People talk about In n Out and Shake Shack but I weirdly feel like Habit Burger is one of my favorite burger joints around. The food is fairly priced, never greasy, feels relatively healthy/nutritious, and vegan substitutes are free. I usually like to get the grilled chicken sandwich (550 cal/40g protein) but you can't really go wrong with anything here. The veggie burger with a side of tempura green beans is another of my go-to orders. There are some awesome deals on the app, including free cheeseburgers for sign up, but unfortunately some of the coupons don't work reliably. So i went to the Habit Grill today . I ordered through Grubhub. When I got there she said order ready she asked for my name and i gave her my name and she said not yours. The app was telling me still preparing so i was waiting the girl kept looking my way but never acknowledged me again . So someone came to grab their grubhub order when it clicked on me maybe the app is glitchy and it might be ready . So i asked her again if my order was ready. It was sitting all the way at the end and she said oh here it is. It was sitting there since i got there 40 mins later i get my cold order. Today, my wife wanted to try the newly opened Habit Burger and Grill in Riverside. We order her food through the drive-thru. She is not a meat eater, so she ordered their veggie burger with cheese. She then asked if she could make her burger a combo meal, and informed her there was no combo meal available. Therefore, she had to order additional items separately (à la carte). She then ordered sweet potato fries, and a medium drink. Once she completed her order, we were given the total, $18.78. We were in disbelief!!!! Once we approached the drive-thru window, I asked the cashier if she had made an error in price, and she confirmed to me the correct price was $18.78. The food and service are solid, but the restaurant is not well maintained (ripped booths) and the tables are disgusting every time we eat there. We carry alcohol wipes in our toddler bag and wipe down the tables every time before eating. Even the indoor tables produce blackened wipes (see photo). I live close to 2 Habits. We used to go 5-6 times a year. We really enjoy led their Santa Barbara hamburger. Our last 2 visits there have been bad. Went in for a soft serve ice cream, waited for quite some time at the register while an employee continued on with her business, not acknowledging us. We attempted to order from the touch screen, but soft serve was not on there. We continued to wait but the employee would not help us. She glances at us several times but left us hanging for a long time. We eventually left. I have never had this experience at The Habit before. I am disappointed. There were two things that i did not like about my experience today. I came in today to get the Santa Barbara char. I asked for no cheese about 3 times. And the girl told me there was no cheese on it even though the menu says it has it. Oh well. I order sweet potato fries and a drink as well. Sure enough, there was cheese on it. I told someone else about the issue and she took care of it. I had this one made to go. I got my order even though the meat seemed a bit cold. Also, I don't know what has happened with their mango drink, but it was absolutely awful. It smelled like cleaning spray and tasted really bad. Hello, after reading a couple of pages of reviews and my visit to Habit, I would say they should consider bringing your food to the table, even Carl Jr does that! Especially considering the price. I noticed they have a " self order system" thats ok, I guess.. But are they trying to limit the human employee factor?? No complaints about the food or the ambiance. It's always been clean and the staff is friendly. The two stars is because my online order did not "go through." I received two emails. The first one was to let me know that my order would be ready shortly. The second email was to let me know that my order was ready. My husband went to pick it up, and it wasn't there! This is the second time our order was not ready (the first time there was a fundraiser and they ran out of chicken, even though I placed the order in two hours ahead of pick up time). I don't even eat here cause law enforcement likes to eat here so much (gross) but I came by today to redeem a coupon and I gotta say the service was great! The food was good. When I got there I had problems getting my coupon to scan and I almost just said screw it and paid the full price so I didn't hold up the line, but Bailey was so sweet and patient with me about it.
