The update: When I first got the quilt back it wasn't what I expected with the material that was used for the patches. But I'm adding this part to speak to Burrell's incredible response and solution. He offered to rework it and was very sincere on making sure I was happy with the finished product. After I found a fabric that was the same material and matched the style better, he redid the patches, sent me pictures before redoing them to make sure it was what I envisioned, and returned my quilt again. I absolutely love it and am just so grateful for how he handled everything. Highly, highly recommend and will definitely contact him for anything I need in the future.

Alexandria Tailor was my third stop, and I'm so glad I got my dress done here. The tailor did a fabulous job on the dress. She understood exactly what I wanted. As a bonus, when it was ready, she had me try on the dress. When I mentioned the left strap felt loose, she measured to show me the straps were the same length on both sides. She shortened the strap on the spot to fit me perfectly. I will be recommending this place to my family and friends.

The tailor is abrasive and arrogant. He speaks in a condescending manner to the customer. The work was simple, hem my dress because it was too long. He did a great job but it wasn't complicated. He charged me $75 for a hem which is outrageous. I had already pinned it for the length I wanted. When I commented, he lectured me about workmanship and labor. Honestly, I'll pay too dollar if I leave feeling great. But this business does not appreciate customers. I won't return. There are plenty of tailors in our area.

I originally reached out to Ada and a few other businesses in June to get my 'pre-wedding' (aka small, unofficial family-only ceremony) dress altered for September; it needed to be properly fitted, hemmed, and at the last minute I wanted to see if pockets could be added. Ada got back to me within a few days where some others never did and her prices were by far the best; she quoted me at a little more than $200 when the boutique I got the dress at estimated ~$800 and another business quoted me ~$500. The timeline for alterations was also significantly better which I later realized was because this is a small business where she can spend dedicated time working on the project. In total, from first fitting to final fitting, it was just a week as everything was perfect and fortunately I didn't need any later fittings as my size didn't change over the following months before the ceremony (I did try the dress back on at multiple points just in case). Overall she made the process comfortable and easy which was so nice because I was definitely an anxious bride. I hope to be able to go to her again in the future for general alterations and possibly again for my big, official wedding next year once I find that second dress! Thank you so much Ada! The good reviews made me see Luis, but I will never go back…read more I took two suits to him for tailoring and am not happy with either. And the experience was terrible. First, neither suit was ready when he said they would be. He had them for an extra week and he had not work on them until the day I went to pick them up. Second, he did not tailor the sleeves correctly, they were uneven. Third, the pant legs were not as I wanted them to be. He kept telling me the style is to have no break, but I told him that is not my style and I wanted them to break. I also asked him to taper the legs and he said it was not needed. Well, when I went to get the pants for one of the suits (the other pants were completely messed up...more to follow) the hem was too high and the legs were too baggy. He lowered the hem but not enough (as I told him to do) and he did taper the legs. Fourth and worst of all...he switched my pants with those of another customer and tailored them to his measurements. That customer is shorter than me. He tried to correct his mistake. But when I went back to get the pants the hem was too high and he had let out the waist and seat a ridiculous amount. I see what he did was let the seat out as much as possible so the hem line would be lower. I had to have him take in the waste and lower the hem the maximum amount possible. The hem line is still slightly too short but there is nothing he could do because he cut the material when he hemmed them for the shorter customer. And also the seat is so low it rubs against my inner things. I should have demanded he pay for the suit he ruined but I was so tired of waiting for it and I needed it that I just paid him. It took three trips and over a month to get my suits from him. Worst of all is he charged me full price for the alternations, even on the pants he messed up. Luis is a nice man but he rushes and does not listen to when the customer wants. Sadly, I don't recommend his tailoring services at all. I know others who are satisfied with him but I was very disappointed by his work and professionalism.
