What a gem! Was here based on recommendations, even though it's like a 40 min drive form my house and could not agree with the reviews more. When you drive up to this unassuming place tucked away in a suburban shopping plaza, you do not think that you will get some really high quality sushi. But it's legit! The decor is very modern and sleek. Lovely lighting and atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get a reservation for a Friday night and were seated at a nice round corner table. It's a BYOB so a huge plus. Ordered a verity of different appetizers and rolls. All a perfection! My favorite was the oyster shot from raw bar menu - fresh and delicious. The only real reason I give this place 4 stars is because we did not have a good service experience. I think the restaurant was just very busy and unfortunately about an hour passed before we got any food. Some of our appetizers came at the very end, after our meal has been served, at the point where we were no longer hungry. In fact I had to ask on a several occasions whether the food was coming out. We got our last dish about 1.5 hours after ordering it. I really do think it was just an off night and would gladly come here again to give Hachi another shot at redemption. read more

Visited Hachi on a Sunday evening for dinner. I made a reservation ahead of time so our party of 5 was seated right away. The seating inside the restaurant is a bit small, so I would recommend making a reservation if you're a slightly larger group. We had the vegetable gyoza for our appetizer, which was perfectly crispy on the outside, but nice and soft inside. I had the Tokyo Pearl roll for my entree, which was a perfect combination of flavors and the presentation was nice. There was a large variety of different sushi options, including a lot of vegetarian options! Hachi was definitely one of the best sushi places I've been to, I would highly recommend to anyone in the area read more

The restaurant is typical Asian but the Special Rolls and other items, makes us keep wanting to go back.

The sushi was excellently prepared, they have perfected the spice so the flavors come through of the meal and the flavor isn't overwhelmed by spice! I had an incredible experience at Hachi. As a sushi lover, I'm happy to report everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful and filling! The portions are massive? Tonight was our third night getting take out and the food was amazing as usual. We have tried at least 12 different rolls and they all were great. We've ordered an Omakase, which came magnificently serviced with an ice sculpture and fish that was delicious like I've not tasted in quite awhile. However the food is phenomenal. I almost don't want to review it because it will make it even more busier than it is. Finally, a kick-a$$ sushi joint in the Doylestown area. It's in a strip mall but you'd never know it once you get inside. Wonderful ambiance and a very friendly staff started our first try off well. We started with the oysters in three different Japanese preparations. Well prepared. The live scallop was beautifully presented but lacked flavor, I've always enjoyed live scallop served on a Tahitian salt block to add flavor, this missed the mark. However, the fried oyster roll was insanely delicious, one of the best rolls I have ever enjoyed. Crispy and delicious, beats anything I've had in the Bucks Co area. The pink elephant roll (with beets) was very good, would have been great if it had been colder vs room temp. The individual sushi pieces were perfect, minimal rice and a perfect cut. Not like the golf ball sized rice portions and small cuts in other top-rated places in the area. Loved this place, we will be back!! read more

This restaurant recently opened in the New Britain shopping center and is a couple doors away from Wine and Spirits. It's a good idea to grab a bottle, as this restaurant is BYOB! The decor is very simplistic yet aesthetically pleasing and clean. The lighting is nice and bright, which is ideal to me as I want to be able to see my food ... And my dining companion's face! For appetizers, definitely order the little neck clam miso soup. It is definitely not your standard boring miso soup. The rich flavors of mushroom and clam puts a bold spin to it, which will be especially satisfying during the cold weather. Get the sakuro steak as well! The presentation of this is pretty cool, as it comes on a sizzling hot stone that will wake up your nose. The spicy tacos were tasty, but I honestly think the proportions of this appetizer should be changed. It felt a bit too heavy. Perhaps if they were to come in a smaller size.. Or contain less fish? Then the dish would be perfect. (I know, I know.. I must be crazy for wanting less food!!) If you're thinking about sashimi, go for it. The sashimi here is awesome and fresh. I didn't have to do a sniff test for ammonia. If you like sweet cuts, go for the scallop and clam. Also, try the Kumamoto oyster sampler! For a new restaurant, Hachi definitely impresses. It's surprisingly a good Japanese cuisine restaurant. If I had to rate it on a scale between too casual and too formal (-5 to +5) I would give it +2.5 Things I liked about this place 1. Second time at Hachi last night and the experience mirrored the first time. To start, we were meeting another couple and arrived first. They wouldn't seat us without the last 4 digits of the phone number, apparently how they confirm reservations. Since I didn't have that they told us to stand in the corner even though there was a reservation for 4 at our 7pm dinner time. Eventually they sat us, not sure what changed and then our companions arrived. We ordered shortly after arriving then waited an hour and a half before complaining about lack of food and service. We were served closer to 9pm and they apologized taking 20% off our tab and provided dessert. We ended up scarfing down our food because we were starved. The food was very good but the experience awful. They have an enormous take out business that overwhelms them. They should figure that out because I won't be back, other sushi places around. read more
