The ambiance is super quaint and cozy. The courtyard is uber cute. The wine list is better than the typical. And all of the food was delicious. To be frank, New Orleans did not feed my soul but this restaurant will be a must stop if I ever come back. Kudos to the owner, chef, staff, and servers!! It was such a fun, impromptu, New Orleans experience, dancing to the band and enjoying a wonderful glass of wine and champagne cocktail from the bar. They have a very extensive wine list, over 50 wines by the glass, many reasonably priced. It has an upscale, luxurious, yet comfortable vibe. It is small, so fills up quickly. Really wonderful time here on our first night of Jazzfest.

Patrick serves a wonderful traditional Sazerac. We stopped by after enjoying preservation hall jazz for a cocktail to relax. A second hidden gem, Patrick's is connected and has a interior entrance to a beautiful courtyard. You can sit and enjoy your drink, in the relaxing courtyard. We sat in the courtyard, looking up to see stars over our head. I'm always amazed that in the courtyard. It is quiet the noise of bourbon street and festivities in the streets are eliminated. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. I'm glad the bar was empty, or else I may have not been able to hear her properly. Unfortunately they were out of their infamous blood bags, which both the hostess and server were kind enough to let us know. The upside to that is they have an excellent blood themed cocktail menu. I ordered the B+ whiskey cocktail, also called blood and sand, which probably gets its name from the demura sugar crystals that were sitting in the bottom of the martini glass. Served with a cherry, this is a sweet and fun drink. My friend was celebrating her birthday, so our server offered her a birthday shot, which was made with bailey's, kaluah, and something else I can't recall. I had a sip, it tasted quite nice. When receiving the bill they give you vampire bite temporary tattoos and a ticket to their speakeasy bar Potions. We had the best time and service here, our server was amazing!

She made it clear that she was saving all the open tables for folks who were there to order food, (without saying it out loud, of course) and seated my party and the two who came in after us at the tiny bar. She also loudly yelled at anyone who came in the front door to shut it behind them IMMEDIATELY, like she was the one paying the electric bill, us included. We came for a cup of vampire tea and to have our tea leaves read (the wifey really wanted to) but were told since it was busy that we could do the "self-guided" version, which costs $30 (with commemorative teacup and saucer! Yay!) or truck on down to the Vampire Boutique a few blocks over. Which we had already attempted to visit, by multiple times over the course of an hour and a half, only to find it closed on a day the door, and the business hours on the internet said it should be open. You like vamp-related things to do? Don't waste your money here. Go over to the garden district and take the Anne Rice tour there, or do one of the spooky tours in the Quarter. But this place? Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
