I knew what tires I needed, and after getting referrals to them - instead of the nearby chain - I stopped in and spoke with Chris. She gave me a very good price on the exact tires I wanted, but needed a day to get them in the shop, so I made an appt for 1:00 the following day. On my fourth set of tires from Kris and Kris.. they are old school when it comes to customer service. They are friendly and easy to do business with. In most cases they have inventory of tires, if not, it's normally that afternoon or the next day. Prices are better then the big box tires stores. I was in desperate need to replace the two rear tires on my wife's SUV as one tire was constantly losing air and the tire treads on both tires were worn, and she has a long commute for work. I first went to the other chain "discount" tire place just around the corner, and although this other shop was helpful, my particular tire was on back order and they had very limited number in their national network. So they would have to special order and it can take about two weeks to get the two tires. They also quoted for me comparable but different tires that they can get within a couple of days. Knowing that I didn't want to wait that long, I just checked on google maps for tire stores in the area, and Hackettstown Discount Tire was right around the corner. I stopped in first thing in the morning and spoke to Chris. Chris confirmed that there's limited availability for my tire, but checking his computer for a few minutes, he was able to locate the same tires and can have them delivered to his shop by noon! And his quote for the two tires were almost $100 less than the other chain "discount" tire store's quote that I would have had to wait two weeks for. Sure enough, I get a call from Chris right before noon and the tires were at his shop. I scheduled to come in later that same day to have them installed, but I got stuck at work. I called to reschedule for the next day and Chris was able to fit me in first thing in the morning so I wouldn't be too late for work. I came in first thing the next morning to get the tires installed, and I was in and out within half an hour. Living 10 years in the area, I don't know how I did not find this place before. But from now on, this is the place we will take our 3 vehicles for tires given my very positive experience. With Chris' ability to get my tires the same day that the chain tire store can't get for two weeks, the great price that's much less than the same chain store that's supposedly a "discount" tire store, the excellent and pleasant service by Chris and the other guy in the shop, and the accommodating and fast work, I highly recommend this local, independently owned shop! read more
