular dining area but was 5 mins late so they gave up our table. Luckily the hibachi table was available immediately so we decided to catch a show and eat. For $22 you get the bang of the buck. soup, salad, nonalcoholic drink, and I chose the steak and shrimp combo with fried Rice. They also gave dessert as well part of the meal as well. The food is sooooooo tasty, you can tell it was fresh and seasoned. The reason why I took two stars off (I am trying my best to not take another star off) because the hibachi person who cooked the food in front of us is super disrespectful. He used certain things to include in his show to make us laugh. I totally get it and down for the laugh but there's a lining of not doing it overboard . You can tell he didn't give a sh**. He kept squirting Buddha "pee pee" ( its water ) at us more then once where literally my eye make up came off. Then he pushed it when he did it to my two babies . What pushed it even more is when I snapped, he did a fun trick where he threw pieces of meat from distance into our mouths . But he kept throwing it at the baby faces. Not once, not twice, three times. If It knocked my baby niece in the face, there would've been another show to look at. I was super mad and didn't enjoy the rest of the show . And he got the picture when I sat there not even wanting to eat my food. I shouldn't be covering my kids face from things being thrown at them. The areas are tight . I will highly recommend to NOT bring kids or babies . It's super inappropriate saying Buddha is pee pee on them. I will only come back to food in dining area, but I haven't tried that yet . This was a great hibachi restaurant. didnt have a reservation yet no wait. went on a sunday evening like 8pm. me and my boyfriend thought it was a nice cozy spot yet to find out they have an whole upstairs dining area if you dont want hibachi food and just the japanese/sushi food. our cook was very funny and entertaining. This place is pleasantly enjoyable! Food portions are huge, we all had to go boxes. I had the filet and shrimp combo - Seasoned well and perfectly medium cooked. The food is fantastic! Nicely done tricks and Tuna is super cool. The volcano is really fun to watch for families and friends. The food is delicious and there is a pretty big variety. Loved this place! Food was delicious and the lychee martini was on point!! The chef came out and did his "hibachi" thing like the normal. Everyone at the table loved it. I love hibachi. I always get the same thing which is the chicken and steak combination. The price was reasonable considering we got to take the leftovers home and they tasted yummy still as a late night snack. I'd definitely recommend this place and I'll be coming back soon!! Also when we were leaving the hostess gave my daughter a cute little Knick knack. Small place with 4 hibachi tables, you'll have to b seated with other (strangers). Food is not all that. Found a hair in my fried rice. Chef said it's not his. He did go in the back and change it. $10.90 mandatory gratitude for 2 ppl. I ordered a fried rice with chicken for $10, but was charged $18 for hibachi chicken plus $1.95 extra for fried rice.....Be careful what you order, make sure they understand you! I would have gave 5 stars but considering our experience on this specific day they deserved 2 and a half. The food is usually delicious. They are very clean. The waitresses are very nice. On this particular occasion I was disappointed. We arrived at around 8 and they were packed. There were about 30 people waiting to get seated. Our wait time was not bad. When we sat we receieved the yummy ginger dressing salad and soup. When it came time for the cooking that is when our unhappy experience began. The hibatchi cook was rushing. He made the lo mein and forgot to put garlic in! Garlic is everything:( they tasted like plain spaghetti. He also forgot to give us the ginger sauce and mustard in the beginning in those little dishes. The vegetables were chewy, they werent steamed enough. The rice I guess was O.K considering the lo mein and veggies were bad. Now came time for the shrimp and chicken. The shrimp tasted fishy. Once again he was rushing and the flavors didnt set in. The chicken was O.K only because I made sure he was using terriyaki sauce and letting it set in. Then it came time for the check and we had a restaurant.com coupon. I guess this was an extra step for her and when I gave it to the waitress she looked even more frustrated. It will be a while until I return. Very cozy hibachi restaurant. If you don't like the crowds and the noise at Benihana or Arirang then this is definitely the place for you. I highly recommend that you try their ice cream dessert. I am not sure what it Is called however it is out of this world. read more

came here for the sushi because i'm not really a fan of hibachi. the sushi seemed to be good quality, and the prices weren't too bad. they have a fantastic dinner special which gives you 3 rolls for $14. i tried the boston roll, salmon skin, and shrimp tempura. i wasn't really a fan of the salmon skin, but i had never tried that roll before, so i can't necessarily attribute that as a fault of the restaurant. the service was also super friendly and accommodating. the only thing i didn't really like that much was the atmosphere - it didn't feel like the AC was turned on (in the middle of summer this is a big turn off), and the place didn't smell super clean to be honest. i would recommend this more for take out, if you are not sitting down for hibachi. read more

I was there a while ago because I had a coupon for the place so I brought my family and my mother in law. I haven't been to too many Hibachi places but the food was ok. Keep in my, as a guy, my food standard is not that high. I've actually seen better performances by the chef when they cook for you. My wife is a big food critic and we both agree that we've been to better places. We went to Hagane last night for the first time. Based on some of the other reviews, I thought we may have to wait to be seated at the hibachi, but the restaurant was about two-thirds full and we were able to be seated right away. Our chef, Jacky, put on a wonderful show and was very entertaining. He had a great personality, and was a lot of fun. The food was good, and plentiful. Three in our party had steak in our meals and it was cooked perfectly in every case. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will come here again. We ended up going up the street a bit for a Starbucks coffee and dessert. It was a very pleasant evening. While we were here, we learned that the owner of Hagane also owns Osake in Rockaway Park, which we frequent on a regular basis. The food is great there too. read more

I was here quite a few years ago, I would like to say more than 5 and the food was good then. After moving to the area recently I decided to order take out(delivery at first but the delivery person was not in that day, not a big deal because they are close to me). Ordered a chicken hibachi entrée and a filet mignon hibachi entrée and food was ready and hot 15 minutes later. Got everything home and opened a large "bento box" type container with more food than I could have even hoped to finish in one sitting. Everything was cooked well- only criticism is that they could've added a little more sauce to the filet mignon. I tried both entrees and they were both delicious. The amount of food and the quality is worth it for take out or to dine in. PS. I do not eat shellfish and they listened to the instructions to not put it on my entrée and instead put my portion with the other entrée in the order which was nice. read more

Great for gathering, not so great on the food. sushi was typical, fair grade, soy sauce seems to be free, or they get it at BJ's (which is only one exit away on the Belt,) at a great price, or hopefully the chef was bumedp by one of his/her staff.
