They had me laughing out loud on both visits that I've made so far -- the first was just an info gathering and new patient exam, the second was a normal cleaning. While I have "cheated" in my dental care throughout my life, benefiting from minimal cavities, gum disease has no mercy. It plagues me constantly, and others like me. Yet, this office has helped me change my lifestyle and my health is prospering. Why? They put the patients' care top of list, delivering sober messages that: "not flossing is not an option, just do it. And the technique you've adopted as brushing needs to be relearned." Stopping the exam to highlight my deficiencies, devoid of shame but full of encouragement, teaching me the best methods that resulted in improvement that showed in 90 days and remain strong. These results are the results of persistent commitment to dental science and patient care. And it resonates throughout the hygienist's and staff's professionalism and demeanor, respectively. It is truly a pleasure going to the dentist.

After moving to Eugene, I was really nervous to roll the dice on a new dentist. I'm relieved to say…read moreI really like this practice. To start, Dr Snyder's philosophy is in his words "conservative". He offers whitening, straightening, and everything else cosmetic you could want, but his general approach is that if it isn't about health, he won't try to sell it to you, which I really appreciate. He's big on preventative maintenance and adjusting your regularly scheduled visits to meet your needs as a patient. If your teeth and home care don't require it, he will say that you don't need to come in as often as every six months. If you need to come in more often, he'll say that too. He is very straight to the point and honest. I had some wear on my front teeth and he shot it to me straight: the best practice is to get braces to re-align them (and add reinforcing paste), or he can just put some paste on them every five years which will chip if not replaced, but basically does the same job. He said he didn't expect the wear to cause any health problems so long as I came in for regular check-ups. Well, you can probably guess which option I picked! The hygienist I got for my cleaning did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. It was painful at times, as one might expect, especially since I hadn't seen a dentist in around 5 years. Some areas are sensitive, but you gotta do what you gotta do. After much scraping and trying to think about literally anything other than somebody sticking sharp metal things into my mouth, my teeth feel cleaner than ever! For those with dental phobia or anxiety, this office does not offer gas for routine treatments.

The entire back office side of the team are thorough, considerate, sensitive and utterly dependable.
